Jurnal Ilmu Informasi Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan is a journal of Library and Information Science published by the Information Science, Library and Archival Study Program of Indonesian Language and Literature Department, State University of Padang. AbstractÂ The writing of this paper aims to describe the perceptions of visitors to the Library of SMAN 2 Harau in meeting information needs. The method used in this paper is a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. Then, the data was taken through distributing questionnaires to students of SMAN 2 Harau and interviews with librarians of SMAN 2 Harau.Â Based on the discussion it can be concluded. First, the perception of the user towards the service in the Library of SMAN 2 Harau has not been said to be good, because the Library of SMAN 2 Harau has not been able to support the fulfillment of information needed by the user, there are still many services that are very much needed and must be in the library, namely the absence of user guidance services for participants new students, lack of promotion from the library, then there is no internet service, and there are still many services that do not yet exist in this library that support other services such as photocopy services and storytelling services. Secondly, the user's perception of the existing collections in the SMAN 2 Harau Library cannot be said to be good, because the collection of periodicals has not been maximally procured, there are still many requests for information from users such as enrichment collections, and then the latest collections are not yet available. Third, the user's perception of the existing facilities at the SMAN 2 Harau Library was also said to be not good because this library had a room with facilities that were still lacking, such as inadequate bookshelves, lack of internet services, lack of custodians, and supporting facilities for the creation of conducive conditions such as air conditioners and TVs. Fourth, the perception of the librarian towards the attitude of the librarian in the SMAN 2 Harau Library is already good, because the librarian has provided hours of service in a timely manner, understands user needs, is quick in following up on librarian complaints, polite in providing services and proficient in finding books.Keywords: perception, users, information needs.Â

This paper discuss about factors that cause a lack of the teacher's role to Library of SDN 09 Air Tawar Barat. The purpose of this paper is: (1) describe the teacher's perception of the Library of SDN 09 Air Tawar Barat, (2) describe the factors that cause a lack of participation in the school library. The research methodology used a qualitative approach. Data was collected through observation and interviews. The interviews were conducted to teachers structured guided. Data was analyzid by: (1) describe the results of the interviews, (2) obtained in accordance with the theories discussed, (3) conclusions and (4) reporting. Based on analyzing the data it can be concluded: (1) teachers do not know the function of the library, (2) a collection of books in the library is not in accordance with the curriculum that is used in teaching and learning, (3) teachers tend to assign students the task of looking on the internet rather than using books existing library, (4) library interior uncomfortable so make teachers and students not visited the library and, (5) BOS funds are not used for library purposes. Collections of the Library of SDN 09 Air Tawar Barat can not meet the needs of teachers and students as seen collections of the library is not in accordance with the curriculum that is used in teaching and learning and a collection of books that are available most obselent. From this fact, teachers and students do not utilize the book in the library. The library can not meet the needs of teachers and students. Keywords: lack of using the library;Â teacher; students.

AbstractÂ This paper discusses the making of the prototype of the indigenous encyclopaedia of Minangkabau marriage. The purpose of this paper is to describe the process of making the prototype of the encyclopedia of traditional ceremonies of Minangkabau marriage. The data collected using descriptive research methods with data collection techniques through interviews to adat leaders and community leaders in accordance with the problems studied. Based on the discussion can be concluded the process of making the prototype of the encyclopaedia of traditional ceremony of Minangkabau marriage as follows: (1) data collection, that is technique or way to collect information about traditional ceremony of Minangkabau marriage, (2) make design in the form of chart in product to be made, and (3) the process of making the product in accordance with the work plan containing the basic provisions of a topic that must be developed from the cover making of the book (cover) is the hard skin on the outside of the book containing the title of the book, and accompanied by several supporting images.Keywords: Prototype ofÂ enscyclopedia , marriage culture, Minangkabau

The purpose of this study is to describe design web as pomotion media collection of naskah kuno Minangkabau at Museum Adityawarman West Sumatera, so that can to acces by users according to online. The Data of this study is colletion of naskah kuno Minangkabau at Museum Adityawarman West Sumatera. Data were collected by using observation and record with staff at Museum Adityawarman West Sumatera. Design web using Adobe Dreamweaver CS5. The findings of the study showed that promotion activity collection of naskah kuno at Museum Adityawarman West Sumatera to worked with socialization method, competition, parade, and to prepare information about cultural tour of Museum Adityawarman on the web Province West Sumatera. This article discusses the development of library collections in the Archives Library and Documentation Padang. Panelitian method used through observation, interviews, and literature. Based on analyzing the data can be summarized as follows: First, the process of the development of library collections in the Archives Library and Documentation Padang form of procurement of library materials and the selection of library materials. Secondly, the constraints faced in conducting library collection development policy that is not in writing, not to have a special room to perform collection development, not maximum performance of librarians, and the lack of facilities and infrastructure. Third, should the Office of Library Archives and Documentation Padang has a written policy, has a special room to perform collection development, giving a clear assignment to any activity undertaken by a maximum librarians, particularly in library collection development activities, and Libraries Office of Library and Archives Padang documentation must consider infrastructure and facilities needed for all activities run smoothly. This paper discussed about the account creation twitter, instagram and Blogs as media promotion at Dharma Andalas University Library. The purpose of this paper is to determine the steps to create twitter, instagram and Blogs as media promotion at Dharma Andalas University Library. The method used in this paper is descriptive method. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews with the head of Dharma Andalas University Library and literature. Based on observations and interviews can be concluded that the Dharma Andalas University Library not do promotions through social media twitter, instagram and Blog. Based on the results, it can be concluded that social media twitter, instagram and Blogs can be used as promotional media library. As a promotional media library, the information displayed on the profile twitter, instagram and Blog is about the profile of the library. Such information is the name of the library, library addresses, opening hours of libraries and library slogan which is the hallmark of a library. Twitter and instagram Dharma Andalas University Library created to promote various activities to be and has been implemented by Dharma Andalas University library. Promotion via twitter and instagram to do with the upload photos and video with captions to describe an uploaded photo Blog Library Universias Dharma Andalas made to promote the library through activities that have already been made to write an article form a community in order to better introduce Dharma Andalas University Library to the public.Keyword: Promotion, Twitter, Instagram, Blog

AbstractÂ Research methods used in the manufacture of the paper is descriptive method in the form of the written word of the document are observed is done by means of observation and interviews. The observation is done to obtain data about a travelling library in the service of the library and Archives of the city of Padang. Data collection with interviews done by librarians of the library and Archives Department of the city of Padang. On the basis of the discussion it can be concluded that the stage of the round-the-comic library services library and Archives Office of Padang City elementary school for application of manga maker, as follows: 1) prepares tools and materials; 2) determine which ideas or creative idea; 3) determines a theme or story gendre; 4) determine the figure or figures in a story; 5) create a script of the story; 6) illustrates the comic sketches; 7) make the balloon text conversations and in comics; 8) manufacture of comic cover; 9) comic results storage. After the stage finish, then the comics be printed and then read and utilized by the students.Keywords: comic, mobile library service, primary school.

This study aims to (1) describe the factors that cause poor performance of the librarian in the Office of Library, Archives and Documentation (KPAD) South Coast. (2) Analyzing the Performance Improvement Effort In The Office Librarians Libraries, Archives and Documentation (KPAD) South Coast. This research is interviews and field observations. Based on these date, it was found that the results of the first study, the causes of the poor performance of the employees of the Office of Libraries, Archives and Documentation South Coast is in terms of personal skills, lack of discipline, and lack of human resources. Second, quality improvement procedures among employees working in the office section of the library libraries, archives, and documentation of the south coast, such as motivation, good leadership motivation coworkers, and family, as well as from the personal capability librarian. Writing this article aims to describe: (1) development strategy village library to increase public interest in the Library Nagari Solok Kampung Jawa; (2) constraints and efforts are found in increasing public interest in the village of Kampung Jawa Solok; Data were collected through direct observation and interviews with librarians Library Nagari Kampung Solok City Java. Analyzing data descriptively. Based on analyzing the data, we can conclude it - as follows. First, the library development strategy to increase public interest in reading has been done, it can be seen from the activities carried out by the library as read poetry competition elementary level, bookmobile, creating an atmosphere of reading, and library exhibitions. Second, problems were found in increasing public interest in the Library Nagari Kampung Solok City Java are: (1) the lack of library collections; (2) a library room that has not been ideal; (3) lack of human resources. Third, efforts are being made to increase public interest are: (1) increase the collection of library materials; (2) creating an ideal library room, because there is no barrier between the reading rooms, shelves and space collection librarian; (3) adding human resources.Â Keywords : development strategy, village library, public interest

This paper discuss about the process of making Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) library serves in PT Semen. The aims of this study are to describe (1) the preparation of making Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) library serves in PT Semen; (2) making Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) library serves in PT Semen. The method used is the desscriptive method. The data collected through direct observation and asking some questions to the librarian in the library of PT Semen Padang. Based on the making Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), it can be concluded that making SOP as follows: (1) the preparation of making Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) library serves in PT Semen Padang; first, knowing the requirements, second, evaluating and assessing the requirements, third, choosing the requirements, fourth, choosing the alternative action; (2) making Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) library serves in PT Semen Padang; first, collected the informations, by discussing and interviewing with the head of department; second, making draft, experiments the instrument and asking the approval from the leader, experiments the instrument that exists with the draft of the SOP who have had discussion process; third, making and including the supporting document of SOP, including the supporting documents SOP are UU No. 43 tahun 2007 about library; fourth, includes the officer in making SOP and the persong who legalized it; fifth, includes the date of making, revision, and implementation of that.Keywords: Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), library of PT Semen Padang
