ABSTRACTÂ The purpose of this study was to describe and analyze the themes in the anthology of short story texts for students of the 2014 Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The approach used in this study is an objective approach. The data of this study are themes in the anthology of short stories of students in the 2014 Indonesian Language and Literature Education class in the form of words, sentences, and discourses. The technique of analyzing this research data, which collects data, is classified, then analyzed based on theory. The method used is descriptive method in accordance with the research objectives. Based on the results of the study, found the themes in the anthology of short stories students in the 2014 Indonesian Language and Literature Education class were found. First, data containing physical themes with indicators of adolescent love conflict. Second, data containing organic themes with indicators of sexual scandal conflict and betrayal of husband and wife. Third, data containing social themes with indicators of economic conflict, struggles in living life, love: friendship, parent-child, and crime (murder). Fourth, data that contains selfish themes: selfishness, character and attitude which are characteristic of inner conflict. Fifth, data containing several themes (main themes and additional themes) indicators are more than one meaning. Based on the results of the study, it is hoped that it can be applied to Indonesian language lessons in class XI SMA with short story text material.Â Kata Kunci:Â tema-tema, antologi teks cerpen

NILAI CINTA KASIH DALAM NOVEL NO PLACE LIKE HOME KARYA ALMA ARIDATHA DAN IMPLEMENTASINYA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN TEKS NOVEL KELAS XII SMA Utami, Indri Yasa; Asri, Yasnur

ABSTRACTÂ The purpose of this research is to describe and analyze intrinsic elements, the value of love, and the implementation of the value of love in Alma Aridatha's No Place Like Home novel in novel text learning in class XII high school students. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data source in this research is the No Place Like Home novel by Alma Aridatha. The results of the research were found as participants. First, there are seven intrinsic elements in Alma Aridatha's No Place Like Home novel, namely themes, characterizations, background, plot, point of view, language style, and mandate. Second, there are four values of love in Alma Aridatha's No Place Like Home novel, namely (1) 12 data the values of love for God; (2) 37 data the values of love for the family; (3) 12 data the values of love for others; and (4) 11 data the values of love for oneself. Third, the implementation of the value of love in Alma Aridatha's No Place Like Home novel in novel text learning class XII high school students 2013 curriculum with basic competencies related to three aspects of assessment, namely the assessment of knowledge, attitudes, and skills. Based on the results of the research, it is expected that the teacher suggests the No Place Like Home novel by Alma Aridatha which is easily understood by students in novel text learning in high school so that learning objectives are achieved.Â Kata Kunci: nilai cinta kasih, pembelajaran teks novel

ABSTRACTÂ The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the forms of feminism and their implementation in the learning of novel texts in class XII of high school. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data source in this study is Ayu Utami's Saman novel. The data in this study are words, phrases, clauses, and sentences that show the form of feminism in the novel. The subject of this research is the researcher himself with the help of other instruments in the form of a recording sheet. The data collection technique, which is reading and understanding Ayu Utami's Saman novel, conducts literature studies related to research problems, and searches and records data relating to research problems contained in the novel. The data validation technique uses triangulation techniques. The results of the study were found as participants. First, there are two forms of feminism in Ayu Utami's Saman novel, namely verbal and nonverbal forms. Verbal form is a form of the character's struggle through verbal utterances by the characters. And nonverbal forms are physical actions of characters. Second, the application of feminism in Ayu Utami's Saman novel in 2013 class XII high school text learning curriculum with basic competencies related to three aspects of assessment, namely the assessment of knowledge, attitudes, and skills.Â Kata Kunci: feminisme, pembelajaran teks novel

ABSTRACTÂ Â This research is background because politeness involves part of social rules and strategic competencies needed and need to be discussed in the communication process. This research aims to (1) describe politeness strategies in the Dilan 1990 movie; (2) describe the politeness principle of language in the film Dilan 1990; and (3) describe the language context in the Dilan 1990 movie. This type of research is qualitative with descriptive methods. The data of this research are speeches expressed by Dilanâ€™s Mother and Milea which contain politeness strategies, politeness principles, and contexts in the Dilan 1990 movie, analyzing data with the following steps. The first stage, identifying data based on strategy. The second stage, classifies data based on the principle of politeness. The third stage, identifying data based on context. The fourth stage analyzes and discusses research data in accordance with the theory used. The fifth, draws conclusions, namely formulating a repetitive pattern of strategies, principles of politeness, and context. Based on the results of the research it was concluded: (1) the number of data included in the strategy to speak frankly without further ado more than any other speaking strategy; (2) the maxims used in this study are wisdom macism, generosity maxim, praise maxim, and agreement maxim; (3) the speech of Dilanâ€™s Mother and Milea in the Dilan 1990 movie is polite speech.Â Kata Kunci:Â Kesantunan Berbahasa , Strategi, Prinsip, Konteks

ABSTRACTÂ The purpose of this study is to (1) describe the skills of writing biographical texts of class X SMA Negeri 3 Bukittinggi before using mind mapping assisted discovery learning models, (2) describe the biography text writing skills of class X Bukittinggi SMA 3 students after using mind-assisted discovery learning models mapping, and (3) analyzing the influence of the use of discovery learning models assisted by mind mapping on biography text writing skills of class X Bukittinggi 3 Public High School students. This type of research is quantitative research with experimental methods. The design of this study is One Group Pretest and Posttest Design. The population of students in class X of SMA Negeri 3 Bukittinggi was 352 students spread in ten classes. The sample in this study were students of class X MIPA 1 Bukittinggi State High School 3. The variable in this study is the writing biographical skills of students before and after using mind mapping assisted discovery learning models. The instruments used in this study were performance tests. The data of this study are scores on the results of biographical text writing skills tests for class X students of SMA Negeri 3 Bukittinggi before and after using mind mapping assisted discovery learning models. Kata Kunci: Pengaruh, Discovery Learning, Mind Mapping, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Biografi.

ABSTRACTÂ The data of this study consisted of words, sentences and discourses that featured events and figures that changed the values of character education included in Kaba Sabai Nan Aluih Karya M. Rasyid Manggis Dt. Rajo Penghulu. The technique of collecting this research data, namely reading and understanding, inventorying, and retrieving data relating to character education values in Sabai Nan Aluih's kaba and adoption when reading appreciation. The technique of analyzing the data of this study, namely data that has been collected and classified, is then analyzed based on theory. The method used is descriptive method, according to the purpose of the study. Based on the results of the study, the values of character education studied in kaba Sabai Nan Aluih by M. Rasyid Manggis Dt. Rajo Penghulu found. First, data that contains the value of honest character education. Second, the data that contains the value of the education of the character of hard work. Third, data that contains the value of Mandiri character education. Fourth, data that contains the value of Democratic character education. Fifth, the data containing the values of peace-loving character education. Sixth, the data that contains the value of social care education. ABSTRACTThis study revealed the contribution of reading comprehension skills toward writing skill related to the description texts of that made by grade VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang. The purpose of this study was categorized into three-part. First, to describe the writing skills of the description text of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang. Second, to describe the reading skills of students in grade VII of SMP Negeri 7 Padang.. Third, to describe the contribution of reading comprehension skill to the writing skill of the description texts of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang. This type of study was quantitative with descriptive methods. The design used in this study was the contribution design. The population of this study was students of class VII SMP Negeri 7 Padang in the 2018/2019 academic year about 251 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling 15% of the population that was 40 students. The data of this study were in the form of scores on reading comprehension skill test scores and scores on writing description text skill. The data were obtained through two types of tests namely objective tests to measure the comprehension of reading skill and performance tests to measure description text writing skill. There were three results of this study. First, the description writing skill of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang was in good qualifications (B) with an average of 76.80. Second, reading comprehension skill of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang was in good qualifications (B) with an average of 82.50. Third, there was a contribution to reading comprehension text skill on the ability to write description texts of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang with percentage 42, 51%. ABSTRACTÂ The research aimsÂ to describe genericÂ structureÂ and languageÂ features of procedureÂ textsÂ byÂ seventhÂ grade students in SMP Negeri 1 Kota Solok.Â TheÂ methodÂ thatÂ isÂ used isÂ descriptiveÂ qualitative method. TheÂ dataÂ ofÂ theÂ researchÂ areÂ procedure textsÂ collectedÂ inÂ many sourcesÂ suchÂ asÂ theÂ documentsÂ ofÂ 32Â textÂ procedureÂ writtenÂ byÂ the students. The instrument ofÂ thisÂ research isÂ theÂ researcher her self.Â DataÂ were analyzedÂ byÂ describing,Â analyzing,Â andÂ discussingÂ the dataÂ towardÂ theÂ theory.Â Based onÂ theÂ resultsÂ ofÂ the study,Â thereÂ areÂ two thingsÂ thatÂ canÂ beÂ concluded.Â First,Â the seventhÂ gradeÂ studentsÂ inÂ SMP NegeriÂ 1 Kota Solok haveÂ usedÂ the fiveÂ genericÂ structureÂ ofÂ procedure text inÂ writing.Â TheÂ genericÂ structuresÂ of ofÂ procedureÂ textÂ are title, purpose, tool or meterial, and closing.Â It is provenÂ byÂ 32 procedureÂ textsÂ thatÂ haveÂ been analyzed,Â thereÂ areÂ all texts have titles, tools, and materials, as well working steps,Â only 8 texts that have a purpose.Â Students have not been able to write a good closing in making the procedure text. This is evident from 32 texts analyzed only 6 texts that have a cover. Second, in terms of language. The happiness analyzed is three, namely diction, conjunction, and imperative sentences. Of the 32 research data found 4,099 the number of diction consisting of 3,949 standard diction and 150 diction which are not standard. From 32 research data found 436 number of conjunctions consisting of 420 uses of precision conjunctions and 16 improper conjunctions. Â Kata Kunci:Â Struktur Teks, Diksi Teks, Konjungsi Teks

ABSTRACTÂ The purpose of this study is three. First, describing reading skills understanding the text description of class VII students of SMP Negeri 33 Padang. Second, describe the writing skills of description text for class VII students of SMP Negeri 33 Padang. Third, describe the correlation of reading text description understanding with writing text description skills of class VII students of SMP Negeri 33 Padang. The population of this study was seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 33 Padang who were registered in the 2018/2019 school year with 192 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 25% of the population, which is 48 students. Based on data analysis and discussion, three research results are obtained as follows. First, reading skills understanding the text description of class VII students of SMP Negeri 33 Padang in good qualifications. This can be seen from the acquisition of a calculated average of 81.35. Second, the writing text description skills of class VII students of SMP Negeri 33 Padang are in good qualification. This can be seen from the acquisition of a calculated average of 77.15. Third, there is a significant correlation between reading skills in the description of text description and writing text description skills of class VII students of SMP Negeri 33 Padang in the n-1 freedom degree and 95% significant level. H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted because the test results prove that the tcount is greater than t table, namely (4.51> 1.68).Â Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Deskripsi
