Abstract

This article is to (1) describe the persentage rate in relationship (2) betwenn Batak Toba and Batak Mandailing Languange, counting the time space when these two languanges were once separated, (3) to the describe the sound correspondence between Batak Toba and Batak Mandailing languange. This research’s data is two hundred Swadesh words added with twohundred cultural words as qualitatif proff. These four hundred words is also used as the instrument of this research. First, the amount of related words between Batak Toba and Batak Mandailing languange are 128 words and the paersentage rate between those two languange is 64%. Second, the time space between Batak Toba and Batak Mandailing languange is 1027 years ago, counting from now (2013). Third, the proofs/evidences of sound correspondence between Batak Toba and Batak Mandailing languange.

Abstract

This research had a purpose to describe Social Structure and Function of Legend of Sampuraga Story. The theory used by researchers in this research was folklore theory. The type of this research is qualitative research with description method which is explaining facts explicitly obtained from research object. To be able to describe the Social Structure and Function of the Legend of Sampuraga, this research is done by analyzing the data as an object with the following steps. (1) to describe the Structure of Folklore Legend of Sampuraga. (2) to describe the socio-function of the folklore of the Samapuraga legend. Structures are elements that build a ceruta, there are elements that are (1) characterizations, (2) style of language, (3) events and plot, (4) point of view, (5) background, and (6) theme and mandate. Furthermore, social function is a form of community belief to folklore they have and become a separate function in their social life. The social functions are (1) as a means of entertainment, (2) as a means of education (3) a means of social control, (4) social solidarity inauguration, and (5) group identity. Based on data analysis conducted, it can be concluded that there are only 5 elements in the Structure of Folklore Legend because the point of view is not found in the folklore Legend Sampuraga. All the social functions described above apply to the community of folklore owner Legend Sampuraga.Keywords: folklore, sampuraga, social function

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the form of compliance and violations of the politeness in the utterances of Waktu Indonesia Timur host on NET TV. The type of this research is qualitative research by using analysis of descriptive method.The sources of this research is the utterances of Waktu Indonesia Timurhost. The findings of this study are (1) compliance with the principle of politeness in the utterances of the host in “Waktu Indonesia Timur” was found as many as 321 data consisting of compliance oftact maxim, generosity maxim, approbation maxim, modesty maxim, agreement maxim, and sympathy maxim; and (2) violations of the politeness principle of language in the utterances of the host in “Waktu Indonesia Timur” were found in 224 data consisting of violations of tact maxim, generosity maxim, approbation maxim, modesty maxim, agreement maxim, and sympathy maxim. Keywords: politeness,joke, Waktu Indonesia Timur

Abstract

This article aims to describe: (1) the structure of people's belief of agriculture expression and prohibition of farming in Kanagarian Lagan Hilir Punggasan Kecamatan Linggo Sari Baganti Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan : (2) to describe the social function of people's trust expression prohibition in Kanagarian Lagan Hilir Punggasan Kecamatan Linggo Sari Baganti Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. This research type was qualitative research with descriptive method. Informant in this research was determined by purposive sampling technique, that is by determining informant first. The background of this research was in Kanagarian Lagan Hilir Punggasan Kecamatan Linggo Sari Baganti Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. The instrument of this research was the researchers themselves recorders. The research data was collected through two stages, namely the recording of the oral tradition of the people's belief in the prohibition expression and the environmental stages of storytelling, the data validation using triangulation technique. Data were analyzed through the following steps: (1) data inventory stage, (2) stage of coverage, (3) data analysis, (4) stages of data analysis and discussion phase, (5) stage of reporting. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe (1) markers and markers in car advertisements in daily newspapers Singgalang October 2012 issue, and (2) the meaning of car advertisements in daily newspapers Singgalang October 2012 issue. The data of this study were car ads on daily newspaper edition Singgalang October 2012. Data analysis techniques of research is done by inventory data through daily newspapers Singgalang October 2012 issue, and then classify the data by grouping based on the theory that the next set, the data were analyzed by grouping data and mengiinterpretasikan by way of interpretation and restrictions based on a theoretical framework, and analyze data and discussion to draw conclusions. The findings of this study are semiotic signs in form of markers (signifier) and twenty-sign (signified) and twenty meanings contained in automobile advertisements on newspapers Singgalang October 2012 issue.   Kata kunci :    Iklan, Surat Kabar, Semiotika.

Abstract

This thesis aims to describe the structure and function of social beliefs of the people expression prohibition of pregnancy, child birth and childhood in Village Tungkal III districtsTungkal Ilir districtTanjung Jabung Barat Province Jambi. The data source of this research was obtained from one main informant and three supporting informants. The place of this research is in Village Tungkal III districts Tungkal Ilir districtTanjung Jabung Barat ProvinceJambi.Data collection techniques in this study were conducted using observation, interview, and record techniques. Based on the results of the study concluded the following points. First, the structure of people's confidence in the prohibition of pregnancy, childbirth, and childhood in Village Tungkal III districts Tungkal Ilir district Tanjung Jabung Barat Province Jambi consists of 2 structures, namely two-part structure and three-part structure. Meanwhile, for the social function of people's trust in the expression of prohibition in Village Tungkal III districts Tungkal Ilir district Tanjung Jabung Barat Province Jambi is to strengthen the emotions of belief, as a system of imaginary projections, educate, prohibit. Keywords: foklore, structure, social function, expression of prohibition

Abstract

The purpose of this study were (1) describe the process of forming reciprocal verbs, and (2) describe the meaning of reciprokal verbs in the Minangkabau language in the village of Koto Panjang Kecamatan Koto District Padang City. This type of research is a qualitative study using descriptive methods. The subject of this research is a speech that was obtained from an informant in the village of Koto Panjang Kecamatan Koto District Padang City which contains reciprocal verbs. Data were analyzed with the following steps: (1) transcribe data obtained from recordings, interviews, and observations into written language, (2) classify data based on the theory used, (3) analyzing and interpreting data based on the theory used, and (4) conclude the data. The results of this study are as follows. First, based on the process of formation, reciprocal verbs in the Minangkabau language used by people in the village of Koto Panjang Kecamatan Koto District Padang City can be classified into two types, (a) the process of forming reciprocal verbs through affixating, and (b) the process of forming reciprocal verbs through reduplicatison. Second, based on the meaning of reciprocal verbs obtained in the village of Koto Panjang Kecamatan Koto District Padang City found two, namely: (1) acts, and (2) conditions.

Abstract

This research was conducted to describe: (1) the types of speech acts ilokusi teen wird, (2) tells the strategy used in the speech act ilokusi at wirid adolescents, and (3) the context of the situation said in a speech act ilokusi at teen wird in mosque Nurush Siddiq Village Mount Pangilun Northern District of Padang, Padang. The data of this study is the speech act propagators in Nurush Siddiq mosque. The data source of this research is the language spoken in the dai teens wird Nurush Siddiq mosque Pangilun Mountain Village Northern District of Padang, Padang. Data obtained using recording techniques. Data obtained through recordings and classified based on the type of speech act ilokusi, recalled the strategy, tells of the context and linguistic politeness then interpreted and inferred. Based on these results, we can conclude that the activities teens wird Nurush Siddiq mosque Pangilun Padang District Mountain Village North is assertive speech acts, speech acts directive, expressive speech acts, speech acts and declarations. Strategies used tells Nurush Siddiq mosque preacher in the Village of Mount Pangilun Northern District of Padang, which directly tells the strategy with no strings attached, strings attached directly to the positive politeness, and strategy-spoken directly with strings attached negative politeness. Propagators in the context of the situation said in the speech act ilokusi Nurush Siddiq mosque Pangilun Mountain Village North Padang District said in a touchy situation relaxed atmosphere tends to use the strategy frankly recalled with strings attached positive politeness; said in a touchy situation likely to use a formal setting strategy frankly recalled with strings attached negative politeness; situation said the topic is not sensitive relaxed atmosphere tends to use the strategy frankly recalled with no strings attached; situation said the topic is not sensitive formal atmosphere tends to use the strategy frankly recalled with no strings attached.

Abstract

This research was a qualitative research with analysis method using sociology of literature. The sociology of literature used to know the format of comformity and factor’s that influence comformity in Dilan novel trilogy by Pidi Baiq. The data used were word, frase, clausa, sentences, and paraghrap. Source of researce is Dilan novel trilogy by Pidi Baiq. Data collecting method were (1) read and understanding about Dilan novel trilogy by Pidi Baiq with make a highlight regarding story that has the data, and (2) data intervension. The research result shown that two of comformity format in Dilan novel trilogy by Pidi Baiq is positive comformity such (a) active in the school, (b) like reading and writing, and (c) active for exstra activity beside school. Then negative comformity such (a) smoking, (b) not attend school, (c) fighting, (d) drug and alkohol, (e) prostitution, (f) money by force, and (g) free living style. Next, factors caused comformity was (a) attitude, (b) culture, and (c) social attend. Keywords:  Teen, Conformity, Indonesian Novel
