Abstract

This study discusses the origins of naming names in Kanagarian Jorong Batukambiang Agam District of AmpekNagari. This study aimed to describe the origins, values, and the function of the origin of naming names in Kanagarian Jorong Batukambiang Agam District of Ampek Nagari. Theoretical framework used are: (1) the nature of folklore, (2) forms of Indonesian folklore, (3) a legend as one of the oral folklore, (4) the values of the legend, and (5) the function of oral literature. The research methodology used descriptive method. Data collection techniques used is a literature study, recording, and take note. Based on the research, it can be concluded that four origins of naming names in Kanagarian Jorong Batukambiang Agam District of Ampek Nagari, among other things, that: Jorong Parik, Jorong Balai Badak, Jorong Pasar Batukambiang, and Jorong Alahan Siriah. Based on the findings, naming the origin Jorong Parik fall into the category of natural phenomena. Naming Jorong Balai Badak fall into the category of animals fauna that a rhino. Naming Jorong Pasar Batukambiang fall into the category of topography namely an inanimate object such as a stone. Naming Jorong Alahan Siriah fall into the category flaura namely siriah plants. In naming the origin of the ellipse in Kanagarian Batukambiang, found the value of moral and social values, while the legend for the function is as educate the community, as a collective pride as well as a tool firm of belief.Keywords: origins, values, functions and categories

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to (1) describe drifting off gender that is looked in women figurates in Bumi Manusia novel of Pramoedya Ananta Toer. This observation data is a quotation or a sentence that expert in drifting off gender, espesially is houched with woman figure that is found in Bumi Manusia novel. The source of data in this observation is Bumi Manusia novel of Pramoedya Ananta Toer, that created by Lentera Dipantara on 2010. The data is collected according to describtive with such steps: reading, indicating, noting down, and to investigate the data. The analysis of data is done, with such steps: describing, analyzing, interpreting, and concluding the result of the observasion. Invention of the observation is first, the women figure in Bumi Manusia novel is formed of main figure and close figure. Second, to drift off gender that is realized by woman figure exist of marginalisation, subordination, stereotype, hardness, and double burden work.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) the legend values of Queen Putri Kenanga in Nagari Singkarak Subdistrict X Koto Singkarak Solok Regency, (2) the social function of legend of Queen Putri Kenanga in Nagari Singkarak Subdistrict X Koto Singkarak Solok Regency. This research type is qualitative research by using descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews, recording, transcription, transliteration, and classification by recording interviews with informants in Nagari Singkarak Subdistrict X Koto Singkarak Solok Regency.  Data analysis were carried out with the following steps. First, Analyze. Second, Interpret data.Third,Inventory. Fourth, make a conclusion based on the results of research. Based on the result of research, it’s concluded the following matters. First, the values of QueenPutri Kenanga in Nagari Singkarak Subdistrict X Koto Singkarak Solok Regency.The cultural values contained in the legend of Queen Putri Kenanga were summarized in conflicts that occur in the five patterns of human relationships, namely: (a) human relationships with creators, (b) human relationships with nature, (c) human relationships with society, (d) human relationships with other human beings, and (e) human relationships with oneself.Based on this research, it can be concluded that Nagari Singkarak has high humanitarian values. Second, the socialfunction of the legend of Queen PutriKenanga is as a function of educating, bequeath, identity, entertaining and tradition.Keywords: cultural value, social function, legend, Queen Putri Kenanga

Abstract

This research aimed to; (a) describe the reduction of Risa Saraswati's Ananta Prahadi novel story text that is not found in the film director Rizki Balki Ananta, (b) describe the addition of Risa Saraswati's Ananta Prahadi novel story text contained in Ananta Director Rizki Balki's film story, (c) describe the varied changes in the text of Anisa Prahadi's novel by Risa Saraswati, contained in the text of the film Ananta director Rizki. This type of research was a qualitative study using descriptive methods. Analyzing technique used theory of ekranisasi or transformation. The results obtained from this study revealed 79 Ananta Prahadi novels by Rizki Balki, 32 text data stories for Ananta films directed by Rizki Balki. In the process of ekranisasi there are additions, subtractions and changes in variations, (a) the reduction of the novel story text occurs as much as 66 data reduction in plot and background, and 3 data reduction in characterization, (b) the addition of the novel story text contained in the film occurs as much as 22 data addition of plot and background, and 2 additional characterizations of data, (c) Changes vary in the text of the film story based on the novel story text as many as 8 changes in plot and background data, and 2 changes in characterization of characters. Abstract

This study aimed to describe: (a) the character and disposition of the characters in the plays Matrilini work Wisran Hadi. (B) the character and disposition of the characters in the plays Matrilini work Wisran Hadi. This study is a qualitative study using descriptive analysis method. Data of this study is to establish a form of characterizations of Matrilini which amplifies the shifting role and impact of the shift mamak roles in the plays Matrilini work Wisran Hadi. Sources of data in this study was 5 Drama: Contest Winners Jakarta Arts Council in 2003. Data collected by reading the plays Matrilini works Wisran Hadi, then inventarization of the data. Mechanical validating data by conducting detailed description techniques, and techniques of analyzing the data, inventory the data, interpret the data and draw conclusions and write a report. Based on the results of the study, concluded the following. First, the figures showed Mamak oriented attitude towards money and so recognize it as a mamak notch. Second, the impact of the shifting role in the longhouse mamak scripted drama is the impact on self Matrilini mamak and the extended family, such as the nephew and siblings. Keywords: Wisran Hadi, Plays, Niniak-mamak

Abstract

This research was written to describe (1) the realization of the types of conversation pairs in Mata Najwa dialogue discourse on Trans7 television, (2) the realization of the opportunity to speak in Mata Najwa dialogue discourse on Trans7 television, and (3) the realization of the nature of speech series in Mata Najwa dialogue discourse on Trans7 television. This type of research is a qualitative research with descriptive methods. The findings of this study are as follows: (1) conversational pairs in Mata Najwa Trans7 dialogue discourse are well realized in accordance with the theory used, and found the most types of conversation pairs are fragments of accusations and denials, (2) the opportunity for speech found in discourse Mata Najwa Trans7 dialogue is not in accordance with the theory used in this study, and the turn of the most widely spoken opportunity is seized, and (3) the nature of the speech chain in the Mata Najwa dialogue discourse is also not in accordance with the theory in this study, and the sequence that the most dominant in this event is the chain.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to decribe (1) the metaphor forms in pasambahan maanta marapulai at Nagari Tanjung subsdistrict of Koto VII Sijunjung regency, (2) the meaning of metaphor in pasambahan maanta marapulai at Nagari Tanjung subdistrcit of Koto VII Sijunjung regency, as well as (3) the context of metaphor use in pasambahan maanta marapulai at Nagari Tanjung subdistrict of Koto VII Sijunjung regency. Data of the research is the words in pasambahan maanta marapulai used by citizien at Nagari Tanjung subdistrict of Koto VII Sijunjung regency. The resource of data is pasambahan maanta marapulai from the beginning till pasambahan minta pulang. Data is gained using listening and conversation method, While techniques used is record technique and note technique. Based on the finding, there are fouty four metaphor consisted of 9 metaphor antropomorfis, 12 animal metaphor, 21 metaphor from conrete to abstract as well as 2 metaphor sinaestetik. The meaning of metaphor is based on literal meaning and meaning from the interviwee. While, the context of metaphor use consists of situation and culture context.

Abstract

This study was conducted to describe (1) the type of abreviation and (2) the formation of abreviation in the weekly newspaper of Padang Ekspres in January 2018. This research type is qualitative research by using descriptive method. This research data is a kind of abreviation (abbreviations, acronyms, fragments, contractions, and symbols) that exist in the news sentences of the weekly newspaper Padang Ekspres January 2018. The data sources of this research in the newspaper Padang Ekpres Weekly edition in January 2018. Based on the results of data analysis obtained two research findings. First, the type of abreviation in the weekly newspaper Padang Ekspres January 2018, found five types of abreviation, namely (a) abbreviation, (b) acronym, (c)fragments, (d) contractions, and (e) symbols. Second, the formation of abreviation in the weekly newspaper Padang Ekspres January 2018, consists of four processes. (a) The formation of abbreviations consisting of: the first letters of each component; first letters with conjunction, preposition, reduplication, articulation and word; first letters; and first and third letter. (b) The formation of acronyms and contractions consisting of: the first syllabus of each component; first of each component, first two letters of each component, the first three letters of each component, the first two letters of the first two and the first two letters of the second component together with the deletion; and the sequence of various letters and syllables difficult to formulate. (c) The formation of a fragment consist of: that is letters the last syllable of a word and partial splitting sequence. (d) The formation of letter symbol consisting of: that is symbol of letters that characterize size consisting of first letters of consolidation of component, letter symbol expressing data number, and symbol letters that mark currency. Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) the performance of formal sentence structures in oral communication of district-level legislative and party leaders in West Sumatra, (2) standard vocabulary performance in verbal communication at district level legislative and party leaders in West Sumatra, (3) the principle performance of courtesy in oral communication of district-level legislative and party leaders in West Sumatra; and (4) the performance of the principle of cooperation in the oral communication of district-level legislative and party leaders in West Sumatra. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data of this study are the utterances of legislative and party leaders in West Sumatra in oral communication. The methods and data collection techniques used are the referral method, with advanced techniques, namely the note-taking technique. The technique of validating data is a detailed description technique, namely describing in detail the data to be interpreted. Data analysis methods and techniques are carried out by identifying data, transcribing, entering data into a format, classifying data, interpreting data, and concluding data. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded the following matters. (1) The performance of the use of formal sentence structures in oral communication of district legislators and party leaders in West Sumatra is quite sufficient (66%) of 150 data. West Sumatra is quite sufficient (66.7%) of 150 data. (3) The performance of the principle of manners in oral communication of legislative officials and party leaders at the district level in West Sumatra, the principle of courtesy is quite sufficient (67.3%) of 150 data. (4) The performance of the principle of cooperation in oral communication of legislative officials and district leaders in West Sumatra is classified as good (81.3%) of 150 data. Keywords: Performance, Oral Communication, Legislative Officials, Party Leaders
