Abstract

This research investigates the impact of Duolingo's app on students' language ability in learning English. This research aims to 1) the ease of use duolingo application, 2) The benefits we get from the features provided by the Duolingo application, 3) Identify what improvements are visible in English competence. This research is a qualitative study to identify the impact of Duolingo application on student’s English competence. Participants were two high school students and two college students who currently use Duolingo regularly. The researchers conducted structured interviews to obtain rich details about their experiences. The findings suggested that Duolingo's usability, engaging features and systematic lessons has significantly contributed to their language learning ability, especially in terms of pronunciation, vocabulary and their confidence in using English. This research also emphasized the educational value of such an innovation in a digital era.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of the media that has developed to understanding of relational anti-bullying. Furthermore, this research uses a research and development (R&D) research model with the ADDIE development procedure. The number of subjects used was 30 children in the age range of 5-6 years. The results of this research, the media was declared feasible and effective because received score from material experts of 95% and media experts of 93.75%. So, based on the score obtained from the Wilcoxon test with score of 0.001. It means the significance result is less than 0.05, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, there is a difference of average results between pre-test and post-test. It concluded that the media developed is feasible and effective to use.

Abstract

This research is based on the problem of children's lack of ability when moving their fingers. This can be seen in writing activities where the fingers are not yet flexible when holding the pencil correctly, folding activities children cannot fold according to the instructions of the teacher and still need help to finish completely. In addition, there is a lack of varied activities to support fine motor development. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of alungpel (roll paste activity) using kokoru paper on fine motor skills in group A. This study used a Quasi Experimental Design research design with the type of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The subjects of this study amounted to 18 children in the experimental group and 18 children in the control group. Data collection techniques using observation sheets and documentation. The data analysis technique used was normality test using Shapiro-Wilk and hypothesis testing using Paired sample t-Test. The results of the hypothesis calculation obtained an Asymp. Sig value 0.000 <0.05. So in accordance with the basis for making the Paired sample t-Test test decision, it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and HO is rejected.  So from these results it can be interpreted that there is an effect of alungpel (roll and paste activity) using kokoru paper on fine motor skills in group A children at Pratiwi Karang Poh Kindergarten, Tandes, Surabaya.

Abstract

This research is about the influence of activities market day on the ability to work together in children aged 4-5 years who have a background in which the ability to work together has not yet developed. In this case it is hoped that through activities market day Children can develop the ability to work together. The aim to be achieved in this research is to determine the influence of activities market day on the ability to work together in children aged 4-5 years. The research method used is a type of quasi-experimental research (nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design) which was carried out at two institutions, namely Budi II Student Kindergarten as the experimental group and Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 50 Kindergarten as the control group with 15 students each. On test Mann Whitney U Test The results obtained were that in the initial ability test (pretest) There was no significant difference between the experimental and control groups regarding the ability to work together. And after giving treatment there were significant differences between the two groups. It was found that the experimental group had an increase. So it can be concluded that activities market day has an influence on the ability to work together in children aged 4-5 years.

Abstract

Bullying problems, especially in early childhood, still often occur and can hurt children's social-emotional development. Bullying prevention efforts need to be carried out early on, one of which is fostering empathy in children. Animated video media is considered an interesting and effective media for fostering empathy in early childhood. This study was conducted to develop animated video media for bullying prevention to foster empathy in early childhood. The research method used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate). The media was validated by material and media experts, producing analysis scores of 90% and 92.8%. The results of the study showed that the Wilcoxon test that had been carried out, namely the Test Statistics Wilcoxon Test. Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) showed a value of <0.001 so that p <0.05 or <0.001 <0.05, because the results of the significance were less than 0.05, Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. This shows that there is an average difference between the pretest and posttest results, which experienced an increase in score. So, the conclusion of this study, namely the development of integrated bullying prevention animation video media, is that it is feasible and effective to be used to foster empathy in early childhood.

Abstract

This research was conducted to overcome the problem regarding the use of learning media which is still insufficiently varied in increasing knowledge of diversity in early childhood. The importance of introducing cultural diversity from an early age to foster the character of respecting differences in children. The aim of the research is to determine the suitability of the media and determine the effectiveness of the East Java cultural diversity pop-up book media to increase knowledge of diversity in early childhood. This research uses a type of research and development with the ADDIE model (analyze, design, development, implementation and evaluation). Based on the tests that have been carried out, the results obtained are: 1) The media expert validation results obtained a score of 92.1% and the material expert validation results obtained a score of 95%, which means that the pop-up book media is included in the valid category and is very suitable for use. 2) The results of the effectiveness test, the Wilcoxon test using SPSS 25 obtained results <0.001 so that the results of significance were smaller than 0.05, so Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. There is a difference between the average pretest and posttest which has an increase. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the pop-up book media on East Java's cultural diversity was effectively used to increase knowledge of diversity in early childhood.

Abstract

This research was based on observations and interviews at TK Islam Bakti 6. The results obtained were that there were environmental concerns, one of which was waste management. This research aims to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of using Smart box educational game tools to increase environmental awareness in children aged 5-6 years. This type of research uses Research and Development with the ADDIE model. The subjects in the study were 35 children aged 5-6 years. The results of this research show that the Smart box educational game tool is feasible and effective to use. The resulting data shows that asymp.Sig (2-tailed) is 0.000 so p < 0.05, because the results of significance are smaller than 0.05, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that there is an average difference between the pretest and posttest, so it can be concluded that the use of Smart box educational game tools is effective in increasing environmental awareness in children aged 5-6 years.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of parents in developing children's reading habits to improve their academic performance. This study aims to determine the role, influence and strategies of parents on children's learning development and forming reading habits. This study uses a qualitative method with an interpretive paradigm in learning and readingData were collected through semi-structured interviews with parents and documentation. Then the data were analyzed and transcribed thematically. The results showed that parental involvement in reading activities was positively related to children's academic success. This study also highlighted the influence of parenting styles on children's learning motivation. The results of this study emphasize the importance of comprehensive interventions that target parenting practices and children's learning environments to optimize educational outcomes.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of children's speaking ability. Children tend to be less able to express what is in their minds, convey ideas, it is because they do not have too much vocabulary. This type of research is development or Research and Development (RnD). The development procedure in this study applies the ADDIE model procedure (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation).  The subjects of this study were kindergarten B class teachers from several kindergartens in Jaken District. The collection technique used a questionnaire. The data were obtained from questionnaires of media experts, materials and teacher responses. The results of the analysis on media experts were 83% with a very feasible category, material experts were 80% with a feasible category, and questionnaire responses from teachers were 83% with a very feasible category. This shows that Pop Up Flood media can make it easier for children to understand flooding and improve children's learning outcomes and can be used as media in kindergarten B class. Based on the results of this study, Pop Up Flood media can be used by teachers as an alternative media in the classroom to support children's learning activities.
