Abstract

3D printing technology is one of the new breakthroughs in the world of manufacturing. This principle uses layered modeling, which directly converts 3D data from computer-aided design (CAD) into physical prototypes. Additive Manufacturing technology itself has attracted a lot of interest as research material from industry to academia because it can provide manufacturing solutions that produce products with complex designs and reduce time without compromising print quality. Currently, the Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) process is the most widely used process in 3D printing due to its ease of operation, low operating costs and environmental convenience. This study uses the Taguchi method with quality characteristics the bigger the better. The experimental design used is L27 OA by analyzing the Signal to Noise Ratio SNR. The method is based on the principle of tensile strength, to determine the process parameters that greatly affect the ABS CCTREE filament. The process parameters used in this research are nozzle temperature, layer thickness, temperature based plate, print speed and infill pattern. The order of the most influential parameters in a row is layer thickness of 40,74%, print speed of 9,40%, nozzle temperature of 5,69%, temperature based plate of 5,56% and infill pattern of 4,36%.

Abstract

The Heat treatment process is carried out to change the mechanical properties of a steel. Changes that are expected to produce new better mechanical properties so that they can be applied to a mechanical system. One of the benefits that can be obtained is the increase in the value of the hardness needed. The hardening process carried out on S45C medium carbon steel material containing carbon by 0.45%. The heating process is carried out using an electric oven. The heating process is carried out using an electric oven. The heating process begins with heating the steel at several different temperature levels then followed by a quenching process with several different cooling media.  After the quenching process is carried out, the steel is tempered at a temperature of 500oC and measured hardness value using a hardness tester  , measurements on the HRA. From several parameters of heat treatment carried out obtained optimal values at a heating temperature of 8500C with brine cooling media. The value of the hardness of the material obtained is 68 HRA. In addition to an increase in the hardness value of steel, there is also a change in the microstructure, the changes in the microstructure that occur are the higher the hardness value of steel, the more the amount of perlite.

Abstract

Press Tool is designed to be able to make mass and uniform products in a relatively short time. One of the products that can be produced using a press tool is the supporting component of the pantograph jack. Pantograph jacks are used in the automotive industry. The need for this product increases along with the increasing demand for motorized vehicles, especially cars. The production stages of supporting components using a press tool include: trim stop, piercing, notching, bending, cropping and deep drawing. Press tool design methods include: determining the design and supporting dimensions, calculation, simulation, and analysis using solidworks simulation analysis. The thickness of the plate that is safe to use for the manufacture of supports is 3 mm with ST 37 material. The planning dimensions of the press tool are (320 x 250 x 217) mm. Press tool components include: shank, punch, dies, top plate, bottom plate, pressure plate, punch holder, stripper plate, guide pillar, guide bush, bolt, and guide pen. The materials used to make press tool components include: ST 37, ST 42, brass, HASCO standard, AISI standard, and Polman Bandung standard. The total force that occurs in the manufacture of supports is 442798.2 N.

Abstract

Welding (Welding) is an activity of connecting metals by going through the metal's liquid phase before finally solidifying and creating a connection. Welding techniques are increasingly widely used in building construction and machine construction. In addition to connecting metals, welding also has a function as a cutting medium. Welding and cutting is a job that requires accuracy. Welding work without tools will result in inaccurate results, so it requires an expert welder to get the desired results. The purpose of this research is to make a plate cutting tool called the Welding Fixture Table. This tool is used to help hold the workpiece in the form of a plate so that the cutting process is easy. This tool has the ability to clamp a maximum plate with a thickness of 6 mm of 750 mm x 610 mm with a weight of 21.6 Kg and can be adjusted to a smaller size, equipped with a sliding shift system on the table top to adjust the size of the workpiece clamping, as well as a system rotation which will make it easier for the operator to select the desired welding or cutting position.

Abstract

Currently, the technology for supplying water is still mostly using pumps with electric motor drives. Most of these pumps are dependent on electrical energy or fuel oil as the pump driving energy. One of the technologies being developed is the hydraulic ram pump. The hydraulic ram works on the water hammer principle. When the fluid flow is stopped suddenly, the change in momentum of the fluid mass will increase the pressure suddenly. This increased pressure is used to lift some of the water to higher ground. So a hydraulic ram pump is designed that uses the potential energy of water as its driving force. In designing the hydraulic ram pump that the author did, using a variation of the height of the air tube with a height of 100 cm, 80 cm and 60 cm with a diameter of 3 inches and an outlet pipe diameter of inch with a water source height of 0.5 m. From the experiment, the maximum pump discharge was obtained on an air tube with a height of 100 cm with a discharge of 0.010309 L/s.

Abstract

Data integration is necessary to facilitate the processing of reporting but there are still many local government agencies that have not implemented integrated information systems so that in the management of reports is done repeatedly and takes a very long time. Medical record data relates to regional retribution data and employee performance data; therefore, it is necessary that information systems integrate the data so that reporting processing is easier. Data relation between medical records and regional retribution services, there are as many as twelve types of services and relation of medical record data with employee performance, namely on reporting the implementation of activities carried out by veterinary medical officers on animal examination and treatment. In the development of information systems using prototype methods to create the system entry interaction and feedback from the system user to the information system developed to suit the user's needs. The results of evaluation with technology acceptance models obtained above 80% of users feel the ease, benefit, and acceptance of this information system according to the needs of the user.

Abstract

PT Hexpharm Jaya Laboratories is one of the companies that is part of Kalbe Company which is specially engaged in the development, production, processing, and marketing of drugs. The process of processing medicinal raw materials at PT Hexpharm Jaya Laboratories uses several machines, one of which is the SMG (Super Mixer Granula) machine. This machine is used to mix medicinal raw materials and is the initial processing process before it becomes a granule. The problem that often arises in this machine is the problem of replacing bearings. Bearings attached to the shaft section connecting the gearbox with granules are often subject to damage that causes production stops/breakdowns. This unplanned maintenance process has previously been tried to be overcome by calculating the life of the bearing and alignment shaft connecting to reduce vibrations, but the bearing still suffers untimely damage. In this paper, a system was created to predict when the bearings need to be replaced by recording vibration data that occurs. The purpose of this study is to obtain a system that prevents unplanned maintenance so that it does not interfere with the production process Using the MPU-6050 sensor the vibrations on the bearings are measured and recorded during the machine's 12-hour operation. The results are obtained by a predictive maintenance system that can prevent breakdowns that result in the cessation of the production process. The system is created by recording vibrations that occur when the machine is working and is used as a way to predict the lifetime of the bearing. The system successfully measures the vibration value of the bearing and can be displayed, helping the maintenance technician estimate the exact time for bearing replacement in the SMG machine.

Abstract

The increase in ????oil palm plantations has an impact on increasing plantation waste produced, one of which is palm oil and has a positive impact on the development of palm oil waste processing technology. Palm kernel crushing machine as one of the supporting animal feed productions can produce shreds with fiber and cake dimensions that are suitable for animal feed. However, the types of livestock require varying dimensions of fiber and meal chips. The purpose of this research is a more effective completion of the project 'Design and Analysis of Palm Oil Palm Oil Counter System with 3D FDM Product Spacer Cutter Thickness'. The design process of a machine component must consider the stresses and deformations that occur so that it can be known whether the components designed are of good quality or not. The five steps of the problem-solving process are as follows: 1) Define requirements, 2) Gather/analyze information, 3) Develop several options, 4) Select the best option, and 5) Implement the design. Design simulations and analysis were carried out on the components of the chopping shaft, spacer cutter, and compression springs. From the simulation results obtained the design data of the chopping shaft using steel material, dimensions Æ20mm/Æ16mm, and uniform load w= 0.24 N/mm. Analysis of maximum bending stress sB = 1.847 MPa, torsional stress t = = 0.103 MPa, and deflection fmax = 4.201 microm. The design of the spacer cutter component uses ABS material, dimensions Æ70mm/ Æ20mm with a thickness variation of 10-15 mm, and a compressive load of F= 100 N. Analysis of Von Mases Stress is 0.0319665 MPa and maximum displacement is 0.0000713021 mm. The design of the compressed spring components uses carbon steel, the wire dimensions are 2 mm, the inner diameter is 20 mm, and the length is 100 mm. The spring inspection analysis is positive.

Abstract

Stainless-steel passenger coaches are the most operated passenger trains in Indonesia, which are manufactured by the Indonesian railway industry, (PT. INKA), from its first launch to the last generation of trains. PT. INKA still keeps innovating to improve the performance of these trains. Nowadays, this passenger coach is being developed to reach a speed of more than 120 km/hour, while keeping the stability, ride quality index, and ride comfort index during operation. This new train would be called a stainless-steel new generation (SS-NG) passenger coach. To reach the target, one of the methods is redesigning the old bogie structure of the stainless-steel passenger coach. The purpose of this research is to design a new bogie for the SS-NG passenger coach and analyze its dynamics during operation at high-speed using multibody simulation. The result was then compared to the existing passenger coach (SS-2018) which was structured by the old bogie one. Sperling’s method was utilized for evaluating the ride comfort index of all designed trains. As a result, the SS-NG with a new bogie design showed stable operation and gave an acceptable ride comfort index based on Sperling’s method even though travels at 240 Km/h in speed. The results will be important for improving the performance of any train, especially the SS-NG passenger coach which will be fabricated by PT. INKA.

Abstract

Red brick is a very important building material in building construction. Red brick has a rectangular physical shape with a distinctive color, namely red. Red bricks are made of clay mixed with sand and water, then mixed evenly and molded as desired. According to the quality standards, red brick is said to be of good quality and quality if it has several criteria including having the required size, compressive strength, and water absorption capacity. This research was conducted to see the effect of the length of drying time after printing, the effect of heating time, heating temperature, and the surface topography of red brick. The data processing method uses the Response Surface (RSM) method using Design Expert 09 software. The results show the smallest compressive test value of 131.4 kg/cm2. The biggest value is 148 kg/cm2. The most significant influence on the red brick making process is the drying time. The longer the drying process will cause the water content in the red brick to decrease. The SEM results show that the effect of drying red bricks that experience longer drying will coalesce and crystallize more easily. Based on the analysis of the results of the study that a longer drying time will cause an increase in compressive strength.
