Abstract

Animation technique can be applied as a whole to the film or a combination of animation with the real world. Animated animal movements can look more realistic if they are based on real animal movements. The Nephila Iraunata spider has eight legs and a unique walking pattern. The method employed in the animation Spider joints was the inverse kinematics method. Animated Spider's walking pattern refers to the original walking pattern by using the frame-by-frame method. The design consisted of 3D character creation, Rigging, frame-by-frame animation, and motion implementation. Each base of the foot was measured using a protractor to determine the degrees of freedom. Character model created by using the Autodesk Maya application. Character rigging adjusted to the original Spider's body shape. The application of Inverse Kinematics used the Unity application with a focus on the base bone to the toe and adjusted according to the value of degrees of freedom. The curve of the original base bone angle with animation was compared using a tracker application to find out the level of similarity. Based on the results of the respondent’s responses, the level of accuracy of the spider animation is similar to the original spider (81.7%).

Abstract

Mental health is important because mentality greatly influences a person's quality of life. The mental hospital is the only government agency that provides MMPI test services in Bangka Belitung. The MMPI is a self-report inventory of 550 true/false items that have historically been used to assess test takers' personalities, as well as their personal and social adjustments. The obstacle faced at this RSJ is that it still uses a manual registration system to carry out registration services for participants who take the MMPI test. Automatically this causes an accumulation of registrants who want to register, especially since the registration system used still uses paper forms. Based on these problems, an information system is needed to facilitate registration and data collection. The method used is the prototype method which consists of the stages of gathering requirements, building prototypes, evaluating, coding and testing. System design is carried out using the Unified Modeling Language (UML) method which consists of Use Cases, Entity Relationship Diagrams, and Activity diagrams. System testing is carried out using the UAT BlackBox Testing method and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The results of the BlackBox test show that 100% of the system works perfectly, while the TAM test shows that 88.22% of respondents feel the system is easy to use and not complicated, 85.33% of respondents have an interest in using the system, and 88.33% of respondents feel the system provides benefits and has used for the registration process.

Abstract

Press Machine For Switch Assy EPB module is an SPM (Special Purpose Machine) with a special function to carry out the pressing process of EPB (Electric Park Brake) products, namely an electronically controlled parking brake, where the driver activates the restraining mechanism with a button. So far, the epb product assembly process uses a manual mechanism by pressing the parts of the operator. This process is still not optimal, therefore it requires the development of a new EPB assembly system to improve and achieve maximum production processes. In this paper, an EPB product pressing system has been made using a jig. The jig is designed and manufactured using a photoelectric sensor integrated with the PLC. This study aims to improve the Quality Assurance of each EPB product and increase productivity to be more stable. The previous EPB product assembly process was carried out manually by the operator and there were often errors in the form of installation discrepancies in the process. In this paper, a press has been designed and made with sequential system operation with a ladder language program stored in a PLC. Sequential will run based on limit switches and photoelectric triggers to detect every product that enters the pressing process. The results of this study the quality and efficiency of the EPB assembly process increased where the human error that caused product failure was reduced, besides that the tools made had advantages among idle time in the EPB production process could be minimized.

Abstract

The Republic of Indonesia is an archipelagic country, making ships an important means of transportation for inter-island crossings. Currently, ship hull construction still relies on fiberglass, which is not environmentally friendly. On the other hand, Indonesia is one of the world's largest producers of palm oil, leading to a significant amount of empty palm fruit bunches (EPFB) waste. If not utilized, this waste can cause environmental pollution. However, OPEFB fibers are now being used as a substitute for fiberglass in composite materials. Given the high demand for ships in Indonesia and the abundant supply of OPEFB fibers, research is needed to explore the potential of using OPEFB fibers as reinforcements in composites for ship hull construction. This study aims to investigate whether palm fruit bunch fibers can replace fiberglass in the shipbuilding industry. To determine the feasibility, the composite materials reinforced with EFB fibers need to be characterized. The properties to be examined in this research are the tensile strength and bending strength of the OPEFB fiber-reinforced composites with variations in fiber volume fraction and fiber length. The studied volume fractions are 20%, 30%, and 40%, while the fiber lengths are 4 cm, 6 cm, and 8 cm. The results show that the optimum volume fraction is 30% with tensile strength and bending strength of 12.35 MPa and 47.7 MPa, respectively. As for the fiber length, the best result is achieved with 8 cm length, yielding tensile and bending strengths of 13.3 MPa and 40.89 MPa, respectively. However, both tensile and bending strengths are still significantly below the minimum values required by the Indonesian Classification Bureau (BKI). Therefore, OPEFB fiber-reinforced composites are not suitable for ship hull construction.
