In a pregnancy that has no interference, it is expected that the birth of a normal baby, through a normal labor process, where the baby is born at full term, expulsion with hejan power, mother and uterine bladder contractions without experiencing severe asphyxia or birth trauma. The right to obtain midwifery services or care is one important aspect for health workers in order to provide better service. This type of research is phenomenology, which is to find out the experience of birth mothers towards inpatient midwifery care. There were six participants. The data collection process was carried out through in-depth interviews by distributing demographic data questionnaires and then recording them with a handy camera recorder. Data collection was stopped when the interview results reached data saturation. The results of the study found that efforts to facilitate labor and prevent complications that arise with care carried out such as midwife care before the baby is born by conducting examinations, installing IVs, stimulating to open the birth canal and presenting companions during labor and giving directions / encouragement of labor. Care after delivery such as fundus massage, support, cleaning the mother and checking the birth canal. Newborn care care by drying the baby, cutting the umbilical cord and doing bonding attachment so that the inner bond between mother and baby is getting closer. Based on the results of the analysis, it is hoped that it will be a source of knowledge and information for midwives in providing midwifery care to mothers in labor without neglecting biopsychosocial aspects and so that the level of public health increases. The results of this study can be used as an example or basis for conducting phenomenological research related to the same research problem.

Abstract

From the data of North Barito MPDN, it was found that the highest mortality rate of mothers and babies was in Muara Teweh Regional Hospital in 2023, with 6 maternal deaths and 17 infant deaths. This is due to the delay in the referral process for pregnant women and newborns with complications. Midwives' knowledge about referrals is essential to determine the right time to make referrals to help reduce mortality rates. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of midwives about referrals to the outcome of pregnant women at Muara Teweh Regional Hospital. This study used a descriptive correlative method with a cross-sectional approach. With a total sampling of 70 midwives who make emergency referrals of pregnant women. Data analysis using chi-square statistical test The results showed that midwives had good knowledge of 71.4% of referrals. The results of the chi-square statistical test obtained a significant p-value of 0.734 (>0.05) there is no relationship between knowledge and the outcome of pregnant women based on the type of delivery and a significant p-value of 0.092 (>0.05) there is no relationship between midwife knowledge based on newborn complications. There is no relationship between the level of knowledge of midwives about referral and the outcome of pregnant women at Muara Teweh Regional Hospital. Based on the results of the study, it is necessary to carry out further guidance on referral not only for midwives but also for pregnant women and mothers.

Abstract

Injectable contraception is the most widely used because it is practical, cheap and safe. The use of depot medroxyprogesterone acetate injectable contraceptives or combination injections containing the hormone progesterone has the effect of increasing glucose levels. Long-term use will worsen the function of the pancreas in producing insulin and cause serious complications such as diabetes mellitus, nerve damage, heart disease, eye disease and kidney problems. Objective of this research is To know the picture of blood sugar levels when the acceptor injects a combination of injecting progesterone at the Independent Practice of Midwife. This type of quantitative analytical research was carried out in January 2024. The research sample was 41 people who injected the combination and 41 people who injected progesterone. Data collection with acceptor form. Research Result from  the 82 acceptors, the maximum duration of use was ≤ 2 years, namely 50 people (60.98%). The highest parity was in multiparas, 54 people (65.8%), 74 people (90.24%) experienced weight gain. Only 2 people (2.4%) had abnormal blood sugar levels. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test, showing that the average blood sugar level of acceptors who injected the combination was 104.02 gr/dl and progesterone injected 114.39 gr/dl. Shows that the average blood sugar level of acceptors who inject progesterone is higher than those who inject the combination with a p-value of 0.930 (p>0.05), indicating that there is no significant comparison between blood sugar levels when injecting the combination with injecting progesterone. The results of the study showed no significant difference between blood sugar levels during the 1 month injection and the 3 month injection. Considering the influence of progesterone in increasing blood sugar, midwives should check blood sugar values periodically so that blood sugar can be determined.
