Abstract

Abstract The background of this research is the lack of students' interest in writing activities, especially writing explanatory texts. Writing is an activity to express ideas and ideas through writing media. These problems can occur due to several things, for example teacher and student factors who have an important role in the achievement of learning. Therefore, researchers try to provide solutions to these problems so that students' interest in writing explanatory text can increase. This study aims to describe: (1) the use of discovery learning method in class VIII students in learning to write explanatory text. (2) the results of the analysis of the students' ability in writing explanatory text using discovery learning methods. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The subjects in this study were 29 students of class VIII. The results of this study indicate that the use of discovery learning method in learning to write explanatory text is carried out in accordance with the planned steps. In addition, the students' ability to write explanatory texts in grade VIII was quite good and the final average score obtained was 77.9.

Abstract

Language is a communication tool that is conveyed orally or in writing. Language can be seen from speaking skills, for example the language used is good or bad. Indonesian is intended so that students can use good and correct language, can use polite and non-offensive language. The research conducted aims to determine the use of mother tongue in speaking skills in Indonesian language learning in the classroom. The method used is a qualitative descriptive research method with data collection in the form of observation, and recording tools, the observation function is to determine the speaking skills of students using their mother tongue in Indonesian language learning, while the recording tool is to determine the use of mother tongue in learning. In Indonesian language learning, students use their mother tongue more (Sundanese), because students think their mother tongue is more understood and understood. The results of research in class X 99% of students use their mother tongue. The factors that influence the mother tongue in learning are school environmental factors, environmental factors where students live, and the lack of vocabulary that students have so that students tend to use their mother tongue compared to Indonesian. The efforts made by this research are so that students can acquire vocabulary and be able to use Indonesian when learning by applying literacy to students by reading non-fiction and fiction books.

Abstract

This research was conducted because it was found in the short story "Love In Apple" by Nurillaiyah which has many figures of speech in each written story line. The researcher limits the analysis of this short story to the figure of speech contained in the short story. Through this research, the author has a research objective, namely to examine what figures are contained in the short story text "Love In Apple" by Nurillaiyah so that readers are able to gain knowledge about the elements of figure of speech that can be used as lessons and experiences in life to be used as examples in everyday life. For this study the authors used a research method with statistical studies to analyze the figure of speech contained in the short story, this research was conducted by reading the short story first, then analyzing and marking the text included in figure of speech, then from the data that was analyzed the researcher found There are various types of figure of speech contained in Nurillaiyah's short story “Love In Apple”, namely the comparative figure of speech, including association, hyperbole, simile and metaphor, then the affirmation figure, namely pleonasm. The conclusion is that the short story "Love In Apple" by Nurillaiyah is suitable for reading even by adolescents, adults and the general public.

Abstract

This study examines the intrinsic elements of the short story entitled "Senyum Karyamin" by Ahmad Tohari. Aim to meganalisis, describe, and interpret the intrinsic elements in the short story "Senyum Karyamin". The analysis uses a structural approach. Intrinsic elements or building elements in which are discussed are facts that exist in the short story and consist of themes, backgrounds, lines, points of view, figures, officers and then mandates. Research in the short story "Senyum Karyamin" uses a qualitative descriptive research method that uses a structural approach. A structural approach is an approach in the science of literature by the way it works to analyze the elements and structures that build literary works from within the story and look for the interrelationships of these building elements to achieve roundness of meaning. Processing data to use structural analysis techniques, short story intrinsic elements by identifying by reading and taking notes. Identify themes, plots, characterizations, backgrounds, perspectives, language styles and write footage taken from "Senyum Karyamin" stories. To analyze by interpreting the contents of the snippet taken from the "Senyum Karyamin" short story, reviewing or analyzing more in the contents of the snippet and describing it. From the results of the analysis, there are intrinsic elements in the short story "Senyum Karyamin", namely the theme, character, plot, setting, point of view, character and mandate clearly conveyed. In analyzing the intrinsic elements of "Senyum Karyamin" short stories can be used as a motivation for the reader.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi untuk mengetahui skenario dan implementasi pembelajaran menulis teks drama pada siswa kelas VIII D MTSN 4 Bandung Barat selain itu juga bertujuan untuk meningkatkan daya kreativitas siswa dengan menggunakan metode mind mapping. Menulis teks drama merupakan sebuah cerita yang dituangkan dalam bentuk dialog. Adapun rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini sebagai berikut (1) Bagaimana langkah-langkah pembelajaran menulis teks drama menggunakan metode mind mapping berbantuan media audiovisual (2) Kesulitan-kesulitan apa saja yang dialami siswa dalam menulis teks drama menggunakan metode mind mapping berbantuan media audiovisual. Peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII D MTSN 4 Bandung Barat. Pada implementasi pembelajaran menulis teks drama menggunakan metode mind mapping sudah sesuai dengan RPP, untuk kesulitan-kesulitan siswa dalam menulis teks drama yaitu disebabkan karena siswa tidak memahami unsur-unsur dan kaidah kebahasaan teks drama. Dari hasil penelitian yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan dari aktivitas siswa dalam mengikuti langkah-langkah pembelajaran metode mind mapping berbantuan media audiovisual siswa sudah melakukan pembelajaran dengan baik dan  dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran menulis teks drama dengan metode mind mapping siswa tidak bosan dan membuat siswa lebih semangat dalam proses pembelajaran terutama dalam menulis teks drama.

Abstract

Learning innovation in today's curriculum plays a vital role for more creative learning. One of the tools of innovation is through an approach or learning strategy. One of them is the application of a scientific approach which requires students to be active, critical and communicative. Thus, how does scientific approach work in text description at SMPN 3 Maja. The goal in this research is to analyze the achievement of success in implementing learning innovation, which is with scientific approach in text description at SMPN 3 Maja. The method for knowing the success of implement this innovation is descriptive qualitative by analyzing after learning with a scientific approach in the description text. Indonesian is a study that requires student to study many texts, one of which is a description text. The application of scientific approach to Indonesian study in the description text at SMPN 3 Maja after analyzing is difficult to apply because the student’s character that still belongs to the teacher, lacking the breeding of active and critical learning making a student has a strong passive character and tend to be difficult for self-study, and for introver student makes application of scientific approach not communicative. Therefore, scientific approach can be applied if the active character of student plays a role. The importance  of applying scientific approach support effectiveness in participation of student activation.

Abstract

In the era of globalization and the rapid development of technology, online games or entertainment in the form of online games and in the form of multimedia, have become games that are fun and in demand by many people. Online games have their own charm that is addictive or addictive. The tendency to play online games is what will have a negative impact on users, especially among students. This phenomenon is very influential on the academic value of a student. The amount of time that is wasted so that you can play online games makes study schedules and school assignments that should be done by students at home to be neglected. This research method uses quantitative research methods and questionnaires as a means of collecting data. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of online games on learning motivation of class XII students of SMK Plus Darusurur. The results of this study indicate that many students in class XII have online games and their academic scores are below the average score.

Abstract

Learning is one of the processes of activities that occur in the scope of schools carried out by teachers and students. Based on the syllabus contained in the 2016 Permendikbud, one of the subject matter contained in the 2013 revised 2017 curriculum is writing persuasive texts. Writing persuasive text means producing a text that contains persuasion to influence the reader to do something. Because in writing persuasive texts must be able to influence other people, therefore a method is needed during the learning process so that writing persuasive texts can be done by students in accordance with predetermined rules. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the treffinger method in learning persuasive text writing skills. Writing is an aspect of the skill used to communicate indirectly. In this study using the one group method with pretest-posttest design. The research stamp was 43 students of class VIII F. Data collection tools used were lesson plans, observation sheets and test questions. Pretest and posttest results showed an increase in persuasive text writing skills using the Treffinger method. The results of this study indicate the effect of increasing persuasive text writing skills using the Treffinger method in accordance with the purpose text of this study.

Abstract

Iklan adalah media pemasaran, membantu layanan, promosi suatu produk yang bersifat informatif dan persuasif. Selain itu iklan juga dapat memberikan pengaruh pada pendengarnya atau pembacanya, sehingga jika terjadi penafsiran yang salah. Sifat iklan yang persuasif memberikan berbagai macam tafsiran pemaknaan pada penutur bahasa. Ada iklan yang bisa diartikan secara langsung dan ada pula makna yang tersembunyi didalamnya. Sehingga menimbulkan kegagalan paham pada penyimak iklan tersebut, apalagi iklan yang ditelevisi yang masih menjadi primadona dalam reting penyiarannya memungkinkan iklan yang ditelevisi yang dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat luas dan menimbulkan gagal penafsiran yang luas pula. Maka dari itu peneliti tertarik mengkaji tentang iklan.Iklan yang dikaji oleh peneliti ini merupakan iklan salah satu partai politik. Mengingat pada tahun 2019 merupakan tahun politik di Indonesia. Banyak iklan partai politik yang hanya ditelevisi. Salah satu yang menarik perhatin adalah iklan Partai solidaritas Indonesia yang memiliki multi tafsir di dalamnya. Penelitian ingin menunjukan keinginan yang disampaikan dalam iklan secara mutlak atau entailment dan ungkapan-ungkapan yang tersembunyi untuk sesuatu yang berbeda yang ada di dalamnya atau yang disebut dengan implikatur. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif untuk mengkaji makna iklan yang terdapat pada iklan partai Solidaritas Indonesia.Hasilnya Pengkajian menunjukan bahwa implikatur ATAU umpatan Makna hati iklan partai Solidaritas Indonesia LEBIH mendominasi dibandingkan DENGAN Makna entailment .
