Abstract

Writing is a language skill in expressing main ideas or ideas in writing. Writing skills are not easy to do in learning, this is related to the level of writing at the highest level position. Learning must be done by choosing an approach that can promote students' critical thinking skills. The explanatory text is a text that can express students' ideas in writing about phenomena. Therefore, this study was conducted on the background of how the learning process of writing explanatory text with an approach that can provide a stimulus for critical thinking. The purpose of this study was to determine the explanatory text writing skills influenced by the HOTS approach. The research method used in this study was descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were 26 students of class VIII-B of SMPN 2 Margaasih. The results showed that 16 students got high scores, 7 students got adequate scores and 3 students got low scores. The results of the study concluded that the use of HOTS-based approaches in class VIII-B students could improve their explanatory text writing skills.

Abstract

Learning is a form of interaction between instructors and student which aims to achieve the expected learning. This research is motivated by the lack of interest of students in writing because student find it difficult to put ideas and ideas into the form of writing. This study aims to examine the scenario of negotiating text learning for students of class X MIPA MA exactly 38 Padalarang by using Think Pair and Share methods assisted by poster media, to examine the responses of teachers and MA students of class X to learning to write negotiating text using Think Pair and Share methods assisted by poster media, and to examine the difficulties experienced by MA grade X students in completing writing negotiation texts. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method, the results of this research method are described or described in accordance with the facts in the field, the subject of this method is 34 students of class X MIPA in MA Exactly 38 Padalarang. The result of this study based on the activities of teacher and student are in accordance with the learning scenarios that have been designed. Teacher activities are very good and student activities are very good. The result of teacher and student responses that the reseachers have observed are already in the high category, with the percentage of teacher responses being 62,5% and student responses 50,9%. The ability of student of class X MIPA in writing negotiating texts is quite good with a final score of 84,5 although there are still some student who still have difficulty in writing negotiating texts specifically regarding Indonesian spelling (EBI) and in writing.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the difficulty of students in writing descriptive text. Students are less confident in pouring ideas more and dare to describe them through writing. This greatly affects the low student learning outcomes. Researchers used quantitative descriptive methods, namely methods with the aim of describing, explaining, and analyzing the problems contained in a study. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether the jigsaw type of cooperative learning method can influence the learning outcomes of class VII MTs students in writing descriptive texts. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the type of jigsaw cooperative learning method for the effect of student learning outcomes in making descriptive texts. Class VII D students of TMI AL-BASYARIYAH 2 Bandung, totaling 43 people. The instrument used in this study was to test performance. The data of this research is the score of writing the results of the descriptive writing skills using the jigsaw cooperative learning model. The data were collected through a job test showing the structure of the description text. The average count of the descriptive text writing skills is 90.62, the diction elements of the description text are 76.56, the contents of the description text. The average count of descriptive text writing skills was 81.77. The use of the type of jigsaw cooperative learning affects the writing skills of descriptive texts for students, as evidenced by the results of the calculation of increasing descriptive text writing skills.

Abstract

Penelitian yang dilakukan di SMP YPAI Rahayu berangkat dari beberapa masalah dalam penulisan surat dinas. pembelajaran menulis surat dinas dianggap sulit karena kurangnya  perbendaharaan kosakata yang dimiliki oleh siswa, rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah kesulitan siswa dalam menulis surat dinas, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menjawab rumusan masalah mengenai kesulitan siswa dalam menulis surat dinas, metode ini menggunakan metode jigsaw, subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII A berjumlah 26 orang, teknik pengumpulan data meliputi lembar tes dan diolah menggunakan Microsoft excel, hasil data penelitian ini mendapatkan nilai rata-rata 82,7 sangat tinggi tingkat keberhasilan siswa dalam menulis surat dinas. Pada penelitian ini peneliti mencoba untuk evaluasi hasil kerja siswa yang yaitu menulis surat dinas yang masih terdapat beberapa kesalahan diantaranya. (1) penggunaan bahasa baku dan bahasa tidak baku pada surat dinas, (2) penggunaan dan penempatan tanda baca, (3) penggunaan huruf kapital di dalam penulisan surat dinas, (4) kelengkapan struktur surat dinas. Metode yang digunakan dalam memecahkan masalah tersebut yaitu metode deskriptif kualitatif. sampel yang diambil adalah siswa kelas VII A. Dari data yang terkumpul diperoleh simpulan bahwa pembelajaran menulis surat dinas dengan menggunakan metode jigsaw dapat membantu siswa aktif dalam menulis surat dinas dengan sangat efektif karena jigsaw lebih mengkedepankan kekompakan kerja kelompok dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Writing is a skill to put ideas and ideas into writing. Writing skills are not easy to do in learning, because many students cannot put their ideas and ideas into writing. Exposition text is a text that needs to express ideas and ideas when writing it. Therefore, this research was conducted on the background of how the learning process and the results of students' exposition text writing skills improved. The purpose of this study was to determine students' exposition text writing skills using a mind mapping model. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were 32 students of class VIII A at SMPN 2 Cihampelas. The results showed that 18 students got a high score, 8 students got a sufficient score, and 6 students got a low score. The results of the study concluded that using a mind mapping model in class VIII A students could improve students' skills in writing exposition text.

Abstract

Abstract The novel is one of the literary works that can be used as a forum for writers to express their ideas and ideas. The choice of diction and sentence structure and the use of speech in writing novels will be able to provide more interesting values and the writer's message is conveyed very well. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of simile forms in the novel "Bumi Cinta" by Habiburrahman El Shirazy by using stylistic studies. This research study uses data analysis techniques on the research object by reading the novel "Bumi Cinta" as a whole, understanding the contents of the novel, then finding words that contain simile in each sentence in the novel and describing it. From the research results of stylistic analysis on the novel "Bumi Cinta" shows that the novel contains a lot of simile forms.

Abstract

Language is an important aspect in communication activities. When communicating, the language used is not only verbal, but can also be written. At the time of writing, both writing for official activities, such as in teaching and learning activities in schools and informal activities, it is not uncommon to find errors in language. The error occurred because of the limited mastery of the language of the author, and errors in writing a word or sentence. This study aims to correct errors in punctuation, letter writing, affixation processes, and to find out the results of the analysis of the form of language errors at the phonological and morphological levels in writing explanatory texts for eighth grade students. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. The results of this study indicate that of the 38 explanatory texts, there were 33 errors, including: 21 or 63.7% errors at the phonological level and 12 or 36.3% errors at the morphological level.

Abstract

Abstract This article discusses learning to write short story texts using a process skills approach. The skill of writing short story texts is generally a skill that is difficult for students to master. Creativity in creating short story texts is often an obstacle for students. Similar themes and similar story ideas make the short story text of students less attractive. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of the process skills approach in learning to write short stories. This research was conducted on students of SMK Al-Ihsan Batujajar. The method applied is a quasi-experimental method. The form in effect is the pre-test design - the final group test. The sample applied in the study was 26 students of class XI Multimedia at SMK Al-Ihsan Batujajar. The results of the study concluded that the process skills approach was effectively applied in learning to write short stories. The results of the achievement of student scores found an increase after being given the process skills approach treatment. The mean score of the students 'pre-test was 47.4 and the average of the students' final test scores was 63.50. There was an increase in the students' mean score of 16.1 Keywords:        Writing Skills, Writing Short Stories, Process Skills Approaches Abstrak Artikel ini mendiskusikan tentang pembelajaran menulis teks cerita pendek dengan menggunakan pendekatan keterampilan proses. Keterampilan menulis teks cerita pendek umumnya adalah keterampilan yang sulit dikuasai siswa. Kreatifitas dalam menciptakan teks cerita pendek sering menjadi kendala oleh siswa. Tema yang mirip dan ide cerita yang juga mirip membuat teks cerita pendek siswa kurang menarik. Tujuan penelitian ini ingin mengetahui penerapan pendekatan keterampilan proses dalam pembelajaran menulis cerita pendek. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada siswa SMK Al-Ihsan Batujajar. Metode yang diberlakukan adalah metode quasi eksperimen. Bentuk yang diberlakukan adalah desain tes awal - tes akhir grup. Sampel yang diberlakukan dalam penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI Multimedia di SMK Al-Ihsan batujajar yang berjumlah 26 orang. Penelitian mengonklusikan bahwa pendekatan keterampilan proses efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran menulis cerita pendek. Hasil pencapaian bobot nilai siswa menjumpai pertambahan setelah diberikan perlakuan pendekatan keterampilan proses. Rata-rata nilai tes awal siswa sebesar 47,4 dan rata-rata nilai tes akhir siswa sebesar 63,50. Terjadi peningkatan nilai rata-rata siswa sebesar 16,1. Kata Kunci: Keterampilan Menulis, Menulis Cerita Pendek, Pendekatan Keterampilan Proses

Abstract

The enactment of the 2013 curriculum requires the active role of students in producing various types of texts, including exposition texts. The lack of students' ability to express their thoughts makes it difficult for students to produce exposition texts. This research focuses on two problems, namely: (1) how is the implementation of learning to write exposition text through Think Talk Write (TTW) in class VIII students? (2) what is the ability of Grade VIII students in writing exposition text through TTW? The research aims to describe: (1) the implementation of learning to write exposition text through TTW in class VIII students, (2) the ability of class VIII students in writing exposition text through TTW. Qualitative descriptive methods are used in research and utilize interviews, observations, and tests as research techniques. The research results show that (1) the implementation of TTW used by teachers has been carried out in accordance with the syntax of the learning model, namely by applying the think, talk, and write stages. (2) Students' writing ability is classified into good criteria with a percentage of 74%.

Abstract

One of the obstacles someone in communicating is the lack of language skills, so experiencing errors in language. Language errors occur in anyone, both children and adults and seniors, it depends on the person understanding the language properly and correctly according to applicable rules. Whereas in the use of language, children like to repeat the language they hear and then say it back to the speaker, so that language errors are more widespread because it is done repeatedly. But language errors occur because some people do it on purpose to be funny, to start, or to attract attention and to encourage others to think more intensely. This study aims to analyze language errors that often occur among school children or adolescents. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods that describe data about the language errors of school children im the city of Situbatu. The data in the form of the facts of the error were obtained using the observation method and the results of listening in the field, besides that the data collection techniques in this study used a recording tool to record all the informant's conversations in the environment. The results showed that language errors that occur in school children or adolescents are more dominant morphological errors, as well as the use of language that deviates by speaking using slang or Alay used in everyday life so that it becomes a habit
