Abstract

This study aims to develop audio-visual media in learning Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) for fifth grade elementary school students that are valid, practical and have a potential effect on improving students' conceptual understanding. The background of this study is based on the difficulties often experienced by teachers and students in conveying and understanding abstract and complex IPAS concepts, such as the material "Getting to Know the Earth". The available learning media tend to be monotonous and do not facilitate the cognitive needs of students who are at the concrete operational stage. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. The validity of the media was tested by material experts, media experts, and IPAS teachers, while practicality was assessed through limited and extensive trials in elementary schools. The effectiveness of the media was tested through a pretest-posttest test. The results of the study showed that the audio-visual media developed was in the very valid category (mean validation score> 85%), practical for use by teachers and students (mean practicality score> 80%), and had a potential effect on improving understanding of IPAS concepts, as evidenced by a significant increase in posttest scores. Thus, this audio-visual media is worthy of being used as an alternative for learning science in elementary schools to help students understand concepts in a more concrete, interesting, and meaningful way.

Abstract

This research and development aimed to produce a make a match-based flash card learning media that is valid, practical, and effective for use in fourth-grade IPAS learning. The study was prompted by a needs analysis which revealed that most fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 27 Palembang were not accustomed to using interactive learning media such as flash cards and experienced difficulties in understanding IPAS material, particularly the topic of states of matter and their changes. Furthermore, student participation in learning activities was generally low. The development process followed the ADDIE model, consisting of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through expert validation, student response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. Validation by three experts resulted in an average score of 92.5%, indicating high validity. Practicality testing through one-to-one and small group assessments yielded scores of 97.3% and 96.8%, respectively, categorized as highly practical. Effectiveness testing showed an N-Gain score of 0.77, indicating a high level of effectiveness. Therefore, the make a match-based flash card media is considered suitable for enhancing students’ conceptual understanding and engagement in IPAS learning for fourth-grade students.

Abstract

Abstrak This research abstract describes the efforts of teachers and students in implementing waste management learning theory based on the Project Strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile (P5) to support the Adiwiyata program at MIN 1 Bojonegoro. The P5 learning method, which prioritizes a sustainable lifestyle, is applied through the stages of introduction, contextualization, and evaluation, where students actively recognize, sort, and manage waste in the school environment directly. The teacher acts as a facilitator who motivates and guides students in the waste collection and management activities, so that students not only gain theoretical knowledge but also build awareness and character to care for the environment in accordance with Pancasila values. The implementation of this learning also supports the achievement of the Adiwiyata program's goals through increased student participation in maintaining the cleanliness and sustainability of the school environment. The results show an increase in students' environmental awareness and creativity in waste management, although there are still constraints such as limited facilities and teacher knowledge. Kata Kunci: Adiwiyata, Waste Management, P5-Based Learning, Pancasila Student Profile Abstrak Penelitian ini menggambarkan upaya guru dan siswa dalam menerapkan teori pembelajaran pengelolaan sampah berdasarkan Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5) untuk mendukung program Adiwiyata di MIN 1 Bojonegoro. Metode pembelajaran P5, yang mengutamakan gaya hidup berkelanjutan, diterapkan melalui tahap pengenalan, kontekstualisasi, dan evaluasi, di mana siswa secara aktif mengenali, memilah, dan mengelola sampah di lingkungan sekolah secara langsung. Guru bertindak sebagai fasilitator yang memotivasi dan membimbing siswa dalam kegiatan pengumpulan dan pengelolaan sampah, sehingga siswa tidak hanya memperoleh pengetahuan teoritis tetapi juga membangun kesadaran dan karakter untuk peduli terhadap lingkungan sesuai dengan nilai-nilai Pancasila. Abstract

Numeracy skills are fundamental skills that include understanding concepts, calculation skills, and the application of mathematics in daily life. This research aims to describe the numeracy skills of fourth-grade students in fraction material at SD 008 Palembang. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with instruments in the form of written tests consisting of multiple-choice questions and essays. The subjects of the research consisted of 27 fourth-grade students. The results of the study indicate that the numeracy skills of the students in fraction material are categorized as moderate, both overall. or indicators. Students are able to solve simple fraction problems, such as finding a common denominator and determining equivalent fractions, but still experience difficulties in solving problems that involve complex fraction operations and their application in word problems. This difficulty indicates the need for strengthening conceptual understanding through a more contextual and varied learning approach. This study recommends that teachers use more interactive methods and increase contextual practice problems in order to improve students' numeracy skills.

Abstract

This study aims to design and develop an ethnomathematics-based learning approach for multiplication and division topics for third-grade students at SD Negeri 72 Palembang using the Design-Based Research (DBR) methodology. The main issue addressed is students’ low understanding of multiplication and division concepts, which are often perceived as abstract. To overcome this, the learning design integrates local cultural elements, particularly the traditional marble game, as a concrete and familiar context for students. The study was conducted through three main phases: preparing for the experiment, design experiment (consisting of a pilot experiment and a teaching experiment), and retrospective analysis. The results show that the ethnomathematics approach through the marble game effectively enhances students’ understanding of multiplication and division concepts. Additionally, the study produces a relevant and applicable Local Instructional Theory (LIT) for implementing culturally contextualized mathematics learning

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Literacy Skills of Second Grade Students at State 89 Palembang Elementary School. In this study the method used was descriptive quantitative, data collection was carried out using an instrument in the form of an essay question test. 9 questions that were declared valid and reliable, 10 essay questions that were tested obtained 10 easy questions, in this study were 9 essay questions (1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9,10) the reason for retaining 9 questions was seen from the analysis of the trial results that had met the eligibility criteria and each question had met the indicators. Based on the results of data analysis and research conducted in class II SD Negeri 89 Palembang, it can be concluded that students' mathematical literacy skills in multiplication material are in the medium category. This is indicated by the average student score of 58.66 and the achievement of mathematical literacy understanding indicators with a percentage of 56%. Overall, this indicates that students' basic mathematical literacy skills in solving multiplication problems are still moderate.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical literacy of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 72 Palembang in the topic of division. A descriptive quantitative approach was used with 30 students as the research subjects. The instrument consisted of story-based math problems that were validated and tested for reliability. The results showed that students’ overall mathematical literacy was in the “fair” category, with an average score of 68.83. Specifically, 20% of students demonstrated very good ability, 26% good, 23.3% fair, and 30% low. Based on indicators, students’ ability to identify and formulate problems was relatively low (44%), while their ability to apply mathematical concepts or procedures (65%) and to explain solutions and interpret conclusions (62%) were in the fair category. These findings suggest that students’ mathematical literacy is not yet evenly distributed across all indicators and still needs improvement. Therefore, it is necessary to implement learning strategies that are more contextual, interactive, and focused on real-life problem solving, so students can develop mathematical literacy skills optimally and sustainably.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji upaya Jigsaw dalam meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa pada diskusi kelas mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS). Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik literatur review, yang melibatkan analisis berbagai jurnal dan artikel terkait penerapan metode Jigsaw dalam konteks pembelajaran. Studi ini menyoroti bagaimana metode Jigsaw mampu menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang interaktif dan kolaboratif, sehingga siswa merasa lebih terlibat dalam proses diskusi. Temuan dari literatur menunjukkan bahwa metode ini tidak hanya meningkatkan partisipasi siswa, tetapi juga mendorong penguasaan materi yang lebih baik dan perkembangan keterampilan sosial. Selain itu, hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif antara penggunaan metode Jigsaw dengan peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi bagi pendidik untuk menerapkan metode Jigsaw sebagai strategi efektif untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam diskusi kelas di mata pelajaran IPS.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penerapan konsep Deep Learning yang mencakup pembelajaran bermakna (meaningful learning), sadar (mindful learning), dan menyenangkan (joyful learning) di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI), serta dampaknya terhadap motivasi dan pemahaman siswa. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini menganalisis bagaimana ketiga konsep tersebut diimplementasikan dalam proses pembelajaran dan kontribusinya terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Data diperoleh dari pengamatan, dokumentasi, dan refleksi siswa selama proses pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setelah diterapkannya pendekatan Deep Learning, terjadi peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman konsep, motivasi belajar, dan partisipasi siswa dalam kegiatan kelas. Siswa lebih aktif, antusias, serta menunjukkan refleksi diri yang lebih rutin. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa penerapan Deep Learning secara holistik dapat menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang bermakna, reflektif, dan menggembirakan, yang pada gilirannya meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di tingkat pendidikan dasar. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan integrasi sistematis dari ketiga konsep tersebut dalam kurikulum dan strategi pembelajaran guru di MI. Abstract

The learning process carried out monotonously can cause low student learning outcomes. This is evidenced by the conditions at SD Negeri Tambahmulyo 01 where the average student learning outcomes obtained were 73% which is classified as low in the subject of science. The discovery learning model assisted by simulation replica learning media in learning that requires students to be active in learning by finding and investigating solutions to a problem so that results will be obtained that last a long time in memory. This study was conducted to test the hypothesis (1) There is a difference in the average student learning outcomes before and after the use of the Discovery Learning learning model assisted by disaster simulation replica learning media, (2) there is an increase in learning outcomes obtained by students with the use of the Discovery Learning learning model assisted by disaster simulation replica learning media. This study was conducted at SD Negeri Tambahmulyo 01 with a sample of 23 fifth grade students. This study used a quantitative Pre-Experimental research method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest research design. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used were normality test, Paired Sample T-test, and N-Gain test.
