Abstract

Background : Anemia is an unresolved nutritional problem in Indonesia. Data from the Babakan Health Center reported that 19.1% of adolescent girls at SMPN 5 Mataram had anemia, while according to WHO the acceptable threshold was <5%. One of the causes is the lack of knowledge about anemia, low adherence to taking blood booster supplements and there is no media to monitor the intake and adherence. Objectives : The purpose of this study was to analyze "The effect of nutrition education using anti-anemia logbooks on the knowledge and nutritional intake of anemic adolescent girls at SMPN 5 Mataram". Methods : Type of research is an analytical experiment with a quasi-experimental design using a non equivalent and non rendomized control group pretest posttest design. Population: all grade VIII anemia adolescent girls at SMPN 5 Mataram totaling 30 people and a sample of 28 people who were divided into experimental and control groups. Results : In the knowledge variable, there was a significant effect on the group using the logbook and the group without the logbook and the increase was significantly different between the two groups with p = 0.034. In the intake variable, providing education with the Anti Anemia Logbook (Go Mia) had a significant effect on energy and protein consumption with a p value of <0.05, however, the group that did not use the logbook (control group) did not show a significant effect, as did intake. Fe did not show a significant effect in either the experimental group or the control group. Conclusion : Nutrition education using logbook is effective to increase knowledge, energy and protein intake but not effective to increase iron intake.

Abstract

Background : Nutritional problems are still one of the problems faced by Indonesia. Malnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies are major nutritional problems facing Indonesia. Macro-nutrient deficiency occurs when the body lacks energy and protein, this is due to a gap between nutritional needs and nutrient intake so that it can cause a deficiency of micronutrients in the body which has an impact on malnutrition or malnutrition status. Inadequate nutrition is a condition of a lack of energy and protein intake, while malnutrition is a lack of energy and protein intake for a long period of time. Provision of Recovery Supplement (PMT Recovery) is a program aimed at overcoming the problem of malnutrition and malnutrition by improving nutritional status, fulfilling children's nutritional needs so that good nutritional status and condition are achieved according to the child's age. So that in this study the role of PMT is used in order to increase body weight and nutritional status of children. Objectives : The purpose of this study was to distinguish nutritional status during supplementation with supplementary food with acupressure. Methods : This research uses quantitative research type, with the research design used is Quasy Experiment with Pre and Post Test Control Group Design approach. The statistical test used was the Independent t-Test and Wilcoxon test. Results : The results of the study conducted on 3 - 16 July 2020 with a sample of 10 toddlers with acupressure, weight gain before and after PMT administration ranged from 0.2 to 0.4 kg, while the p value is 0.004 <0.05 then there are the difference between body weight before and after giving PMT. As for the Nutritional Status of the statistical test results obtained p value of 0.083 (> 0.05) which indicates that there is no difference between the nutritional status of children under five before and after giving PMT.

Abstract

Background : The metabolic syndrome (MS) as a collection of risk factors for cardiovascular disease and diabetes. One alternative food intake that can reduce the risk of MS by consuming synbiotics, which is a combination of probiotics with prebiotics. Prebiotics in the form of inulin, Fructooligosaccharide (FOS), and resistant starch cannot be digested in the small intestine so that probiotic bacteria will be fermented in the colon and produce Short Chained Fatty Acid (SCFA), so that hypoglycemic effects can occur. Objectives : To know the effect of giving synbiotic to blood glucose levels on MS. Research Methods : Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) with a pretest-posttest with control group design in metabolic syndrome patients domiciled in Mataram. A total of 24 subjects were divided into 2 groups: the treatment group by administering sinbiotic yogurt with kepok banana flour was 260 ml / day for 14 days, while the control group was not treated. Results : The Blood paired t test results showed differences in the mean glucose level in the treatment group before and after the intervention was 7.83 ± 21.319 mg / dL (p = 0.229), while the control group was -2.25 ± 18.202 mg / dL (p = 0.677). The difference in the decrease in glucose levels of the two groups is 10,083 ± 8.092 mg / dL (p = 0.226) which shows insignificant differences. Conclusion : There is no effect of sinbiotic yogurt to blood glucose levels in metabolic syndrome patients
