Abstract

Bahan ajar Botani Tumbuhan Rendah di Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas PGRI Ronggolawe Tuban selama ini masih berorientasi pada pencapaian pada penguasaan konsep, sedangkan pemberdayaan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa belum mendapat perhatian. Hal ini menyebabkan rendahnya keterampilan berpikir kritis pada mahasiswa. Keterampilan berpikir kritis dibutuhkan mahasiswa dalam pemecahan masalah dikehidupan sehari-hari dalam masyarakat. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis adalah Problem Based Learning (PBL). Dari permasalahan yang dikemukaan, maka perlu upaya untuk mengatasinya dengan mengembangkan bahan ajar berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir Kritis. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kelayakan (validitas) bahan ajar Botani Tumbuhan Rendah berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir Kritis setelah didesain.  Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan menggunakan model 4D yang terdiri dari 4 tahap, yaitu (1) define (pendefinisian); (2) design (perancangan); (3) develop (pengembangan); dan (4) disseminate (penyebarluasan), namun untuk tahap ke 4 tidak dilakukan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan angket. Validasi dilakukan oleh 2 orang dosen yang berkompeten dibidang ahli materi, ahli media, dan ahli bahasa.  Analisis data validitas dinyatakan dalam presentasi, menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata sebesar 88,1%. Dengan demikian hasil penelitian bahan ajar yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini dinyatakan valid, dan hasil penelitian bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa dengan mengembangkan Bahan ajar berbasis Problem Based Learning

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi atau sering disebut higher order thinking  skills  (HOTS) merupakan suatu kecakapan penting yang harus dimiliki oleh peserta didik pada society era 5.0. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi peserta didik melalui implementasi pendekatan pembelajaran SRETS (Science, Religion, Environment, Technology, and Society) dalam pelajaran biologi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksploratif dengan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan instrumen tes (soal), observasi, dan interview. Objek penelitian yang digunakan adalah 36 peserta didik yang duduk pada kelas X MAS Raudlatul Ulum Guyangan tahun pelajaran 2023- 2024. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan SRETS dalam PBL berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi peserta didik dengan perolehan nilai N-Gain pada kategori sedang. Perolehan tersebut dipengaruhi oleh adanya semangat peserta didik untuk mampu menyelesaikan permasalahan yang diberikan oleh guru serta adanya pemberian ruang kepada siswa untuk dapat mengekspresikan dan menghubungkan berbagai ilmu pengetahuan yang dikuasai oleh siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan media flipchart hasil penelitian etnobotani tumbuhan untuk kesehatan wanita di Desa Trimulya Kabupaten Sanggau. Media flipchart dikembangkan sebagai variasi media pembelajaran pada materi manfaat keanekaragaman hayati dan sebagai tambahan informasi tentang tumbuhan bagi kesehatan perempuan. Pengetahuan ini diharapkan dapat menumbuhkan rasa kepedulian siswa terhadap lingkungan dan sebagai upaya melestarikan tumbuhan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan tiga tahapan yaitu pembuatan media, validasi media, dan analisis data. Validasi flipchart dilakukan dengan menggunakan angket dengan skala likert dan dianalisis menggunakan rumus Lawshe. Hasil validasi flipchart diperoleh nilai CVI sebesar 1,00 melebihi nilai minimal 0,99 untuk 5 validator yang berarti flipchart valid digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the application of the student worksheet-assisted CROME learning strategy to improve students' cognitive learning outcomes on human excretory system material and to determine the difference between the application of the student worksheet-assisted CROME learning strategy and conventional learning strategies on students' cognitive learning outcomes. The type of research is quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control-group design research design. The research sample was class XI students at SMA Negeri 2 Bangli who were chosen randomly by lottery. Based on the results of random class selection, class the method in this research uses multiple choice tests related to cognitive process dimensions. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis and Anacova (Analysis of Covariance) to determine the application of the student worksheet-assisted CROME learning strategy to improve students' cognitive learning outcomes on human excretory system material and to determine the difference between the application of the student worksheet-assisted CROME learning strategy and conventional learning strategies on students' cognitive learning outcomes. The results of the hypothesis test show that the p value (0.0001) < 0.05 and the Partial Eta Squared (effect size) value obtained is 0.320, which means that the application of the CROME learning strategy assisted by worksheets on the human excretory system material improves students' cognitive learning outcomes by 32 %, with an increase percentage in the experimental class of 62% and the control class of 34%. Based on this data, it proves that there are differences in cognitive learning outcomes between students who were taught using the CROME learning strategy assisted by worksheets on the human excretory system and conventional learning strategies

Abstract

Salah satu kemampuan yang harus dimiliki anak untuk dapat belajar di abad ke-21 adalah literasi lingkungan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Awareness Training berbasis asesmen kinerja terhadap literasi lingkungan siswa kelas X biologi di SMA Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Quasy Experimental Design dan bersifat kuantitatif. Strategi pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling dari semua kelas. Pengumpulan data dilakukan sebanyak dua kali dengan menggunakan instrumen penelitian berupa soal tes dan survei literasi lingkungan, baik untuk tes awal (pretest) maupun tes akhir (posttest). Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah Independent Samples Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan peningkatan signifikan sebesar 0,000 < 0,05, model pembelajaran Awareness Training berbasis asesmen kinerja berpengaruh signifikan terhadap literasi lingkungan siswa. Berdasarkan simpulan penelitian, model pembelajaran Awareness Training berbasis asesmen kinerja memberikan pengaruh terhadap literasi lingkungan siswa kelas X di SMA Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung.

Abstract

Science literacy is very important considering its role in the development of science and technological advancement. This means that during the learning process, students only memorise ideas and theories, but are unable to apply the ideas they have learned. Therefore, a learning model is needed that can encourage students to construct knowledge in their own heads and understand scientific phenomena that also involve the general public. The purpose of this study was to determine students‘ science literacy through the application of socio-scientific issue-oriented problem-based learning in terms of students’ academic ability in biology learning. As well as looking for the interaction effect of the application of socio-scientific issue-oriented problem-based learning with academic ability on science literacy in biology learning of grade X students. The research design used was Pretest-Posttest Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The population of this study was Class X SMA Negeri 1 Wonomulyo consisting of five classes, samples used were Class X3 and X6. The results showed that (i) The average score of students taught with the Socio-Scientific Issue oriented Problem Based Learning model with a score of 70.29 (ii) The score criteria obtained from science literacy were in the High category. (iii) Science literacy of students taught with socio-scientific issue oriented Problem Based Learning learning model at high academic ability obtained an average score of 81.47 and students with low academic ability had an average score of 59.12. (There is no interaction effect between the model and academic ability on students' science literacy in biology learning.

Abstract

Learning is considered effective and efficient when it achieves a level of attainment that exceeds established standards. Innovative learning is a new approach or idea used to support students' development in the learning process and its outcomes. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of creative classroom learning models and new learning models. This research employed a quantitative method using meta-analysis on 22 experimental research results obtained from domestic and international academic journals. Based on effectiveness calculations by grade level, Class XI scored higher than Class X, with a score difference of 0.87. With an effect size of 1.72, Guided Inquiry was the most influential type of innovative learning. The syntax of this type encourages students to participate actively in learning. This indicates that innovative learning models have a significant impact on learning outcomes. Therefore, this learning model can be beneficial for biology education.

Abstract

In biodiversity material, innovative contextual media with variety is needed to capture students’ attention. This research focuses on developing and evaluating the effectiveness of flash card for biodiversity topics. The study follows Research and Development methods (R&D), ADDIE Approach consisting of phase Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The Subjects are students grade X at SMA Kristen Satya Wacana. In the analysis phase, 78% of students' difficulty with biodiversity topics, specifically in levels, distribution and the lack of existing flash card  media. Based on this analysis, flash card and aquascape media have the potential for development. In the design phase, flash card media, aquascape, LKPD (Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik) and test questions were created. In the development phase, flash card media achieved was very valid (91%) and the aquascape media was very valid (87%). Trial results demonstrated that both media were very effective (81%). These results can be implemented. In the implementation phase, it showed a moderate N-gain score of 0.57. In the evaluation phase, the students’ responses were effective (75%) and the teacher responses were very effective (95%) for biodiversity topics. In conclusion, the flash card and aquascape media are very valid and effective educational tools in learning.

Abstract

Teachers must be able to implement a curriculum that supports students in this digital era. Through the use of creative models in the classroom, educators can guide students' critical thinking abilities. A learning approach known as the “flipped classroom” combines online and face-to-face teaching. Before face-to-face teaching, online learning was thought to help students become more independent and develop their critical thinking skills. The flipped classroom became famous during the new normal era of the Covid-19 pandemic. The flipped classroom is here as a solution so that the learning carried out can still stimulate students' thinking abilities.  There are several other innovative models that can be integrated with the flipped classroom, including problem based learning, project based learning, and discover learning models. Several researchers have also innovated by developing flipped classroom-based learning tools, all of which have had a positive effect in improving students' critical thinking abilities.  This research examines literature from a number of journals that use the flipped classroom concept to help students develop their critical thinking skills. Based on the research results, students' thinking abilities can be improved by using the flipped class model in the classroom, either combined with project or problem-based learning, or by creating special tools for the flipped class.

Abstract

This study aims to overcome the problem of vegetable waste produced at Jenggawah Market by processing it into an environmentally friendly product in the form of eco-enzyme through the STEM-based Research-Based Learning (RBL) model. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach. This approach was chosen to describe in depth the process of integrating Research-Based Learning (RBL) with the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach in making eco-enzyme and its impact on student creativity. The results of the study show that the integration of RBL-STEM has great potential in equipping students to learn about vegetable waste fermentation to produce eco-enzyme. In addition, it can also foster environmental awareness. Thus, the RBL-STEM approach is worthy of being used as a contextual learning model that is applicable and provides solutions to real problems in the surrounding environment.
