Abstract

This research is based on the problems that exist in the junior high school 18 Padang, namely the learning model that is less varied, student competence is still low, and learning is teacher centered. The effort that can be done is the application of learning cycle 5E learning model that contains scientific literacy to additives and addictive substances. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the learning cycle 5E with scientific literacy on the learning competencies of Grade VIII students at junior high school 18 Padang. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a randomized control group posttest only design. The study population was eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 18 Padang 2018/2019 academic year consisting of eleven classes. The research sample was taken using purposive sampling technique, the results of which were selected class VIII.3 as the experimental class and class VIII.4 as the control class. The results of data analysis found that the competency data of knowledge, attitudes, and skills of homogeneous and normal learners. Hypothesis test results are known that knowledge competencies (2,60> 1,67), competency attitudes (4,26> 1,67, and skills competency (3,33> 1,67) So it can be concluded that the learning cycle 5e model with scientific literacy has a positive effect on participants' learning competencies in additives and addictive substances in the junior high school 18  Padang. Keywords: learning cycle 5E, sains literation, learning competency.

Abstract

The research problems at SMPN 25 Padang namely learning activities carried out have little opportunity to be active in communicating fellow students, the learning interest of students is lacking, there is no learning model charged with scientific literacy, it is not yet known the effect of learning models containing literacy on students' learning competencies. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of student learning competencies through the learning model of two stay two stray with scientific literacy at SMP 25 Padang. This type of research is experimental research with the design of the static group comparison design. The population of this study were all VII grade students of SMP 25 Padang. Sampling using a porposive sampling technique. Assessing the results of the two-class learning comparison, namely in class VII.4 as the experimental class, used the learning model of two stay two stray with scientific literacy, while class VII.2 as the control class. Based on the results of the students' competency knowledge research, the value of tcount was 3,92> ttable 1,67, the attitude competency was 81% for the experimental class, 72% for the control class and in the skills competency tcount 4,20> ttable 1,67. This shows that the hypothesis is accepted. The conclusion of the study is that the application of the learning model of two stay two stray with scientific literacy has a positive effect on the competency of knowledge, attitudes and skills ofjunior high school 25 PadangPadang.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research is based on the problems that exist in SMPN 18 Padang, students learning competencies are still low. Efforts that can be made are applying the learning model Power of Two with scientific literacy on digestive system material at SMPN 18 Padang. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in the competency of students through the model The power of twowith scientific literacy in the material of human digestive systems in SMPN 18 Padang. This type of research is experimental research with a randomized control group posttest only design. The population in this study were all class VIII SMPN 18 Padang registered in the 2018/2019. Sampling was done using technique Simple Random Sampling, which was chosen as the sample of the study was class VIII.6 as the experimental and  VIII.7 as the control class. The instruments used were in the form of questions posttest for knowledge competencies, observation sheets for attitude and skills. The hypothesis was tested using the t-test, can be concluded that the competence of learners knowledge tcount 5,72> ttable 1.67, the competence of attitude  value tcount 1,84> ttable 1,67, and the competency of skills value tcount 3.39> ttable 1.67. This shows that the hypothesis is accepted. Concluded that the application of model The power of two with scientific literacy can improve the competency of knowledge, attitudes, and skills of class VIII students of SMPN 18 Padang. Keywords: the power of two,  scientific literacy, learning competency

Abstract

On application Curriculum 2013 the learning more emphasize on approach scientific. One of model used by the teacher is PBL, but the implementation of the model has not been optimal in the learning process. The cause not yet optimal because there is no PBL-based teaching material available on Biology subjects. Based on the problems, the researchers have developed a PBL-based biological module bacterial material for Grade X senior high school students. However, the module that has been developed is unknown validity level. Therefore, the authors test the validity of the module developed. Assessment of module validity is carried out by validators who are experts in their respective fields of science, namely 2 lecturers majoring in Biology, Faculty of Math and Nature Science, State University of Padang and one of Biology teacher at SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung. Overall the average results of the PBL practice module based biological questionnaire on bacterial material for class X students of SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung were 3,49% with a very valid category. It shows that the modules that have been developed are very valid from the aspect of feasibility of content, language, presentation, graphics, and PBL on the evaluation of the validator.

Abstract

Education is a essential requirement for life. The need for education can be felt in all aspects of human life.  Education is inseparable from the activity of learning and the activity of  teaching and educational success is inseparable from the process of  learning and teaching. The problems often encountered in the process  of learning is the low results obtained by the learning learners.  One of the factors that influence the results of the learning outcomes is  motivation. The motivation of learning is an impuls that is in someone to  be more active and diligent in learning to achieve the desired learning  outcomes. This research is descriptive research of correlation that aims  to reveal how the correlation between motivation of learning and student  learning outcomes. This research was conducted in January in grade  VII SMPN 22 Padang lessons year 2018/2019. The sample consisted  of 30 students in one class, VII 5. Sampling technique is simple random  sampling, by drawing one class which was made of a sample.  The results of the study indicate a correlation between learning motivation and  the students' cognitive science learning outcomes with a value of r = 0,53,  the coefficient of the thitumg was 3,31 greater than the ttable of 2,02,  so it can be concluded that there is a significant correlation and positive  between learning motivation and students' IPA cognitive learning outcomes  in class VII 5 of SMPN 22 Padang.

Abstract

Curriculum 2013 push student to have the high order thinking skills (HOTS). But in the SMPN 15 Padang especially in class VIII, there is no available teaching material that can improve students high order thinking skills in the learning process. Therefore, HOTS oriented LKPD has been developed in the structure and function of  plant tissue material. The purpose of this research to know validity of High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) oriented student worksheet (LKPD) on structure and function of  plant tissue material for class VIII junior high school. This research is part of Plomp model that is development or prototyping phase. Data analyzed through quantitative analysis. The instrument of data collection using validation questionnaires. The product validated by 3 lecturers of biology and a natural science teacher of SMPN 15 Padang. Based on the results of the study obtained the validity of  LKPD 90.96%  with very valid category.
