Abstract

This research is based on the problems that exist in the junior high school 18 Padang, namely the learning model that is less varied, student competence is still low, and learning is teacher centered. The effort that can be done is the application of learning cycle 5E learning model that contains scientific literacy to additives and addictive substances. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the learning cycle 5E with scientific literacy on the learning competencies of Grade VIII students at junior high school 18 Padang. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a randomized control group posttest only design. The study population was eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 18 Padang 2018/2019 academic year consisting of eleven classes. The research sample was taken using purposive sampling technique, the results of which were selected class VIII.3 as the experimental class and class VIII.4 as the control class. The results of data analysis found that the competency data of knowledge, attitudes, and skills of homogeneous and normal learners. Hypothesis test results are known that knowledge competencies (2,60> 1,67), competency attitudes (4,26> 1,67, and skills competency (3,33> 1,67) So it can be concluded that the learning cycle 5e model with scientific literacy has a positive effect on participants' learning competencies in additives and addictive substances in the junior high school 18  Padang. Keywords: learning cycle 5E, sains literation, learning competency.

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this research to determined the effect of Sargassum sp. liquid organic fertilizer in the growth of spinach plant (Amaranthus hybridus L.) using hydroponic. This research used Completely Randomized Design with six treatments and four repetitions ie: A= comparison (AB mix 10 mL/L of water), B= liquid organic fertilizer 6 mL/L of water, C= liquid organic fertilizer 8 mL/L of water, D= liquid organic fertilizer 10 mL/L of water, E= liquid organic fertilizer 12 mL/L of water, and F= liquid organic fertilizer 14 mL/L of water. Parameter observed was height of plants, number of leaves, leaf surface area, fresh weight of plants, and dry weight of plants. Data was analyzed by using the Analysis of Variants (ANOVA)  and Duncan. The result showed that application of Sargassum sp. liquid organic fertilizer has been  an effect on height of plants, number of leaves, leaf area, fresh weight of plants, and dry weight of spinach plant (Amaranthus hybridus L.). However, the effect was not as expected to increase the growth of spinach plant.

Abstract

Handout can be presented with a magazine display with concept maps. Pursuant to this matter done research with purpose to produce form handout with magazine display which have concept map about interaction of living creature and its environment of student class VII SMPN 12 Padang valid andpractical. This research is a research development conduted at FMIPA UNP and SMPN 12 Padang using model of development of Plomp 2013, that is initial investigation stage, development stage or prototype making and assessment phase. Handout validated by 3 lecturers department of Biology FMIPA UNP, 1 teacher Biology SMPN 12 Padang. Data in this research, data obtained from questionnaire of validity test and practice test. Data includes are primary data. The research produced a handout with magazine display with concept map about the interaction of living creatures and the environment for student of class VII SMP which is categorized with value 4,45 and stated very practical with 4,28 value by teacher and very practicalwith value 4,49 by learners.

Abstract

The Nagari community of Kampung Batu Dalam as a community that lives around Lake Talang is a community that will get a direct impact from the existence of Lake Talang as a tourist destination in Solok City. In order to prepare for the Tourism Village, Nagari Kampung Batu Dalam needs to be equipped with knowledge and skills that will be useful for the Nagari Kampung community. Therefore, it is necessary to provide assistance to the people of Nagari Kampung Batu Dalam to increase public knowledge regarding pollution of lake waters, the impact of pollution and how to simply detect the presence of pollution in the lake. This activity was carried out in September 2021, and was attended by 15 participants from 10 youths representing the Batu Dalam community and 5 students from SMAN Batu Dalam. The results of the activity evaluation showed an increase in the knowledge of the Batu community regarding the conservation of Talang Lake and an increase in community skills in detecting simply the presence of pollution in Talang Lake water. In conclusion, this activity has been effectively carried out and can help the Batu Dalam community as an initial preparation towards Batu Dalam village as a tourist village

Abstract

Catfish farming produces waste products that can be utilized as hydroponic nutrients in plants because they contain nutrients needed by plants. Hydroponics is a method of farming without soil that can be done on limited land. Spinach (Amaranthus hybridus L.) is a type of plant that has high nutrition which can be cultivated hydroponic. The purpose of this study is to determinate the effect liquid waste of catfish pond as hydroponic nutrition in spinach (Amaranthus hybridus L.). The research is experimental study.The study was conducted in February-October 2020, in laboratory and home wire of Biology, FMIPA, Universitas Negeri Padang. This study used a completely randomized design with 5 and 4 replications. Parameters of this study was plant height (cm), number of leaves, leaves area (cm2), wet weight(g), dry weight(g). The data was analized by using ANOVA and BNJ test at 5% level.The results of the study showed that liquid waste of catfish pond is significantly different from the height plants, the number of leaves, leaf width, wet weight and dry weight of spinach (Amaranthus hybridus L.).Budidaya ikan lele menghasilkan limbah yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai nutrisi hidroponik pada tanaman karena mengandung nutrisi yang dibutuhkan oleh tanaman. Hidroponik adalah metode bercocok tanam tanpa tanah yang dapat dilakukan pada lahan yang terbatas. Bayam (Amaranthus hybridus L.) merupakan salah satu jenis tanaman yang memiliki nutrisi tinggi yang dapat dibudidayakan secara hidroponik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh limbah cair kolam lele sebagai nutrisi hidroponik pada bayam (Amaranthus hybridus L.). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari-Oktober 2020, di laboratorium dan home wire Biologi FMIPA Universitas Negeri Padang. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 5 dan 4 ulangan. Parameter penelitian ini adalah tinggi tanaman (cm), jumlah daun, luas daun (cm2), berat basah (g), berat kering (g). Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan ANOVA dan uji BNJ pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa limbah cair tambak lele berbeda nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, lebar daun, berat basah dan berat kering bayam. (Amaranthus hybridus L.).

Abstract

Hydroponic cultivation using a wick system is one of the techniques used to increase the production of spinach (Amaranthus hybridus L.). One of the disadvantages of hydroponics is the occurrence of nutrient deposition, to reduce nutrient deposition in the wick system is to apply nanotechnology to break down particles in the planting medium and nutrients used, that the particles become smaller and more easily absorbed by plants, and reduce precipitation in the wick system. This research was conducted using the RAL method (Completely Randomized Design) which consisted of 6 treatments and 4 replications and namely Control (Well water + AB Mix), P1 (Nano technology water + 100% AB Mix), P2 (nano technology water + 25% POC+75% AB Mix), P3 (nano technology water+50% POC+50% AB Mix), P4 (nano technology water+75% POC+25% AB Mix), P5 (nano technology water+100% POC). The data obtained were analyzed by means of variance (ANOVA) and followed by the DMRT test at 5% level. The results of this study are that there is an effect of the use of nano technology liquid organic fertilizer on the growth of spinach which can be seen in the highest plant at P2 with 29.975 cm, the highest number of leaves is at P2 with 34 leaves, the highest leaf area is in the control with 13,71 cm2, the wet weight the highest was on P1 with 17 gr, the highest dry weight was on P2 with 1.3 gr. The use of nano technology liquid organic fertilizer has an influence on the growth of green spinach which is cultivated hydroponically.

Abstract

Hydroponics is a method of agriculture in which earth is not used. Among the plants amenable to hydroponic cultivation is red lettuce. One disadvantage of hydroponic cultivation is the occurrence of nutrient deposition, particularly in the wick system, where the nutrient water does not move. A technique that can lessen the amount of nutrient deposition that occurs in hydroponic systems is required in light of the aforementioned issues. Nanotechnology is one of the technologies developed. The five treatments and four replications in this study were P1 = AB Mix 100 percent, P2 = AB Mix 75 percent + POC Nano 25 percent, P3 = AB Mix 50 percent + POC Nano 50 percent, P4 = AB Mix 25 percent + POC Nano 75 percent, and P5 = POC Nano 100 percent. ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) was used to analyze the data, and the Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DMRT) test at level 5 followed. The effects of nanotechnology-enhanced liquid organic fertilizer on red lettuce growth, including height, leaf area, number of leaves, fresh weight, and dry weight, were examined. The highest average plant is at P3 with a plant height of 36.42 cm, the highest average number of leaves is at P3 as many as 11.25 strands, the widest average leaf is at P4 with an area of ​​40.25 cm2, the average weight The highest wet weight was P4 with a weight of 17.01 g, and the highest average dry weight was P2 with a weight of 1.32 g.

Abstract

One of the weaknesses of hydroponics is the appearance of nutrient deposition. To reduce nutrient deposition in the wick system, it is necessary to apply nanotechnology to break down particles in the growth media and nutrients used so that the particles become smaller and are absorbed by plants more easily. Reduces precipitation in the wick system. This research was conducted using the RAL method (completely randomized design) which consisted of 6 treatments and 4 replications namely Control (Well Water + 100% AB Mix), P1 (Nano Technology Water + 100% AB Mix), P2 (Nano Technology Water + 25% POC+75% AB Mix), P3 (nano technology water+50% POC+50% AB Mix), P4 (nano technology water+75% POC+25% AB Mix), P5 (nano technology water+100% POC). The data obtained were analyzed with variance (ANOVA) followed by the DMRT test at 5% level. The results of this study were that the use of liquid organic fertilizer with nano technology had an effect on the growth of red spinach plants, this was seen in the highest plant in P4 with a plant height of 37.20 cm with the highest average number of leaves. at P4. Control and P1 with 28 leaves, the highest average leaf surface area was 19.95 cm2 in P3, the highest average wet weight was 2.85 g in the control, the highest average dry weight was in P1. 0.67g.

Abstract

The germination process of expired rice seeds is quite difficult because the seeds have decreased in quality due to expiration. Rice seeds (Oryza sativa L.) expired require increased viability to increase their germination. One way to increase seed viability is to use an invigoration material in the form of KNO3 by adjusting the soaking time and the concentration of KNO3 used. This study aimed to determine the best soaking time and KNO3 concentration to increase the viability of expired rice seeds. This research was conducted at the Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Padang State University in May-June 2022. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with two treatment factors. The first factor is the length of immersion with 3 levels, namely 12 hours, 24 hours, and 48 hours. The second factor is the concentration of KNO3 with 5 levels, namely 0%, 1.5%, 2%, 2.5%, and 3%. Each treatment combination consisted of 4 replications. The parameter observed is the vigor index. The results showed that the treatment of KNO3 concentration had a significant effect on the parameters of the vigor index of expired Cisokan kuniang rice varieties. The immersion time had no significant effect on the vigor index parameter. The interaction between immersion time and KNO3 concentration significantly affected the vigor index parameter.

Abstract

The use of fertilizers and pesticides provides various side effects such as environmental pollution and higher production costs due to the high prices of fertilizers and pesticides. Therefore it is necessary to look for other alternatives to control plant diseases. One of the safe and environmentally friendly control measures is to use biological control agents. Fluorescent pseudomonads are antagonistic bacteria that are widely used as biological agents for fungi, pathogenic bacteria and viruses. Biological control using fluorescent pseudomonads has been studied for its effectiveness in suppressing plant diseases. This study aims to collect and analyze articles related to the potential of fluorescent pseudomonads in controlling plant diseases. This type of research is research that uses the literature review method and collects literature using internet sources from the Google Scholar database. The stages consist of identification, screening, eligibility and acceptance. Based on the articles collected, it was found that fluorescent pseudomonads are potential and effective in controlling various plant diseases.
