Abstract

This article is the result of a study entitled The Function of Mangaho on Wuna Tribe conducted in the village of Wale-ale District of Tongkuno Muna. The problem in this research is to search the implementation, the function among the lives of Muna and how the model development of mangaho. The data is collected by observation and interview. There are two types of data, primary and secondary. Primary data is data obtained directly in through the community, while secondary data is data obtained through the available documents. The data is analyzed using qualitative data analysis. The implementation process of mangaho consists of eight (8) steps. The first is Kamafaka (consultative meeting Consensus), the second is Dehambi ganda (hitting drums), the third is Dohunsa Kampanaha (putting betel nut), the forth is Defofinda Anahi Kahubu (small children set foot on the ground), the fifth is Doehe saha saha hobhine be mohane (Syaha' men and Syaha' women standing), the sixth is Do mangaho haeati (the presentation of mangaho to the public), the seventh is Kabasano kasalamatino Liwu (read prayers for the safety of the village), and the last is Doeheho linda (implementation linda dance) and Dopogaatimo (farewell). Mangaho development model in the village of Muna in Wale-ale is human resource development. This is including increase knowledge about the traditional art of mangaho, and to bring out professionals tour guide in the art and culture. Other development model is the formation of traditional art cottage as a platform to delivers talents of young generation. To achieve all, we need the role of the government and other parties to provide capital assistance to support the development of mangaho. In addition, promotion of mangaho is highly needed. The promotion can be in the form of traditional art performance in order to attract investors fields of art and culture. Keywords: process, model development, mangaho

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena kian meredupnya berbagai legenda berbentuk tradisi lisan yang menyebar di nusantara. Hal tersebut disebabkan oleh kuatnya pengaruh kemajuan teknologi. Legenda Wa Sauleama pada masyarakat Kaledupa merupakan salah satu legenda rakyatyang keberadaannya kian terlupakan. Dalam penelitian ini masalah yang diteliti, yakni: pertama, bagaimanakah struktur cerita sastra lisan Wa Sauleama?; Kedua, bagaimanakah fungsi dan kedudukan sastra lisan Wa Sauleama bagi masyarakat Kaledupa?; Permasalahan tersebut dianalisis menggunakan analisis struktur dan fungsi sastra lisan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sastra lisan Wa Sauleama Kaledupa memiliki struktur internal dan eksternal. Struktur internal yakni, (a) penyajian yang terdiri dari, penyajian ketika akan menidurkan anak sebagai pengantar tidur, ketika mengadakan pemujaan kepada arwah Wa Sauleama; (b) unsur sastra dan struktur cerita yang terdiri dari; tema, alur atau kisah Legenda Wa Sauleama, tokoh dan penokohan dan latar tempat. Kedua, struktur eksternal yang meliputi (a) asal-usul; (b) penyebaran cerita serta (c) fungsi dan kedudukan yang terdiri dari: fungsi pendidikan yang meliputi fungsi pendidikan terhadap anak, fungsi pendidikan terhadap anak gadis yang beranjak dewasa, fungsi pendidikan terhadap pemegang jabatan tertentu di masyarakat, fungsi kepercayaan, serta fungsi sebagai alat legitimasi status sosial kelompok masyarakat tertentu. Abstract

The aim of this research is to observe social mobility of Java people as transmigrant community and Tolaki as local people in southeast Sulawesi. This study used qualitative approach, and carried out in January to July 2014. The key informants in this study are six people, Javanese farmers community leaders and local farmers, and javanese transmigrant farmers whose are social climbing mobility (upwar social mobility) and local farmers with social sinking mobility (downward social mobility). Research result show that vertical social mobility of Javanese transmigrant farmers through productions organisations, expertise organizations, and institutional village i.e. cooperative, farmers group and gapoktan, and political organization. Relations of productions on Java farmer and in the status peasant transformed from no land into farmer as land owner. However, the local ethnic has declined on social status through path of the culture system and marriage custom. Research result showed that through individual land ownership local people have easily for buying their land. Relations of productions is change especially for Tolaki people through transmigration program that change the communal land ownership to individual land ownership. Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the educational character values in katoba ritual advise on Muna ethnic Group Society at Muna regency. This research is qualitative. This research was conducted in several villages in Katobu sub-district of Muna Regency. The kind of data in this research is qualitative data. The data source consists of primary data and secondary data. The informants of the research were determined purposively. To gather information, both primary and secondary data, two techniques were used, namely observation, and in-depth interviews. Data analysis was done descriptively qualitative and interpretative. The results of this research showed that katoba ritualmeans repent and forswear to avoid any act having sin or bad action. Katoba ritual on Muna ethnic group society is the process for children, so it needs an advisor figure(lebe) to give advice and teaching the katoba participants. The advise involves 7 items, they are (1) do-soso ‘regreting’; (2) do-feka-kodohodhosa ‘avoiding the sin’; (3) do-tehikamokula moghane ‘obeying father’; (4) do-tehikamokula robhine ‘obeying mother’; (5) do-tehipoisaha ‘obeying older brothers/sisters’; (6) do-asiagho poaiha ‘loving younger brothers/sisters’; and (7) miina dae-ala haku naasi ‘not taking/eating people’s/goods/rights’. Katoba ritual is a local wisdom for Muna ethnic group in Muna Regency that has several educational characters meanings or values, and relevant to the pupose and function of character education, like teaching and improving the role of family to be participated in developing children’s attitude and potention. Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of ritual procession of poseriwu and to analyze the symbolic meaning of objects contained in poseriwu ritual procession on Muna ethnic community. This study uses descriptive qualitative data, in which researchers try to give an overview of the implementation of poseriwu procession and interpret the symbolic meaning of objects in poseriwu procession in Muna ethnic community. The results of this study show that: (1) The procession of poseriwu consists of two stages: kabubusino koburu (grave watering) and the reading of a prayer of the haroa turuntana held at the family home of someone who is being poseriwu; (2) The symbolic meaning in the implementation of poseriwu, especially the content of haroa turuntana is a traditional food of Muna ethnic community and is the completeness that must be provided in poseriwu procession in Muna ethnic tradition. Abstract

This study examines the Money Politic in the selection of Kendari mayor in 2017. The focus of the problem in this research is consisted of three, namely the influence of money politics on the choice of society, what are the forms of money politics and how the public view of money politics in the election of Kendari mayor. The purpose of this study is to know and analyze whether there is a political influence of money on the choice of society, to know and analyze the form of money politics and to know and analyze the views of society on money politics. The theory used in this research is the theory of Rational choice by Max Weber and the theory of needs by Maslow. Methodologically, this research is a qualitative research with data collection which is done with the technique of observation and in-depth interview. The results of this study found facts on the ground that the form of money politics with the evidence obtained is money, rice, 1 (one) set of sound system and a number of seats by the successful team is true, namely in Lepo-Lepo sub district of Baruga and Rahandouna subdistrict of Poasia, in Mataiwoi Sub district of Wua -Wua, Wawowanggu sub-district of Kadia, Mandonga sub-district of Mandonga, Powatu sub district of Powatu, Ponggaloba Sub district of West Kendari and every district in Kendari city. This behavior is influenced by factors such as poverty, societal ignorance of politics and cultural factors. The effect on the choice of society is not significant because there are pros with money politics and there is also a counter with the money politics in every election. While the view of money politics in Kendari mayoral election is very diverse that there is a positive outlook because in every election has become toxicity (already entrenched) and the second is negative because it destroys the democratic democracy because it is chosen not because of the ability, capability and morality of the candidate but because of the money. Abstract

Astronomical knowledge is one form of knowledge that is still owned by Muna People and always make this Astronomical knowledge as a benchmark in various daily activities, therefore in this study aims at describing the forms of knowledge of Astronomy, its function and inheritance in Muna society particularly the society who is domiciled in Kasaka Village, Kabawo District which is the location of this research. This research uses qualitative descriptive method, data collection is done by observation involved, in-depth interviews with informants and through documents relating to knowledge of Astronomy of Muna people. Data were analyzed as qualitative descriptive consisting of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Based on the results of research and finding of data in the field at the time of the research, can be disclosed various facts related to Astronomical knowledge, there are some forms of knowledge that Astronomy still apply in the midst of Muna society such as early determination of planting (agriculture), the reading of natural phenomena constellation of stars observations (maritime fields), the determination of certain days which are time well spent to develop an activity and the use of calendars based on the Islamic calendar, all of which serve for safety in all affairs. Abstract

This study aims at finding and describing the activities of rumpon fishermen in the village of Holimombo Jaya, Pasarwajo Subdistrict, Buton Regency. This research uses the functional theory of Bronislaw Malinowski that all human activities are actually to satisfy a series of needs of human beings instincts associated with their lives. Ethnographic method is the method used in this research that is using participant observation technique and indepth interview, then the data is analyzed to be described as research report. The results show that the activities of fishermen of the clumps of fishermen were conducted all the time, both in the east monsoon season (musino cimburu) of the west season (musino bhara), both day and night. Therefore, rumpon fishermen need the sacrifice of time, energy and material are not small. First, prepare the raw material for FADs; second, to make FADs; third, prepare equipment such as ship (kapala), machine (masina), newspaper (mina) and jaring (jare); fourth, take the catch; fifth, the distribution of catch and the sixth, the allocation of production. Abstract

This study aims to find and describe the house (laika landa) in Tolaki tribe community in Sandarsi Jaya Village and to know and describe meaning of the house (laika landa) for Tolaki tribe community in Sandarsi Jaya Village. This research was conducted in Sandarsi Jaya Village, District of Angata, South Konawe Regency. Data collection have done through observation (observation), indepth interview and documentation. The data obtained analyzed descriptively qualitative. The results of this study indicate that laika landa is a form of architecture in Tolaki tribe community in Sandarsi Jaya Village which is established on the pole and it is a temporary residence for people who work as farmers in fields. Besides, there are also houses that are established like laika landa, but the function is different with laika landa. it is functioned as residence settled for the community in Sandarsi Jaya Village which is also in the middle of the village. Abstract

This study aims to explain and describe the pattern of patron-client relationship between the owner of the ship, juragang and Ship's Men (ABK) and a revenue sharing system in the cruise Sailing Motor Surya Indah. Data collected by participant observation techniques and in-depth interviews. The data obtained were analyzed by descriptive qualitative. The data analysis is intended to simplify the data obtained so that the younger read and understood. The results showed that shipping activities from the planning stage such as borrowing a boat, determine the rights and obligations of borrowers in the shipping owners and sanctions provided if a violation is found. Furthermore, shipping activities continued with mustard and seek election to take charge of the commodity as well as in shipping. Once all the preparation is complete, then the process of shipping can be done. In the process of shipping, sailors looking for buyers of merchandise and returning home to the island of Labour. Profit-sharing system for the gob done by divided evenly. Before the results is done, all the expenditure during cruise and rental boats separated beforehand. After all expenditures in the calculations, then the net income earned. This net income divided by as many as six people according to the number of whole gob. Keywords: shipping activities
