Tulisan ini bermaksud untuk mengkaji transformasi dongeng Jaka Tarub menjadi drama Jaka Tarub karya Akhudiat. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perubahan interpretasi dan rekonstruksi ke dalam sastra Indonesia kontemporer. Dongeng Jaka Tarub yang ada dalam Babad Tanah Jawi bertransformasi ke dalam bentuk drama. Jaka Tarub karya Akhudiat merupakan drama parodi yang terdiri atas dua babak. Drama ini memenangkan lomba naskah drama versi Dewan Kesenian Jakarta, tahun 1974. Hasil transformasi akan dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan new historicism. Hasil kajian ingin membuktikan bahwa sejarah sebuah bangsa dapat dibaca melalui karya sastra. New Historicism berkeyakinan bahwa selalu ada kaitan antara teks dan sejarah. Pemikiran ini memberi persfektif bahwa “kenyataan sejarah” tidak lagi tunggal dan absolut, tetapi bisa bermacam-macam versi dan sudut pandang. Hasil reinterpretasi dan rekonstruksi dongeng Jaka Tarub merepresentasikan Indonesia tahun 70-an. Dalam konteks demikian teks sastra Indonesia yang merefleksikan sejarah dapat diposisikan sebagai pembacaan sejarah dari versi yang lain. Oleh karena itu, perspektif new historicism menjadi tepat digunakan untuk mendedah fenomena teks sastra yang demikian: yakni, dengan cara menyuguhkan kenyataan-kenyataan di luar teks sejarah yang mainstream.

Presidential and vice presidential candidates, Joko Widodo-Ma?ruf Amin and Prabowo-Sandi have been officialy registered as president and vice president candidates for Indonesia Presidential Election 2019. Both of president candidates gave a political speeches after registering at the KPU. Those speeches become a representation of their perception regarding presidential election 2019. That is why it is so important to reveal their political speech. This research used Fairclough?s critical discourse analysis. They both realize if the registration for presidential election just for the importance of Indonesian. Prabowo just give a different emphasis about KPU which have to guard the presidential election of 2019 that free from cheating. That point based on consideration if Prabowo as the president candidate who ever lose in presidential election of 2014 and has an argument if the defeat caused by cheating. Unfortunately, the commitment of pair of presidential and vice presidential candidate is still far from hope. The fact is everyday the community get a treated of bad political. Political that abuse each other and emmity. There is a parts who played the issues SARA to catch a sympathy the electors to get a dominance.

The Japanese language have four levels of language formality. The languages classified as Kenjogo (humility language), Sonkeigo (honorific language), Teineigo (usual formal language), and the last is Futsugo (daily language). The formalities in the Japanese language also shown in Japanese animation, anime. This study researched the utterance by Hana Miyakoshi in Aniplex anime titled ?WWW.WORKING!!? episode 1. This research focuses on discovering what type of and how Hana Miyakoshi utters the Japanese language used in the ?WWW.WORKING!!? episode 1. This study is a descriptive qualitative study. The result of this study is there are 11 data of Hana Miyakoshi utterances. Those 11 is consisting of 3 formal variants and 8 informal variants. Hana Miyakoshi uses a Japanese formal variant when attending the costumer of Wagnaria, and she uses the informal variant of Japanese language when she is communicating with her coworker

AbstractAsma Nadia is known as a very productive Indonesian woman writer. It is said to be productive because within ten years it has produced more than fifty books. The distinctive style of language, especially the metaphor of the author Asma Nadia in her book Sakinah Bersamamu is a metaphor of love in the quote of these beautiful wisdom words which will be used as data in this paper. This paper aims to describe the metaphors of love in Sakinah Bersamamu by Asma Nadia. The method used is descriptive-qualitative as a problem-solving procedure by describing the language style of metaphor in the quotation of Asma Nadia's wisdom words. Based on the data, there are ten quotes of Asma Nadia's loving wisdom words that utilize the matafora language style.

The title of this research is Derivation and Inflection in Taylor Swift?s Album 1989: A Morphology Study. The purpose of this research is to describe types of use of derivation and inflection in the album. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The paper lies on a theory proposed by O?Grady and Dobrovolsky. Based on the results, the data of derivation divide into six, i.e. noun changes to verbs (2 data), noun changes to adjective (1 data), noun changes to noun (1 data), adjective changes to noun (2 data), adjective changes to adjective (2 data) and derivation of compounding (8 data). In addition, there are 71 data that use the inflection of noun {-s/es}, 28 data inflection of verbs {-s}, 44 data use the {-ing} suffix, 30 data use the {-ed} suffix, 4 data uses the {-er} suffix, 1 data use the {-est} suffix or most and 4 data zero affixations.

Mashuri?s Hubbu is all about the life of a santri which was not always inline with the schools? rules. This novel takes a picture of a failed santri. The main actor of the novel, Jarot, have had not succeed of holding the schools principles. He broke the rules when attending lectures in Surabaya. This is a sociology of literature point of view paper. It figures out the city?s social realities which change the life of the actor. It also identifies how the novel get its social basic. In this sense, Hubbu is a social representation of reality. The novel provides values dispute when a santri live in outer world which is actually his real life. He should adapt to this different environment without losing his previous status? He can also be rolled up by seculary values offered by the life of the city.

Character Education Values in Novel Month After the American Sky. Talking about novel issues and character values that a good novel is a novel that has many benefits or has many good values. Therefore, researchers chose the novel as a study material. Novels taken as study material are novels written by Hanum Salsabiela Rais and Rangga Almahendra with the title "Split Moon in the Sky of America". From the analysis there are 19 character values contained in the novel, namely (a) religious, (b) honest, (c) responsible, (d) healthy lifestyle, (e) discipline, (f) hard work, (g) self-confidence, (h) logical thinking (critical, creative, and innovative), (i) independent, (j) curiosity, (k) self-conscious, (l) polite, (m) democratic, (n) nationalist, (o) pluralist, (p) intelligent, (q) helpful, (r) resilient, and (s) action oriented.

The history of modern Indonesian poetry often begins in the 1920s. The first modern Indonesian poem refers to the poem ?Tanah Air?/ ?Motherland? by Muhammad Yamin. The canonization of M. Yamin (1903-1962) as one of pillar modern Indonesian poetry was known from the contribution of A. Teeuw (1921-2012). And, the results of his research on Indonesian poetry continue to resonate in the spaces of literary and language education to this day (2018). However, there is still little attention that explains the process of transformation from old poetry (mantra, pantun, karmina, seloka, gurindam, syair, etc.) to modern Indonesian poetry. The data only explained the milestones of modern Indonesian poetry starting in the 1920s. Even though the history of world literature dived until the time Before Century in his explanation of the history of poetry. Such as the Gilgamesh epic written on the 3rd century BC stone remains of the Sumerians in Mesopatami or the Beawulf long poem derived from oral literature as the beginning of the history of Anglo-Saxon (ancient English) poetry of the 8th century CE. Referring to the not strict definition of poetry, this paper will review the oldest text of the inscription in the Indonesia archipelago (5th century AD) as a form of old poetry by examining the structure and typology, as well as the social history of Indonesian ancient people that produced the inscription text in viewpoints sociology of literature. Thus, the results of this study are also expected to offer an alternative historiography of the history of Indonesian poetry.

Puzzle is one form of verbal communication. Puzzles different from other types of communication. In puzzles, language is used in its function as a game. The language in puzzles used is usually used to tease, heckle, in packaged by slipping of tongue or phonetic forms of words. This research will explore the puzzle in its function as a game. Using the agih method using the determinant is an element of the language under study and a padan method that uses elements outside the language. The results of the study showed that there was creativity carried out by language users in using language in the form of puzzles. Konyol-humorik lingual icons in puzzles can be divided into several types, word play, punctuation, guesswork, questions, and discourse. The meaning in the form and type of the puzzle is very dependent on the context of its disclosure. This reinforces Halliday's statement that the text can never be released from its context.
