Abstract

Komunikasi massa di Indonesia berkembang pesat. Salah satu media massa yang paling diminati adalah televisi. Salah satu acara televisi yang paling diminati adalah program talk show. Tanggal 24 Agustus 2016 channel Youtube Metrotvnews memnyiarkan program Mata Najwa dengan mengangkat tema “Lelakon Antasari Azhar”. Tayangan ini dipicu karena terbitnya buku berjudul “Antasari Azhar: Saya dikorbankan” karangan Taufik Pram. Penelitian ini juga menggunakan metode analisis wacana dari Van Dijk yang memiliki tiga tahapan, namun peneliti hanya menggunakan satu tahapan karena fokus pada struktur teks dan bahasa. Penelitian ini menganalisis struktur teks atau bahasa dalam percakapan seputar talk show Mata Najwa “Lelakon Antsari Azhar” agar dapat diketahui ciri khas dari bahasa yang digunakan dalam program Mata Najwa. Dalam wacana “Lelakon Antasari Azhar” secara menyeluruh terdapat struktur makro, superstruktur serta struktur mikro dengan berbagai unsur - unsurnya. Wacana yang dapat disimpulkan dalam Mata Najwa “Lelakon Antasari Azhar” adalah penekanan kepada para penonton agar dapat mengetahui kebenaran di balik kasus yang menimpa Antasari Azhar.(Discourse Analysis Program "Lelakon Antasari Azhar"of Mata Najwa’s Talk Show on Metro TV)The development of mass communication in Indonesia is growing rapidly. One of the most popular public media is television. Moreover, one of the most popular television programs is talk show. At 24 August 2016, Mata Najwa has published talk show “Lelakon Antazari Azhar” on Metrotvnews Youtube channel. The show was triggered by the publication of a book entitled "Antasari Azhar: I was sacrificed" by Taufik Pram. This research uses discourse analysis by Van Dijk which has three stages, but the researcher only used one stage because it is focused on the text and language structure. This research analyzes the text or language structure in conversations surrounding Mata Najwa talk show "Lelakon Antasari Azhar" in order to know the characteristic of the language used. The results of the research "Lelakon Antasari Azhar" thoroughly there are macrostructure, superstructure, and microstructure with various elements. The discourse that can be concluded in Mata Najwa "Lelakon Antasari Azhar" is the emphasis on the audience in order to know the truth behind the case of Antasari Azhar

Abstract

Presidential and vice presidential candidates, Joko Widodo-Ma’ruf Amin and Prabowo-Sandi have been officialy registered as president and vice president candidates for Indonesia Presidential Election 2019. Both of president candidates gave a political speeches after registering at the KPU. Those speeches become a representation of their perception regarding presidential election 2019. That is why it is so important to reveal their political speech. This research used Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis. They both realize if the registration for presidential election just for the importance of Indonesian. Prabowo just give a different emphasis about KPU which have to guard the presidential election of 2019 that free from cheating. That point based on consideration if Prabowo as the president candidate who ever lose in presidential election of 2014 and has an argument if the defeat caused by cheating. Unfortunately, the commitment of pair of presidential and vice presidential candidate is still far from hope. The fact is everyday the community get a treated of bad political. Political that abuse each other and emmity. There is a parts who played the issues SARA to catch a sympathy the electors to get a dominance.

Abstract

This study examines the Functional structure of Model A.J Greimas In Legends Lanting Mihing. The legend of Lanting Mihing is a folklore from the Kahayan river basin. This legend revolves around the courage of the central figure gained the expertise of how to make Lanting Mihing. The purpose of this writing is to know the structure in the legend story of Lanting Mihing  the method in this writing is a qualitative method. To reveal the courage of this central figure then use functional structure theory proposed by A. J. Greimas. The results of Legend Lanting Mihing research led to a central figure named Bowak, there are 4 backgrounds in Legend Lanting Mihing ie background place, time, social, and psychology. Mandate delivered so that the younger generations do not forget the traditions that have been made by the ancestors, one of which way of making Lanting Mihing.

Abstract

This paper discusses use of Indonesian at public places in Kota Pekanbaru and this study aims to describe use of the language at public places and influencing actors. By using the descriptive analytic method and interpretative technique, data were analyzed with reference to literature review. The data of this study are words, phrases, and sentences used at public places media such as billboards, banners, and posters. The data are collected through observation and interview. The research findings reveal the most dominant phenomenon is the use of foreign languages and the use of Indonesian language that does not meet rules of Indonesian. The reasons for using foreign languages are: (1) respondents do not know that there is a regulation stipulating the use of Indonesian at public places, (2) they assume foreign languages have higher prestige, (3) they believe people like foreign languages better than Indonesian, and (4) they assume foreign terms are more commonly used. The reasons for misuse of Indonesian rules are: (1) respondents do not know Indonesian rules, (2) they assume Indonesian rules are not important, and (3) they believe that people do not cencern with the language rules. In addition, they tend to ignore rules of Indonesian. The linguistic landscape of the language of public spaces in Pekanbaru City informationally and symbolically shows that the existence of Indonesian is increasingly fading with the rise of the use of  foreign languages.

Abstract

EdyA Effendi is a senior journalist who wrote comment about AntasariAzhar, Nasrudin and PDIP’s engage in some evils. Antasari Azhar is a former head of Corruption Fight Commission  who was arrested and sentenced for 18 years punishment. The ex of KPK has been free from prison in debating program of couple of candidate of Jakarta Province Governor election on January 2, 2017. Antasari’s chatter got responses from social media users. Many of the written comments about AntasariAzhar are negative. This article aims at describing the form of figurative and language registers language register that used in expressing sarcasm metaphor in the comments of article “Wartawan Senior Bongkar Kebusukan Antasari, Nasrudin dan Permainan Jahat PDIP (Senior Journalist Reveals Antasari’s Evil, Nasrudin And PDIP’s Engage In Some Evils)” (www.idnusa.com).This study was carried out from January to April 2017. The method used is qualitative descriptive method.The data was analyzed by using discourse analysis technique.The result of the study shows that sarcasm metaphor that used in article to be data in the form of words and phrase. The type of words that used is adjectives, nouns and verbs. Besides, the language register used is based on the meaning and the language used. Language register based on meaning can be differed to be metaphor such as hoping, cursing, appealing and expressing. The language registers used are regional languages and foreign languages

Abstract

This study aimed at investigating teaching strategies and their implementation in EFL inclusive classrooms at one of the junior high schools in Curup-Bengkulu, Indonesia. To garner credible data as desirable, an instrumental case study was conducted by engaging two EFL teachers selected purposively at that school. Interview and observation were deployed as the techniques of collecting data. This study revealed that the teachers applied four teaching strategies ranging from active learning, peer-tutoring, cooperative learning, to direct instruction. Despite many more inclusive teaching strategies which were left aside, the limited extent of inclusion-related pedagogical knowledge and experiences, inadequate reflective teaching, and limited facilities and infrastructure promoting inclusive education, the EFL teachers had been able to implement the aforesaid strategies properly. They had demonstrated that they were sufficiently skillful at the detailed procedures of the implementation of the four strategies in the EFL inclusive classrooms. Further studies are expected to address the application of more instructional strategies for inclusive classrooms such as those suggested by Lawrence-Brown (2004). Revealing both qualitative and experimental data associated with those instructional strategies will be very contributive and meaningful.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi strategi pengajaran serta penerapannya dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di kelas inklusif di salah satu SMP di Curup, Provinsi Bengkulu, Indonesia. Demi mendapatkan data yang kredibel, studi kasus instrumental dilakukan dengan melibatkan dua orang guru bahasa Inggris yang mengajar di sekolah tersebut. Wawancara dan observasi digunakan sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Penelitian ini mengungkap bahwa guru tersebut menerapkan empat jenis strategi pengajaran, yaitu active learning, peer-tutoring, cooperative learning, dan direct instruction. Meskipun masih banyak lagi strategi pengajaran yang belum diterapkan, terbatasnya pengetahuan dan pengalaman paedagogik terkait pendidikan inklusif, belum dilakukannya pengajaran reflektif, serta fasilitas dan insfrastrukur pendukung pendidikan inklusif yang terbatas, dua orang guru bahasa Inggris tersebut sudah mampu menerapkan keempat strategi pengajaran tadi dengan baik. Mereka sudah menunjukkan bahwa mereka cukup andal dalam menjalankan prosedur secara detail ketika menerapkan keempat jenis strategi pengajaran tersebut dalam kelas inklusif. Penelitian selanjutnya diharapkan untuk berorientasi pada penerapan berbagai strategi pengajaran inklusif lainnya sebagaimana yang disarankan oleh Lawrence-Brown (2004). Mengungkap data kualitatif serta data eksperimen terkait berbagai strategi pengajaran tersebut akan sangat kontributif dan bermanfaat.

Abstract

Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah mengetahui makna simbol yang terdapat dalammitos Asal Mula Sungai Barito sehingga cerita tersebut dapat lebihterpahami oleh pembaca. Dengan demikian masalah dalam penelitian iniadalah makna yang terkandung dalam simbol-simbol yang terdapat dalamcerita mitos Asal Mula Sungai Barito. Kajian ini menggunakan metodedeskriptif-kualitatif dengan teknik studi pustaka. Pendekatan yang digunakandalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan strukturalisme Levi Strauss.Berdasarkan kajian dapat diketahui bahwa cerita mitos Asal Mula SungaiBarito banyak mengandung simbol berupa budaya Kalimantan seperti nagayang dapat berbicara yang merupakan simbol yang bermakna bahwa nagadipercaya merupakan penguasa alam bawah (air) yang dapat berkomunikasidengan manusia dan lain-lain.

Abstract

Di dalam upacara tiwah ini terdapat banyak leksikon yang berhubungan dengan upacara adat kematian. Leksikon ini mempunyai hubungan erat dengan nilai-nilai adat budaya suku Dayak Ngaju Kalimantan Tengah. Penulis tertarik untuk membahas tentang leksikon dalam upacara tiwah karena leksikon upacara tiwah suku Dayak Ngaju memiliki kekhasan tersendiri sebagai salah satu kekayaan bahasa dan budaya nasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengklasifikasikan dan mendeskripsikan leksikon upacara tiwah dari segi pelaksanaan dan peralatan yang digunakan dan mengungkap fungsi leksikon upacara tiwah sebagai salah satu kekayaan bahasa dan budaya nasional. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif melalui tiga tahap, yaitu pengumpulan data, analisis data, dan penyajian data. Leksikon dalam upacara kematian suku Dayak Ngaju diklasifikasikan menjadi dua, yaitu kegiatan dan peralatan. Leksikon upacara kematian suku Dayak Ngaju memiliki beberapa fungsi, yaitu sebagai cerminan adat budaya masyarakat Dayak Ngaju Kalimantan Tengah, identitas keagamaan dan spiritualitas Hindu Kaharingan, dan sebagai gambaran rasa kebersamaan dan gotong royong masyarakat Suku Dayak Ngaju.(Lexicons in Dayak Ngaju’s Death Ceremony (Tiwah) )There are many lexicons related to funeral ceremony of tiwah. These lexicons are closely linked with the values of the indigenous culture of Ngaju Dayak in Central Kalimantan. The writer was interested in discussing the lexicon in tiwah ceremony because it has its peculiarities as one of the language wealth and national culture. This study aims to classify and describe the lexicon of tiwah ceremony regarding the implementation and the equipment used and uncover the lexicon functions of the ceremony. The method used in the study is the descriptive qualitative method through three stages, they are data collection, data analysis, and data presentation. Lexicon in Ngaju Dayak funeral ceremony is classified into two; they are, activities and equipment. The lexicon has several functions, namely, as a reflection of the culture of Dayak Ngaju people of Central Kalimantan, religious identity, and Kaharingan Hindu spirituality, and as a picture of a sense of togetherness and cooperation of Ngaju Dayak community

Abstract

The Japanese language have four levels of language formality. The languages classified as Kenjogo (humility language), Sonkeigo (honorific language), Teineigo (usual formal language), and the last is Futsugo (daily language). The formalities in the Japanese language also shown in Japanese animation, anime. This study researched the utterance by Hana Miyakoshi in Aniplex anime titled www.working!! episode I. This research focuses on discovering what type of and how Hana Miyakoshi utters the Japanese language used in the anime. This study is a descriptive qualitative study. The result of this study is there are 11 data of Hana Miyakoshi utterances. Those 11 is consisting of 3 formal variants and 8 informal variants. Hana Miyakoshi uses a Japanese formal variant when attending the costumer of Wagnaria, and she uses the informal variant of Japanese language when she is communicating with her coworker.

Abstract

The aims of this research is to find out the teaching techniques and media used by the English teacher in teaching speaking to the seventh-grade students at SMP Brawijaya Smart School Malang. This is a case study research design. Instruments of this research are observation sheets, interview guides and documentation. The researcher observes all of the English teaching processes at the seventh-grade class. The researcher also interviews teachers and five students to get additional information. The documentation is used to confirm the data from observation. The result of the research shows that the English teachers use various teaching techniques namely question-answer display, translation, drilling, and discussion. The English teachers also use various teaching media namely human, printed, visual media and multimedia. However, the English teachers mostly use the question-answer display as teaching technique and printed media as the teaching media. Most students are interested in teaching techniques and the teaching media used by the teacher in teaching speaking. Based on the finding, the researcher has several suggestions for the English teacher and also for a further researcher. For the English teacher at SMP Brawijaya Smart School, the researcher suggests the teachers keep good things of teaching techniques and teaching media because the techniques are interesting. However, it will be better if the English teacher can give other teaching techniques and teaching media. Besides, it can also give the other views of the English teacher on teaching technique and teaching media. For further researchers, the study with a similar topic, the researcher suggests further researchers explore on more specific focus dealing with teaching technique or teaching media by conducting a research on more specific focus, it can be analyzed more deeply.
