Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to analyze the strategy of rice milling waste management in order to realize a circular economy based on the green economy in Petiyin Tunggal Village. Rice milling waste such as husks, bran, and straw that have not been optimally utilized have great potential to be processed into value-added products. The circular economy and green economy approaches are the basis for creating a waste management system that is not only environmentally friendly, but also has a positive economic and social impact. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, through field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that there is a great opportunity for the development of community-based waste management innovations, such as the use of husks as alternative fuels and the processing of bran into animal feed. The recommended strategies include strengthening local institutions, waste management training, and collaboration with the private sector and government. Thus, rice milling waste management can not only reduce environmental impacts but also encourage green economic growth at the village level.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) play a strategic role not only as centers for education and da'wah but also as key drivers of community economic development. However, many pesantren still rely heavily on donations and external subsidies, which hinders the achievement of true financial independence. This study aims to analyze the transformation of pesantren economic management toward self-reliance based on local wisdom, with a case study on the Badan Usaha Milik Pesantren (BUMPES) Nurul Jadid. This research employs a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that BUMPES Nurul Jadid implements a strategy of business diversification based on local potential, strengthening sharia-based governance, and utilizing technology in production and marketing. These measures enable the pesantren to generate stable and sustainable income sources.Local wisdom plays a crucial role in ensuring the sustainability of the pesantren economy by upholding the values of honesty, mutual cooperation (gotong royong), and prudent use of local resources. This transformation not only fosters the economic independence of the pesantren but also contributes to the welfare of the surrounding community. Therefore, an economic model based on local wisdom offers an effective solution for building independent and competitive pesantren without compromising Islamic values.

Abstract

Environmental problems such as climate change and natural disasters are now increasingly frequent. Banking operations that pay less attention to environmental aspects contribute to worsening this situation, because the drive for profit often makes the negative impact of business on the environment ignored. This study aims to analyze the application of green coin rating (GCR) and Operational Cost Efficiency (BOPO) to return on equity (ROE) as an indicator of financial performance at Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia for the 2019-2023 Period. The population in this study are all financial reports from 13 BUSs that have been published until 2023. The sample of this study used purposive sampling with a sample of 6 BUS, namely BCA Syariah, Bank Aceh Syariah, Bukopin Syariah, NTB Syariah, Bank Panin Dubai Syariah, and Bank Muamalat, using annual report data and sustainability reports for the 2019-2023 period. The data analysis technique uses panel data regression analysis through the E-Views10 program. The results showed that partially, the application of GCR has a negative and insignificant effect on ROE with a sig value. 0.5845>0.05, while BOPO shows a positive significant effect on ROE with a sig value. 0,0000<0,05. Simultaneously GCR and BOPO have a significant effect with a sig value. 0.000001 <0.05 on ROE at Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia for the 2019-2023 Period Keywords: Green Banking, Operating Cost Efficiency, Financial Performance, Islamic Commercial Bank

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have a strategic role in supporting economic growth, creating jobs, and improving community welfare. In Bima City, the MSME sector has experienced rapid growth, with the number of business units increasing significantly in recent years. However, despite having great potential, MSMEs in Bima City still face various challenges, such as limited access to capital, lack of use of digital technology, and low competitiveness against products from outside the region. This study aims to analyze the role of the Cooperatives, Industry, and Trade Service (Diskoperindag) of Bima City in empowering MSMEs to improve the sustainability and competitiveness of their businesses. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and literature studies. The results of the study show that Diskoperindag of Bima City has various strategic programs in supporting MSMEs, including business management training, digital marketing, product innovation, and facilitation of access to People's Business Credit (KUR) and business certification. In addition, collaboration with financial institutions and product promotion through exhibition events also contribute to expanding the MSME market. However, there are several obstacles in the implementation of the program, such as budget constraints, lack of ongoing assistance, and low awareness of MSME actors regarding the benefits of the available programs. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the effectiveness of the empowerment program through optimizing coordination between the government, business actors, and related stakeholders. In conclusion, the Bima City Trade and Industry Office plays an important role in improving the sustainability of MSMEs, but further efforts are still needed to overcome the challenges faced so that the MSME sector can develop more optimally and be highly competitive

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) in improving the quality of life of farmers in Tolowata Village, Ambalawi District, Bima Regency. The background of this study is based on the fact that the majority of the village community depends on the agricultural sector, but faces various obstacles such as limited access to capital, technology, and financial literacy. The presence of BSI as a sharia-based financial institution is a potential solution in empowering the economy of farmers through interest-free financing schemes, such as mudharabah, musyarakah, and qardhul hasan. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through in-depth interviews, non-participatory observation, and documentation studies, with data validation through source and method triangulation techniques. The main informants consist of farmers receiving financing, BSI employees, and local community leaders. Data are analyzed through the stages of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results of the study show that BSI not only provides fair and sharia-compliant financing access, but also provides financial training, technical assistance, and encourages the formation of community-based farmer institutions. This contribution has a significant impact on increasing farmers' income, productivity, and spiritual awareness. However, there are a number of obstacles faced by BSI in implementing the program, such as low Islamic financial literacy, limited infrastructure, weak farmer institutions, and lack of synergy with related parties at the local level. Thus, optimizing BSI's role in improving the quality of life of farmers requires a collaborative approach, strengthening local institutional capacity, and a sustainable strategy in Islamic financial education.

Abstract

The financial system in Indonesia continues to progress, especially in financial institutions based on Sharia. Sharia Microfinance Institutions actors develop along with an increase in turnover which is influenced by member perceptions of a product. The product that is often used by MSME players is a business capital financing product that can assist in capital. However, some people still cooperate with conventional financial institutions that have elements of ribawi which are prohibited by Islam in the Al-Qur'an and As-Sunnah because they are considered detrimental to one party. Therefore, the presence of BMT is needed because it can be an alternative solution for business people who need additional capital without worrying about usury. This study aims to describe the perception of members on business capital financing products in empowering MSMEs at BMT Ummat Sejahtera Abadi Nalumsari Branch. This study applies a type of field research with a qualitative approach and descriptive method. The data obtained in this study is in accordance with the facts that occurred at BMT Ummat Sejahtera Abadi Nalumsari Branch obtained through observation, interviews with branch heads, marketing employees and 5 members on business capital financing products and documentation. Data analysis is done by reducing data, presenting data and verification and conclusions. Member perceptions related to business capital financing products available at BMT Ummat Sejahtera Abadi Nalumsari Branch obtained good results, evidenced by an increase in the number of members by 1,34% and progress on the business being carried out. This perception is influenced by the quality of service and the price of a product that can be calculated because the margin or service provided tends to be low.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of liquidity ratios on the profitability of Islamic banks in Indonesia, with inflation introduced as a moderating variable. Using a quantitative explanatory research design, the study analyzes secondary data from 11 Islamic banks over the 2021 to 2023 period. The liquidity indicators include the Cash Ratio, Quick Ratio, and Current Ratio, while Return on Assets (ROA) is used as a proxy for profitability. Inflation data is obtained from the national consumer price index. Multiple linear regression with interaction terms is employed to assess both direct and moderating effects. The classical assumption tests confirm that the model is free from normality violations, multicollinearity, autocorrelation, and heteroskedasticity. The regression results reveal that the Quick Ratio has a significant positive effect on profitability, while the Current Ratio has a significant negative impact. The Cash Ratio shows no significant influence on ROA. Inflation does not affect ROA directly but moderates the relationship between liquidity and profitability in two out of three indicators. The interaction between Quick Ratio and inflation is negative, while the interaction between Current Ratio and inflation is positive. These findings highlight the importance of adaptive liquidity strategies under varying macroeconomic conditions.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the influence of tax planning and profitability on firm value, with company size serving as a moderating variable for that influence. The research data comes from 30 manufacturing companies in the consumer goods sub-sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, with a total of 150 samples taken from the years 2018 to 2022. It can be concluded from the discussion that tax planning and profitability simultaneously influence the value of the company. Unlike profitability, which affects the company's value, tax planning does not have an impact on the company's value. As a moderating element, company size can strengthen the relationship between tax planning and the company's value, as well as enhance the effect of profitability on the company's value

Abstract

The development of digital technology has transformed the landscape of higher education institutions, demanding adaptation in the provision of services to students. UINSU, the State Islamic University of North Sumatra, has strived to improve the quality of campus services through digitalization, improved service quality, and operational efficiency. This study analyzes the influence of service digitalization, service quality, and operational efficiency on student satisfaction in using campus facilities at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU). Using an associative quantitative method with 100 active UINSU student respondents, this study found that service digitalization and student happiness were positively and significantly influenced by service quality. Improved ease of access to information, speed of administrative processes, and the quality of interactions and physical facilities contributed to positive student experiences. However, operational efficiency showed a negative and significant influence on student satisfaction, indicating a dissonance between campus efficiency efforts and student perceptions and comfort. These findings emphasize the importance of UINSU balancing efficiency with student needs and expectations to ensure an optimal learning experience.
