Abstract

This paper tries to study and criticize an interesting topic of Islamic education center in Java in the context of history up to the Java War period. There are two important things that will be studied related to the topic, first, the chronology of growth and development of Islam in Java, and second, a center of Islamic education in sociocultural perspective by placing the Java community institutions such as the center of education activity. The dynamics of growth and development of Islamic educational institutions are influenced by not only internal factors of the founders, but also the external factors that are global. Accumulatively - integratively, both effects fuse and produce a format and style of Islamic educational institutions as will be described through this study.

Abstract

The development of moral learning through cooperative learning aims to produce students who are good, having moral, who understand, and able to exercise the rights and obligations both as a human being living in society as well as citizens of Indonesia. Assessment of moral learning through cooperative learning is relevant and necessary in the era of globalization which demands competition and impacts on the emerging attitude of exclusivism, permisivisme, and secularism. Cooperative learning has some advantages not only in boosting student academic achievement, but can also encourage the social aspects of treatment such as respecting others, empathy with others, cooperate with others and reduce the various negative aspects of competition, as well as able to give impressions on some other positive behaviors. However, to implement cooperative learning takes good preparation and planning therefore teaching and learning process can be carried out effectively and efficiently.

Abstract

As the development of age into the era of globalization, allthe problems on this planet turns increasingly complex, innovativeand transparent. People who are not creative, and innovative absolutelywill be left behind by the rapid flow of these developments. Thesame case takes place in education, particularly in the learning process,in which there are many learning models emerging for the purpose ofprogress and success in learning. One such model is the ProblemBased Learning or often referred to as PBL (Problem BasedLearning) with an which is innovatively pictured by effective conceptin improving learners’ learning achievement and increasingachievemnt motivation of learners as well.

Abstract

Ibn Sahnun was the first Islamic leaders in which his thoughts was concentrated in the areas of education, especially teaching the Qur’an to early childhood. The highlighting of Sahnun’s was based on the notion that the Qur’an is the source of knowledge, and learning at an early age would be so attached and rooted in the child. Through Adab al-Mu’allimin, it is known that the thought of Ibn Sahnun seemed complete and programmed well, especially for the classical era in which only a few leaders who pursued the field of education. And of those concepts can be found some things that are still relevant for today, especially about the emphasis on methods of reading, memorizing and understanding in studying the Qur’an, as apparent in the method of iqra ¸ qira’ati, and amtsilati, and the permissibility of a Qur’an teacher to receive, take or set wages from his students

Abstract

The competitiveness of the global community of education deals with the problems of humanity. For that reason the development of curriculum should consider the major issues that developed in the global world. The curriculum that may be developed is an “eclectic” between humanistic approach, reconstruction of social and academic. Meanwhile, the learning approach can be implemented with “experiental learning”. From the government side should be put through categorization of the school on formal education, therefore the competitiveness of national education will experience acceleration.

Abstract

The presence of Ismail Raji al-Faruqi’s ideas who had dared to offer a rationale for Islamizing science is a startling breakthrough at that time. However, what was imagined by Muslim intellectuals at that time was that the idea was very heavy to be resolved immediately. Ismail Raji al-Faruqi noted that Muslims were subjugated by the West, all life aspects, such as military, political, economic, legal, and educational system had been exploited. Therefore, Ismail Raji al-Faruqi wanted to restore all those channels with the religious spirit of Islam. In the building of modern civilization Ismail Raji al-Faruqi did not depart from zero, in spite of that he departed from the existing civilization by organizing infilteration values derived from monotheism.

Abstract

Education by parents to their children in the family has a very important position, especially in modern times as present, where external influence is very heavy and diverse. Our children are much influenced by both positive and negative influences. Lastly, the worrying effect at this goge era, the influence of electronic, printed and communication media is very influential on the development of children, moreover those means are more sophisticated, faster and easier. Our children can learn, access and search for any information easily. Meanwhile parents do not have a free opportunity to educate, guide and direct them, then it is the time for parents to realize it, turn to the belief that education in the family is important, should be prioritized for our children’s optimal development purposes in terms of the formation of perfect beings.
