Abstract

Cyber Crime in Indonesia in 2022 had a significant increase. One of the cybercrimes was the Bjorka Hacker case. The background of this research is a cybercrime incident committed by Hacker Bjorka against the information security system of the Indonesian government. Hacker Bjorka claimed to have personal data and information of individuals as well as several national organizations. It creates a panic situation among the public. The alleged leak of information makes the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology in the spotlight to be responsible for responding to that crisis situation. Finally, the response of Kominfo becomes very important in this controversy. In order to describe the Kominfo strategy, this research uses quantitative descriptive methods. The population is the statements from Kominfo in response to the Bjorka controversy, that are published in the online media kompas.com in September 2022. The sample is taken by using a purposive sampling method. The results showed that the statements made by Kominfo published by kompas.com were proven to use several strategies for image improvement. The strategies used by Kominfo are denial, corrective action, defeasibility, and minimization. The strategy that is not used is mortification or apologizing.

Abstract

Elections are an important moment in the democratic life of a country, where the people have the opportunity to elect its leader and deputy. In an increasingly advanced digital age, social media has become a significant platform in influencing public opinion and shaping political narratives. The rapid development of technology must also be accompanied by the character of social media users, so that the progress of the times will be in harmony. In order to receive and disseminate information through technology based on real facts. This study aims to provide a description of the phenomenon of spreading hoax news, namely buzzers ahead of the 2024 election from social media, as well as how to respond to the hoax news. This research method uses qualitative descriptive, where this method uses qualitative approach research methods in order to describe and see data and facts about hoaxes and how to overcome them. The result is if this cheap and easy technological advancement becomes a determining factor when accessing information and social media connoisseurs become smarter when using information, namely in understanding media literacy which is often considered as real truth news. The role of the government in controlling its dissemination is the existence of the right legal policy that has been regulated and listed in the ITE Law. The promotion procedure also reflects the homogenization (similarity) of characteristics between account holders and followers. Social unrest is caused by the rise of fake news in Indonesia. Social media users can respond to this by becoming social media users who are more wise and shrewd, and careful in disseminating information.

Abstract

Violence against women is increasing every year. One type of Gender-Based Violence (KBG) against women that will become a concern in 2021 is Online Gender-Based Violence (KBGO). In the current era of digitalization, where everything can be done easily using the internet, violence against women is easy to find. Regulations that have been issued as a legal umbrella, actually make it difficult for women as victims and think that this problem occurs because of women's mistakes. Victims of sexual violence do not report it because in reality, sexuality is still considered a taboo subject. The Instagram account @perempuanberkisah through one of its contents, namely story content, exists as a forum for women victims of violence to share their experiences. The content provides space for women who cannot talk about their experiences in other forums. This study aims to analyze how female victims of KBGO tell about the violence they experienced through story content on the Instagram account @perempuanberkisah. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The data collection technique was carried out using the content analysis method on the research object, namely the story content of the Instagram account @perempuanberkisah. The data analysis method used is content analysis by Philipp Mayring. The results of this study are that the Instagram account @perempuanberkisah provides a safe space for female victims and survivors of KBGO. Through story content, women victims and survivors of KBGO can talk about the violence they experienced without fear of being judged.

Abstract

Polri has experienced a crisis of public trust due to a number of cases. To recover, Polri distributed information to a number of news TVs. Data collection was carried out through observation and documentation from dialogues by the National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo on TvOne, Metro TV and Kompas TV. This research uses William Benoit's image restoration theory which is studied through the media content analysis method and deepened through Jurgen Habermas' critical hermeneutics study. The aim of this research is to find out what steps the Chief of Police takes in restoring the image of the institution. Especially through the construction of messages built through the media. The results of the study show that some of the cases that have surfaced have distanced Polri from its main duties as maintaining public security and order, enforcing the law, and providing protection, protection, and services to the community. The media content revealed in the three televisions shows the commitment of the National Police Chief to resolve the existing cases. The police realised that the Ferdy Sambo case had a big impact on the institution. Therefore, the public needed clarification and the National Police Chief answered the question. From the stages of image restoration, the National Police Chief shows a lot of reducing effectiveness or explanation of the good of the institution, conveys minimal damage and takes a favourable position and corrective action or the organisation takes corrective action to restore status. To ensure that Polri's image is restored, the National Police Chief must endeavour to keep Polri on the right track, enforce the law fairly and indiscriminately, and return to the noble values of the institution.

Abstract

With the development of the human mindset and technology in the current period, in communicating not only with conventional media, but at this time in communicating can use other forms of alternative media. One of the media used in communicating is game media. With the presence of online games that use the internet network to play games, it has changed, not only as a mere entertainment medium but has changed to form a "network society" for the players. The online game media that is often used or played by the general public, especially in Indonesia, is the mobile legends game. Communication patterns that are carried out in game media by using virtual features are called virtual communication. This is related to the phenomenon of virtual communication patterns that are currently happening around us. Seeing this phenomenon, here the researchers found the form of problems that exist related to virtual communication, namely how to communicate patterns through virtual features that exist in online mobile legends games for players, especially the creative box community. Researchers conducted using a virtual ethnographic theory approach. This virtual ethnographic approach refers to objects in cyberspace and objects that are described and analyzed in such a way. Researchers use a constructivist paradigm with a qualitative approach methodology. The results obtained in this study are one of the communication patterns that occur in game media by using virtual features in communicating.

Abstract

Many people consume audio media every day, both intentionally and unintentionally. The development of communication technology, particularly the internet, has triggered the remaking of works of art, media, and the media sector. The same applies to audio media. This study attempts to investigate how concepts such as convergence, remediation, and the cultural industry affect audio media by observing the phenomenon of technological development and its impact on audio media. The three categories of audio media that are most frequently listened to by a large audience—radio, podcasts, and music—are the focus of this study. The literature review method is used in this study to find, gather, and retrieve research data. The literature review method identified 33 references relating to the growth of audio (radio, music, and podcasts), particularly in the context of Remediation, Convergence, and the Cultural Industries. In assessing the development of each sort of audio media, the perspectives of industry and communication technology are also considered. Technical advancements, the advent of the internet, and the strong rivalry among media firms have compelled the audio sector to remediate, converge, and follow the patterns of the cultural industry. The sophistication of electronic devices has also shaped the distribution patterns of the three types of audio that are synced with each other on interactive multiplatform social media. As a result, the expansion of radio, music, and podcasts has become difficult to disentangle.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine and describe the commodification of workers experienced by the producers of Program television channel Y. This study uses a critical paradigm with a qualitative approach through observation and in-depth interviews. This study uses political economy communication, especially the commodification of labor as a theoretical framework. As one of the mass communication media, television has a purpose to make profit, where one of the biggest advantages of television is from advertising. Every program on television has a program leader or producer so the producer has a big responsibility. Television channel Y which has a special program to serve clients as advertising producers. The client as a third party then creates various pressures experienced by the producer. In addition to being responsible for internal management, the producer is also responsible for various kinds to be able to accommodate the client's wishes for the program being carried out. This study shows that producers are not aware of the commodification process they are going through. In addition, there is a transformation process for the commodification of workers which is also found in this study. Existing commodification is indicated by absolute exploitation in the form of relatively long working hours and relatively double exploitation. Producers accept exploitation as something natural because of the process of alienation, mystification, reification, and naturalization. The existing commodification is also due to the lack of human resources and the height of the client.

Abstract

TVRI, a public broadcasting service has the task of providing an information, education and entertainment services, control and streghthen community, and preserving the local wisdom. However, the existence of television in the internet era was disrupted by social media, thus TVRI had to change in presenting quality and educative information. TVRI Yogyakarta Youtube channel one of its flagship programs ‘Angkringan’ that able to reap millions of viewers. This research intends to find the social messages production process with local wisdom comedy of ‘Angkringan'. The television production process is divided into; pre-production consists of finding ideas, planning and preparation, then production and lastly post-production. Using descriptive qualitative research to produce systematic, factual, and accurate records about the facts and characteristic of certain activities. The results showed a pattern using local wisdom comedy namely Dagelan Mataram to produce social messages in ‘Angkringan’ program. The story’s idea is related to actual problems context. The script is made for open improvement with dialogue left entirely to player's improvisation. The players selection is carried out professionally but relationship between players maintained in like-family manner. The performance involves the audience on the stage to make it easier for improvisation as well as to measure the success.

Abstract

ABSTRACTFashion is one of the trends that continues to experience changes and developments influenced by digitalization. The development of technology has a major effect on the fashion world so that its rotation encourages sellers to be more creative in creating content that can attract buyers and create products that can meet the needs of the audience through the use of e-commerce platforms as a promotional medium. The purpose and objective of this study is to find out how the utilization of the e-commerce platform as a medium for promoting the fashion world in the digital market carried out by Summerrush Project through the TikTok application. This research uses a qualitative method. This research wants to capture the reality of the utilization of e-commerce platform as a medium for promoting fashion in the digital market. The approach relevant to this research is a case study approach. This research uses media theory or media ecology theory. The result of this study is that Summerrush Project is one of the brands that utilizes various e-commerce platforms as promotional media in marketing its products in the digital market, but currently the brand is more focused on sales through the TikTok application. In building its marketing communication, this brand uses forms of marketing communication advertising, personal selling, sales promotion, public relations and direct marketing. The presence of this e-commerce platform provides advantages to various brands to open space for business owners with relatively small capital to able to develop their business.Keywords: E-commerce, Marketing, Promotion Media. ABSTRAKFashion merupakan salah satu trend yang terus mengalami perubahan dan perkembangan yang dipegaruhi oleh digitalisasi. Perkembangan teknologi berpengaruh besar terhadap dunia fashion sehingga perputarannya mendorong seller untuk lebih kreatif dalam membuat konten yang dapat menarik minat pembeli maupun menciptakan produk yang bisa memenuhi kebutuhan audiens melalui pemanfaatan platform e-commerce sebagai media promosi. Maksud dan tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui Bagaimana pemanfaatan platform e-commerce sebagai media promosi dunia fashion dalam pasar digital yang dilakukan Summerrush Project melalui aplikasi tiktok. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Penelitian ini ingin menangkap realitas tentang pemanfaatan platform e-commerce sebagai media promosi dunia fashion dalam pasar digital. Pendekatan yang relevan dengan penelitian ini adalah pendekatan studi kasus. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori media (medium theory) atau teori ekologi media (media ecology theory. Hasil penelitian ini bahwa Summerrush Project merupakan salah satu brand yang memanfaatkan berbagai platform e-commerce sebagai media promosi dalam memasarkan produknya di pasar digital, namun saat ini brand tersebut lebih berfokus pada penjualan melalui aplikasi tiktok. Dalam membangun komunikasi pemasarannya brand ini menggunakan bentuk komunikasi pemasaran advertising, personal selling, sales promotion,public relation dan direct marketing. Kehadiran platform e-commerce ini memberikan keuntungan pada berbagai brand untuk membuka ruang bagi pemangku usaha bermodal relatif kecil untuk dapat mengembangkan usahanya.Kata Kunci: E-commerce, Media Promosi, Pemasaran.

Abstract

Prabu Gesaun Ulun Museum is currently an institution that preserves the culture and heritage of the kingdom of Sumedang, West Java. To improve information services to the public through technological developments, in this case the Prabu Gesaun Ulun Museum will improve museum media so that people can easily get complete information. The design stage of social media management focuses on archiving all the relics of the Sumedang Kingdom in the form of objects and other arts and activities. With the concept of Digtal Asset Management or DAM, it can provide solutions that can follow the needs of the digital era. Currently available is the website museumprabugeusanulun.org, with content that is still very simple and only some archiving of objects in the museum. Further development is needed in terms of information media and digital archives about all kinds of collections in the museum, both in the form of objects and stories from trusted sources. In terms of information media, it is also very necessary to develop through social media to provide information on all kinds of activities, and other information related to the development of the Prabu Gesaun Ulun Museum as part of the history of civilization in West Java, especially Sunda. Furthermore, it is hoped that Prabu Gesaun Ulun Museum can become part of a new destination both directly and virtually through the media. This is expected to provide support for the sustainability of the Museum and the continuity of the history of Sundanese civilization.
