The instrument used to collect data was questionnaire. The results indicated that there was a significant effect of parents’ interpersonal communication on the prosocial behaviors of Buddhist students with significance level 0.046 and t-value 2.124. Good parents’ interpersonal communication improved prosocial behaviors of Buddhist students. Moreover, students’ empathy had a significant effect on students’ prosocial behavior with significance level 0.000 and t-value 15.021, which means that higher empathy will result in better prosocial behaviors. Based on the regression analysis, parents’ interpersonal communication and students’ empathy affected the prosocial behavior of Buddhist students at junior high schools in Wonogiri as much as 92.9%. The implication of this study is parents should build a good interpersonal communication with their children and develop their empathy so that children can positively respond to parents’ guidance which will lead to better prosocial behavior.

Abstract

The policy of temporarily closing educational institutions to hold the spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia impacts the learning process being replaced by a learning system using online media application features. Implementation of the distance learning system (PJJ) has various obstacles, including infrastructure, human resources, and the learning process. This study examines communication patterns in the PJJ process. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative with a population of 13,539 students of the Bandung Islamic University in 2021; 389 people are sampled using the Slovin formula. The study results show that 1) The obstacles of PJJ include infrastructure, system, and lecture climate problems. 2) The solution that must be done in terms of infrastructure is that the students need to prepare backup providers, while in terms of materials, students need to look for additional references from other sources. 3) dependence on internet access can affect financially, which can be burdensome for educators and students. 4) The combination of offline and online learning is considered efficient. However, face-to-face learning is more desirable 5) From a media perspective, Zoom Meeting is a media that is often used. The Moodle e-learning lecture system is widely used, including Google Meet, Google Classroom, and Google Drive. 6) The material in the PJJ process is considered adequate. 7) Online multiple-choice questions in quiz systems dominate the exam system, google forms, and even essay types or a take-home exam. However, there are still a few offline projects and exams.

Abstract

Online Learning Innovation Based on Zoom Meeting Application is the policy selection taken at the Amaliah Elementary School of Bogor Regency. The Zoom Meeting application policy is used to support the implementation of effective learning in the pandemic period. The purpose of this study was to describe online learning based on Zoom Meeting at the Amaliah Elementary School as a school policy that chose the zoom meeting application as a learning media during a pandemic. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study design—the respondents used by teachers in the Elementary School of Amaliah. Data collection procedures use interviews, observation, and documentation for data analysis using triangulation. The study results imposed that teachers, students, and parents' support very quickly received the selection of zoom meeting applications. Zoom meeting-based online learning implementation can be used on online learning planning aspects, methods and strategies, and online learning assessment. Although the school provides supporting facilities, there are still obstacles to online learning-based zoom meetings. Furthermore, both teachers need to develop technological capabilities in presenting the learning in the pandemic and the science of their knowledge about various models of appropriate learning used in online learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' learning difficulties in chemistry by using zoom in achieving cognitive, sociological and psychological aspects and to further examine the difficulties faced by students. Data collection using questionnaires and tests, then using the K-Means Cluster data analysis technique, with three clusters (groups) followed by crosstab and graph analysis, using SPSS IBM 22 and followed by the RASH model. the results obtained are that (a) cognitive aspects in the form of student thinking, followed by sociological aspects and psychological aspects related to students' internal factors (b) cognitive results are tested more deeply with the Expended Score Graph. The ICC is in accordance with the RASH Model, the difficult questions to work on are questions 10 and 13 are in the analysis (C4), the Outfit MNSQ value is between 0.5-0.15 and then from the Probability graph of Student Cognitive Ability is well distributed, thus the difficulty in the cognitive aspect lies in the questions presented. These results are very useful for identifying students' cognitive limitations in chemistry learning. Thus, from the results, it is explained that cognitive is the main difficulty, with the RASCH test it is known that the level of difficulty is at the analysis.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the research subjects have practiced metacognitive strategies. The method used is qualitative. Eighteen (18) questions are provided, answers to individual questions are written on the guided question sheet in 2 hours - thirty minutes to get the required response. The data proves that planning, monitoring and evaluation is practiced i.e. totaling 100% checks the next day's schedule; (95%) checking what courses to attend; hence they review the previous and upcoming meeting materials. For the next meeting they write notes for questions or to confirm what they don't really understand to the teacher. Likewise, they used process and productive monitoring for 92.5% of what they did before class. Also, the data shows that they evaluate; 95% evaluated after class.

Abstract

This study was conducted to prove the practicality of the conceptual foundation of language anxiety observed in an English classroom. It aimed to explore the types of anxiety students experience when doing their speaking activities. Besides, it sought to explore which things cause students to feel the most anxious about speaking English. It was conducted using a qualitative phenomenological approach to describe the lived experiences of the students. The subject of research was students at a private vocational senior high school in North Minahasa, North Sulawesi. The samples consisting of five respondents were taken using a purposeful snowball sampling technique and some private interviews were conducted to take the data. The data were analyzed using three steps: data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the students experienced the fear of being laughed at by their peers when making mistakes, the fear of not making enough preparation to speak, the fear of not knowing words to use, the fear of lacking understanding of lessons explained in English, and the fear of being scolded by an English teacher due to mispronunciation. Finally, most of what causes them to experience language anxiety have to do with the fear of negative evaluation from other people.

Abstract

Effective communication is an important requirement for all individuals, and everyone wants smooth and seamless interactions. However, persistent communication barriers are a common problem, even in communication contexts involving deaf students. The main objective of this research is to determine the inhibiting and supporting elements in the communication process between teachers and deaf students in the SLBN Sungai Banyak City. Using qualitative descriptive methods and a phenomenological approach, the findings of this research identify physical and semantic barriers as inhibiting factors, while clarity, accuracy, context awareness, and cultural considerations are supporting elements. This research is important because it can provide valuable guidance and recommendations for educators who want to understand communication challenges and improvements when interacting with their students.

The background of the study highlights the critical role of these factors in enhancing student engagement and academic performance. The aim is to analyze the specific effects of teacher motivation and communication style on the learning interests of students. Utilizing a quantitative research method, data were gathered from 91 students through a questionnaire based on a 5-point Likert scale. The analysis employed multiple linear regression tests to assess the relationships. The results indicated that both teacher motivation and communication style significantly influence students' interest in Mathematics, both individually and collectively. The conclusion drawn from the study suggests that teachers should consistently provide motivation and maintain an effective communication style in the classroom to foster higher student interest in learning. Specifically, demonstrating openness in communication can create a comfortable learning environment, thereby enhancing students' engagement and interest in Mathematics. This research contributes to the education field by providing empirical evidence on the importance of teacher-student interactions in promoting academic interest and performance.
