Abstract

Abstract

Changes in family structure due to divorce and conflict have increased the number of adolescents living in broken homes. This condition not only has an impact on the social aspect, but also on the emotional development of adolescents. This study aims to examine the relationship between family functioning and emotional regulation of broken home adolescents. The study used a correlational quantitative approach involving 135 broken home adolescents  as research subjects. Data collection was carried out using the family functioning scale and the emotion regulation scale. The results of data analysis with the Pearson product moment correlation technique show that there is a significant positive relationship between family functioning and emotion regulation ability, where the better the functioning of the family, the better the ability of adolescents to manage emotions. In contrast, families that do not function optimally tend to be associated with a teen's low ability to manage emotions. These findings confirm the importance of the role of the family in supporting adolescent emotional development and can be the basis for the development of psychological interventions and educational programs that focus on strengthening family function and emotion regulation skills.

Abstract

The university students were in the career exploration stage. Additionally, career adaptability is an important factor that helps students cope with transitions and uncertainties in the workplace. Interestingly, one factor that may enhance students’ career adaptability is grit. This study examined the effect of grit on career adaptability among students participating in a Kampus Mengajar Program. The study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design, analyzed using simple regression analysis. The research sample consisted of students participating in the Kampus Mengajar Program who were selected using a convenience sampling technique. The findings showed that grit had a positive and significant effect on career adaptability. Students with higher grit levels tended to demonstrate better career adaptability. Descriptively, consistency of interest emerged as the most prominent aspect of grit, whereas curiosity was the strongest aspect of career adaptability. These findings indicate that grit, as a personal resource, can support the development of career adaptability, particularly among students involved in experiential learning programs such as internships.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of work passion as a psychological mechanism linking psychological empowerment and voice behavior among Gen Z employees. A cross-sectional survey was conducted involving 360 respondents using validated measures of psychological empowerment, work passion, and voice behavior. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed to examine both the direct and indirect relationships among the variables. The findings indicate that psychological empowerment positively predicts voice behavior. In addition, work passion partially mediates the relationship between psychological empowerment and voice behavior, suggesting that empowerment may foster voice behavior not only directly but also through the development of stronger motivational attachment to work. These findings highlight the importance of fostering internal motivation to support empowerment-driven voice behavior among young professionals. This study contributes to the literature on motivation and voice behavior while also offering practical implications for organizations seeking to create supportive work environments for Gen Z employees.

Abstract

High academic demands in higher education often constitute a primary source of stress that negatively affects students’ psychological well-being. Despite the increasing prevalence of academic stress, many students lack effective cognitive strategies to independently manage such pressure. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of self-talk techniques in reducing academic stress among university students. This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The participants were students experiencing moderate to high levels of academic stress who underwent a self-talk intervention across several sessions. Academic stress levels were measured using the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS) and analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results indicated that the self-talk technique significantly reduced students’ academic stress. This reduction was reflected in a shift toward milder stress categories after the intervention. These findings support the hypothesis that self-talk is an effective mechanism for reducing psychological pressure. Consequently, this technique may serve as a viable strategy for improving students’ mental health issues. The findings further suggest that higher education institutions should integrate cognitive-based interventions into student counseling programs to foster mental resilience in the face of increasing academic pressures.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze netizens’ responses to a case involving an indecent video featuring a teacher from a cyberpsychology perspective and to examine the associated criminal law implications. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as digital observation, unstructured interviews, and documentation. The study’s informants consisted of ten individuals selected through purposive sampling based on their involvement in accessing, following, or responding to information related to the case under investigation. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that netizens’ responses are not homogeneous but encompass empathetic responses, victim-blaming, passive consumption, and content-saving practices. Although most informants understood the importance of digital privacy, this understanding is not always accompanied by behavior that supports privacy protection. This study also found a gap between normative legal awareness and understanding of the legal protection mechanisms available to victims. Furthermore, netizens’ involvement occurs not only through the act of sharing information but also through activities such as accessing, saving, and following case developments, which contribute to the continued exposure of victims in the digital space.

Abstract

Student mental health has become an increasingly important issue in higher education due to the rising prevalence of stress and psychological distress among university students. Limited accessibility to mental health services and the lack of integration between early detection and intervention systems often hinder timely psychological support. This study aimed to develop and evaluate an integrated web-based stress screening and counseling referral system as an early mental health intervention model for university students. The study employed a research and development approach involving needs analysis, system development, instrument validation, pilot testing, implementation, and evaluation. A total of 180 university students participated in the study. Data were collected using a web-based stress screening instrument integrated with an automated scoring and adaptive referral mechanism. The findings revealed that most participants were categorized within moderate to high stress levels, indicating the urgent need for preventive mental health services in higher education settings. The developed system demonstrated effective identification of stress levels and facilitated students’ engagement with recommended counseling services. These results suggest that the integrated system provides a scalable and technology-driven framework for improving early mental health intervention and promoting help-seeking behavior among university students.
