Abstract

Although it is in our nature to worship Allah, most people either forget to do so or choose not to for a variety of reasons, including being preoccupied with other priorities. Karangduren Village residents read Surah al-Ikhlas, the Attaqoh dhikr, 100,000 times in an effort to preserve their belief in Allah. In addition to examining the history of reading and application, this article aims to understand the impact of Attaqoh dhikr on the spiritual well-being of the residents of Karangduren village. This research takes a qualitative approach, including methods such as observation, interviews, and documentation. For data processing, data reduction methods, data presentation, and conclusion phases have been employed. This study discovered two forms of Attaqoh Dhikr in Krangduren village: independent dhikr and congregational dhikr. Independent dhikr is more flexible, whereas congregational dhikr takes place every two weeks on Tuesday evenings at the al-Huda mosque. Second, the personal and societal impact of reciting Attaqoh dhikr is increased peace of mind, the emergence of a sense of trust, satisfaction, and sincerity, and the spirituality of individuals. Dhikr Attaqoh in Karangduren village has succeeded in strengthening the spiritual condition of the community.

Abstract

Maqashid Sharia explicitly did not appear since the prophetic period but the embryo of maqashid sharia was found during the Prophet Muhammad SAW both from the interpretation of revelation or in the context of the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. maqashid sharia discourse until now always appears in some circles of ushuliyin scholars who aim to examine more deeply whether maqashid sharia is part of ushul fiqh or as an independent discipline as a methodology of Islamic law. This research intends to describe the history of the emergence of maqashid sharia theory, its position in Islamic studies and its urgency as a methodology of Islamic Law. The result of this research is that Imam Shafi'i who became the pioneer of the early emergence of the method of determining the law with Al-Risalah which was then squeezed again by Imam Al-Haromain, Izzuddin bin Abd Salam and Imam Ghazali so that maqashid sharia appeared as a development of the term maslahah. Then Imam al-Syatibi who emphasized this theory with a special discussion in his work al-muwafaqot. Furthermore, the position of maqashid sharia in Islamic studies becomes very urgent for the perfection of the purpose of sharia, namely maslahat for humans. In maqashid aims to get legal protection, it is a human obligation to know it in order to achieve protection called al-dharuriyat al-khams. In conclusion, maqashid sharia does not break away from ushul fiqh, but it is the development that then becomes the basis of the maqashid sharia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of a social entrepreneur in community empowerment from the perspective of maqasid al-shari’ah, using a case study of Haji Her (H. Hoirul Umam), CEO of Bawang Mas Group in Pamekasan Regency. Haji Her is recognized as a social change agent who consistently advocates for the welfare of tobacco farmers in Madura through a social entrepreneurship model. This research employs a qualitative approach using data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, documentation, literature review, and online sources. The findings reveal that Haji Her’s social entrepreneurship is reflected in various aspects of the Business Model Canvas, including a social value proposition through purchasing farmers’ tobacco at high prices, providing education and training to farmers, and establishing the Paguyuban Pelopor Petani dan Pedagang Tembakau Se-Madura (P4TM). His business activities are not solely profit-oriented but are also focused on social sustainability and empowerment grounded in Islamic values. From the perspective of maqasid al-shari’ah, Haji Her’s contributions align with the five core objectives: preservation of religion, life, intellect, wealth, and progeny. These contributions are manifested through CSR programs, the development of social infrastructure, involvement of religious scholars in decision-making, and character education rooted in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). This study concludes that Haji Her’s maqasid al-shari’ah based social entrepreneurship model can serve as a strategic inspiration for the development of holistic and sustainable community empowerment practices. Keywords: social entrepreneurship, community empowerment, maqasid al-shari’ah, Haji Her, Madura tobacco, Business Model Canvas.

Abstract

Epistemology is a branch of philosophy that discusses a theory of knowledge (the body of knowledge). However, we cannot be sure that this knowledge is correct even though it is compiled and selected based on epistemological considerations. This is because there is no guarantee for knowledge which is only considered as an analysis of the possibilities that become the basis for carrying out an action through the rational aspect. In economic activities, the problem faced by Islamic economics is the gap between ideal behavior or what should be done and real behavior that occurs because it is not in accordance with what should be done. Moreover, with the development of an increasingly modern era, there is a need for the thinking of contemporary Muslim economists, one of whom is Monzer Kahf, whom we can relate to the epistemology of Islamic economics and its rationality. The purpose of this research is to find out from existing Islamic economics whether it is in accordance with the events or activities in the field accompanied by their respective rationalities. So, with monzer kahf's thoughts on Islamic Economics can be analyzed in theoretical and practical terms. Based on the results of this study, it shows that there are several thoughts from figures from Monzer Kahf that we analyze so that we can find out about theories that are epistemologically examined with the rationality aspects of existing Islamic Economics. Abstract

Madura Island remains one of the regions with the highest poverty rates in East Java Province. In this context, Islamic microfinance institutions (IMFIs) play a strategic role in empowering low-income communities. This study aims to explore the social movement strategies employed by three IMFIs affiliated with Nahdlatul Ulama—namely Koperasi An-Nisa’ IX Muslimat NU, BMT NU, and BMT Sidogiri—in promoting economic empowerment among rural communities in Madura. Adopting a qualitative approach through field research, the study collected data via in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that these institutions integrate Islamic values and Nahdliyyin cultural identity in four key strategies: religious organizational militancy, the pivotal role of pesantren, continuous mentoring models, and innovative service products. These empowerment movements have not only enhanced local economic participation but also reinforced culturally rooted social networks as a foundation for sustainable people-based economic development.
