Abstract

The intensity of hate speech behavior is the level of one’s activities in showing negative evaluations as well as justifying and spreading hatred upon others. The rising number of cases of hate speech, bullying, racism, and so on in social media, made researchers interested in conducting research on how students’ strategies in processing information obtained on social media. This study aims to  determine the intensity of hate speech behavior  by social media users on the selection of information processing strategies or messages on social media. This research incorporates a descriptive quantitative research model. The subjects of this study amounted to 158 people age 19-25 years who were selected using the accidental sampling technique. The research instruments in the present study are the information processing scale and hate speech behavior scale. The results showed that social media users in this study tended to use heuristic processing types (61%), systematic (35%), and systematic-heuristic (3%) which demonstrate that most social media users tended to think simply about the content of any information in social media.

Abstract

Marital satisfaction will be realized if there is good interpersonal communication between husband and wife. To realize good interpersonal communication, effective interpersonal communication skills are needed so that they can distance themselves from destructive situations that will cause dissatisfaction in marriage. This study aims to determine the relationship between interpersonal communication with the marital satisfaction of husband and wife who have a career with the type of correlational quantitative research. The subject of this study involved 124 people or 62 couples who both worked in Malang district using the snowball sampling technique. Data collection uses the marital satisfaction scale and interpersonal communication scale, then analyzed using Pearson product moment correlation using the SPSS application. Based on the results of the study, the value of the correlation (r) on the husband was 0.791 with a probability of 0.000 (p <0.05) while the correlation value (r) for the wife was 0.700 with a probability of 0.000 (p <0.05). This means that there is a positive and significant relationship between interpersonal communication and marital satisfaction on a career husband and wife.

Abstract

Discipline can be defined as an indication of one’s behavior, that occurs in a regulations of an institute, either written or unwritten. An individual with a self-discipline behavior is likely to obey the rules and regulation and is easier ro be ruled than those who don’t. There are two ways to get self-discipline for students. Punishment or positive reinforcement. However, positive reinforcement is more reliable because it will give stronger effect to change one’s behavior. This research is using a Single Case kind of research with a Quasi Experiment design. This experiment uses guide observations and interviews. The subject in the experiment is a couple of male students who don’t have self-discipline. To determine the subject is to use Purposive Sampling. The result of the research is that there is a behaviour change from not having a self-discipline to having a self-discipline after given a treatment. This shows that Positive reinforcement has better effect towards student’s self-discipline.

Abstract

The emergence of aggressive behavior in teenagers can occur due to various factors,  the family is one important aspect that is allegedly associated with the pattern adolescent aggressive behavior. The role of parents to adolescent aggressive behavior by providing emotional support needed to suppress aggressive behavior in adolescents themselves. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between emotional support of parents and the aggressiveness of adolescents with divorced parents. The sampling technique used purposive technique with a subjects were 113 boys and girls with divorced parents aged 12 to 22 years, and lived with one parent. This research instruments using Agression Questionnair scale and the scale of parental emotional support made by the author based on aspects of emotional support by Thoits 1986 with data analysis using SPSS 21. The results show the value of (r) of -0.327 with p 0.000 < 0, 05. It shows that there is a significant negative correlation between parental emotional support and aggressiveness of adolescents with divorced parents. Parental emotional support’s contribution to adolescents with divorced parents aggressiveness of 10.7% (r2 = 0.107)

Abstract

Aggressive behavior in adolescents can be minimized and reduced by using self-control. Self-control is needed for every individual, especially adolescents. Age and family’s environment are the factors that underlie a person can control himself. The aims of this research are to knowing the relationship between self-control and the level of aggressiveness in adolescents who have TNI or POLRI parents. This research using quantitative correlational approarch with the data collections using quota sampling technique, the subjects of this research were aged 13 until 17 years old who have TNI or POLRI parents. The instrument of this research using self control scale from Tangney, Baumeister, and Boone theory, and also using aggressive scale from Baron. The results of this study showed that there was a significant negative relationship between self-control and the level of aggressiveness in adolescents who have TNI or POLRI parents. It means, the increasing of self-control possessed by adolescents, the level of aggressiveness will be decreases, in another hand the decreasing of self-control that teenager has, the level of aggressiveness will be increases.

Abstract

This research try to investigate the effect of promoting self-efficacy to musical performance in a student, which had been done by explaining the student about the concept of self-efficacy, and a series of Socratic dialogue. This educational intervention was done to a junior high school student (X). Pre and post intervention measuring test were done using Pintrich and Groot’s Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (1990) that had been adapted to suit the context of music education. This study found that improving self-efficacy level in a student using Socratic Dialogue does have positive effect on musical performance and practice

Abstract

Ideally dating is sharing mutual love, attention, gentle treatment, intimacy, and romance. However, it is not uncommon to find abusive treatment from their loved ones. Emotional regulation with a poor ability to regulate emotions is associated with emotional arousal which leads to an increase in aggression behavior. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of emotional regulation with violent dating behavior in students. This study uses a correlational quantitative research method using a purposive sampling technique. The study was conducted on perpetrators of violence in dating with a total of 183 subjects with an age range of 18-24 years. Data collection uses the scale of DERS adaptation and scale of Violence in Dating. Data analysis method uses Pearson product moment analysis. The results showed a significant correlation between emotional regulation of dating violence (r= 0.360; r² = 0.130; p = 0,000; p <0.05).

Abstract

ABSTRACT Turnover Intention is an important phenomenon that affects the development of the company. One of the factors that influence turnover intention is work autonomy. High work autonomy will increase psychological empowerment, ultimately affecting turnover intention. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of work autonomy on turnover intention through mediators of psychological empowerment. This research approach uses a quantitative approach. The method of data collection uses the scale of The Work Design Questionnaire, the Multidimentional questionnaire of Psychological Empowerment and Mobley's Measurement Model. Determination of the sample using purposive sampling technique, the total subject is 72 people from four local television companies in Malang, Data analysis using Bootstrapping analysis. The results obtained are (1) There is no effect of work autonomy on turnover intention, the value of F = 2.748 (p = 0.102); (2) There is an influence of work autonomy on psychological empowerment with a value of F = 47.07 (p = 0,0001); (3) There is no effect of psychological empowerment on turnover intention, F value = 0.654 (p = 0.421); (4) There is no mediating effect of psychological empowerment on work autonomy with turnover intention.KEYWORDS Turnover Intention, Work Autonomy, Psychology EmpowermetCITITATION  Akbar, I., Hasanati, N., & Shohib, M. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe development of technology and information in this era has made information and science inevitably overflow through social media. This situation is supported by the development of technology such as the existence of computers and internet networks in private, thus makes everyone can easily access information in anywhere and anytime. Nonetheless, information is considered a need for those who relies it in daily life, especially college students. Therefore, it is important to develop ability to find and sort information or scientific reference sources and critical thinking disposition ability to see whether the information is what we really want. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between critical thinking disposition and information literacy among students on social media. The sampling technique uses random sampling techniques. The research subjects were 18-24 year old students totaling 269 student. The data was collected using critical thinking disposition scale consisting of 3 aspects which were stated by Ricketts and Rudd namely engagement, cognitive maturity, and innovativeness with 23 items and information literacy scale with 13 items. Test analysis using correlation test and the results show there is a significant relationship of critical thinking disposition and information literacy among students on social media with results (0.00 <0.05).Critical thinking disposition, information literacy.
