Abstract

Background: The status of pregnant women through BMI according to Riskesdas data is abnormal (thin, fat and obese) greater than that of men, this will have an impact on the mother and the process of fetal growth. Therefore, as an effort to detect this problem early, monitoring the weight gain of pregnant women is based on the pre-pregnancy Body Mass Index (BMI). Weight gain during pregnancy indicates the nutritional status of the mother. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of education based on the nutritional status of pre-pregnancy BMI on the suitability of increasing pregnant women's weight. Methods: quasi-experimental research design, non-equivalent group with posttest only with control group design conducted on 156 pregnant women in the working area of the Public Health Center of Perumnas 2 and the UPTD of the South Pontianak Health Center. The sampling technique used is consecutive sampling. Results: Based on statistical tests, it was shown that education was effective on the suitability of weight gain for pregnant women based on the nutritional status of pre-pregnancy BMI with p value = 0.001 (p value <0.05). As a recommendation, specific education based on the nutritional status of pre-pregnancy BMI can be applied in health facilities in an effort to increase the weight of pregnant women.

Purpose. This study aims to find out the influence of purple sweet potato consumption on the hemoglobin levels of Pregnant Women trimester III. Method. This type of research uses quasi experimen with Pretest-Posttest Design with Control Group. Total Sampling technique. The study sample of third trimester pregnant women amounted to 30 respondents, consisting of 2 groups, 15 samples of intervention groups and 15 samples of control groups. Result. The results of the study using the Paired t-test test obtained the average hemoglobin level of the pre-test Intervention group of 9.72 and post-test 12.22 then the pre-test Control group of 9.68 and post-test 10.29. The results of the bivariate analysis using an independent t-test sample showed that there was a significant influence between the consumption of purple sweet potatoes on the increase in hemoglobin levels of pregnant women in the third trimester. One of the activities that support this achievement is midwifery services carried out continuously and perfectly, focusing on the aspect of prevention with other health workers to always be ready to serve anyone in need. The continuity activities in question are in the form of midwifery documentation that records and reports the care given as a reference to demand responsibility and responsibility. Midwifery documentation has been done since college and is one of the requirements for academic graduation but there are still students who do not understand very well about the documentation method. One way that can be used, namely by providing material through playing media in the form of smart wheel games. Purpose: to find out the influence of smart wheel game media in improving the understanding of documentation on midwifery students. Method: The design of this study uses pseudo-experimental methods with pretest-posttest treatment design and one group control. This design is carried out 2 times before and after assessment. Respondents in this study were 30 midwiferies third semester students. Data analysis using Mann Whitney. Results: Based on statistical tests, pretest scores in 2 groups showed the average value of students' understanding of documentation methods was higher in the control group, while the posttest value was higher in the treatment group with a p value of 0.018 with a strong enough relationship strength that was negatively correlated. Thus there is an influence in the application of smart wheel game learning media in understanding pregnancy documentation.

Abstract

Background: Stress is the body's mental and physiological response to a physical. Students in the final semester have a heavier load and task. Students are prone to experiencing stress during the educational process. Handling stress can be solved with relaxation combined between lavender therapy and brain gym. The purpose was to determine the effectiveness of combination between lavender therapy and brain gym on decreasing stress level. Method: Quasi-experimental research with time series design. Sample was 24 people. Technique sampling used purposive sampling with inclusion and exclusion criteria. Lavender aromatherapy and brain gym are independent variables, student stress level is dependent variable. The daily data analysis technique of pretest and posttest stress levels uses Marginal Homogeneity and differences in stress levels using Friedman's test with post-hoc Wilcoxon. Result: Marginal Homogeneity test for stress levels on 1st day to 7th day of pretest and posttest obtained a significance value ρ <0.05 and Friedman's test with Post-hoc Wilcoxon 0,000 (ρ < 0.001). Conclusion: The combination of lavender aromatherapy and brain gym is effectively decreasing stress level on Semester VI of Midwifery Student and there is a difference in stress levels between pretest and posttest on 1st day to 7th day.

Abstract

Background: Endometriosis is a chronic gynecological disease that affects women during their life cycle. Another opinion says that endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory disease associated with the hormone estrogen. It is estimated that more than 80 million women and girls worldwide suffer from endometriosis. Endometriosis occurs because menstrual blood flows back through the tube into the renal cavity and then implants in the cervical cavity where the endometrioma and endometrial invasion contain high levels of aromatase. Endometriosis is an inflammatory disease that depends on estrogen levels, due to P450 aromatase and a deficiency of 17β- hydroxysteroiddehydrogenase type 2. 17β-hydrosisteroid dehydrogenase type 2 converts strong estrogen (estradiol) into a weak estrogen (estron) that is active, which is not found in the luteal phase of endometriosis tissue. Goal: to further study the treatment of endometriosis by utilizing curcumin as a therapy that works to inhibit endometriosis cells by reducing the production of estradiol (strong estrogen). Method: This study is a Literature Review, using research journals related to endometriosis. Result: Endometriosis therapy can be done surgically based on the diagnosis that has been made, but the recurrence rate is higher. A combination of surgery and medical therapy is needed to get better results. The most widely used medical treatment is Gonadotropin-Releasing Harmon (GnRH) agonist and oral contraceptives as well as curcumin which works to inhibit endometriosis cells by reducing estradiol production.

Abstract

Background: Pregnancy is physiological. During first trimester pregnancy, 87.8% of a woman experiences nausea and vomiting, and about 90% of vomiting nausea goes away by 16 weeks of gestation. If nausea and vomiting are severe and persistent, the condition can develop into hyperemesis gravidarum. A study showed that 34% of pregnant women did not use the drug (vitamin B6) and 26% used the drug for less than the prescribed dose and they expressed a lack of confidence in the safety of the drug and preferred Complementary and Alternative Medicines (CAM). Acupressure is a type of stimulation for acupuncture with finger pressure or using the hand. Goal: to see the effect of acupressure on vomiting nausea in pregnancy. Method: This study is a literature review. Results: From a study in several studies showed that acupressure performed at the Neiguan point (Pericardium 6 / P6) by using a bracelet (wristband) continuously for 4 limits or acupressure at kidney point 21 (K1D21) diving 20 minutes per day within 4 limits can reduce vomiting nausea in pregnancy. Acupressure is no better than vitamin B6, ginger capsules are more effective than acupressure, but acupressure is more effective than acupuncture in reducing vomiting nausea in pregnancy.
