Abstract

Background: Preeclampsia is a set of symptoms experienced by pregnant women, laboring women and women in the postpartum period that usually appear at 20 weeks of gestation until the end of the first week of labor. Leg edema is a common problem in pregnant women with preeclampsia. Leg edema makes pregnant women feel cramps at night, feel uncomfortable and heavy in the swelling area. The management of foot massage and warm water soak is effective in reducing leg edema in third trimester pregnant women. Contrast bath is one of the foot soaking techniques that works to reduce edema by lowering intra-venous hydrostatic pressure which has an impact on the seeping of plasma fluid in the interstitium back into the veins. Objective : of this case study is to apply evidenced based nursing action contrast bath with foot massage to reduce leg edema in pregnant women with severe preeclampsia. The writing. Methods : is descriptive qualitative using a case study approach. Samples were selected using purposive sampling technique and obtained a sample of four pregnant women with severe preeclampsia. Results: the four pregnant women experienced a decrease in edema degree of 1 degree each after being given contrast bath and foot massage interventions for three days. Conclusion: the combination of contrast bath and foot massage techniques is effective in reducing leg edema

Abstract

Background: Spontaneous vaginal birth risks the mother receiving perineal stitches due to episiotomy and spontaneous tearing. Each individual's pain response is unique and relatively different. Overcoming pain can be done pharmacologically using analgesics and non-pharmacological methods including skin stimulation strategy methods, sensory stimulation strategies and cognitive strategies. Various types of aromatherapy are jasmine, lemon, ginger, jasmine, rose, cinnamon, lavender. Objective: To achieve the effectiveness of aromatherapy intervention in reducing the pain scale of postpartum perineal wounds. Method: Search for research articles in several databases using certain keywords in the 2016-2022 period. The search results obtained 7 articles using midwifery interventions, 7 articles that met the inclusion criteria. There were 7 articles included in the category so they were good for further analysis. Critical analysis of 7 articles was carried out based on design, population and sample, sampling, treatment, parameters, findings and conclusions. Results : Literature review shows that current aromatherapy interventions in the form of complementary health services vary greatly in terms of methods, components, duration, individuals involved, specificity and effectiveness. Statistical analysis shows that all of these methods have resulted in a significant reduction in the pain scale of postpartum perineal wounds, recommendations for health workers to take special training beforehand and have competence in administering measures to reduce the pain scale of postpartum perineal wounds.

Abstract

Background: Insomnia is a sleep disorder in pregnant women which can cause family welfare to decline if treatment is slow. Insomnia has the potential to increase the risk of preeclampsia, prematurity, childbirth section cesarean, obesity, and hyperglycemia in children. Sleep hygiene is a non-pharmacological therapy used to treat insomnia. Objective: to assess the effectiveness of practical education on sleep hygiene regarding changes in attitudes of pregnant women. Method: In this research, the research team used video media and educational flyers about sleep hygiene to find out the comparison of its influence on the attitudes of pregnant women. The method used is quasi-experimental with an approach-equivalent two-group design namely using different intervention groups, the video group, and the flyer group. Results: This research shows the increase in the attitudes of pregnant women who were given education hygiene for 18 days through animated videos was higher than providing education using flyers where the group of pregnant women who were given the intervention had better changes in attitudes towards the need for rest and sleep compared to the control group. Thus, practical education and sleep hygiene Using animated videos can be used in providing care to pregnant women, especially those experiencing sleep disorders because they can improve sleep quality so they can better deal with negative situations during pregnancy such as anxiety and insomnia.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Keberhasilan program kesehatan ibu sangat ditentukan oleh Angka Kematian Ibu (AKI). Angka Kematian Ibu di Indonesia adalah 305 per 100.000 kelahiran hidup menurut data statistik terbaru dari tahun 2015, yang masih jauh lebih tinggi daripada target MDGs yaitu 102 per 100.000 kelahiran hidup. Ibu hamil dengan resiko tinggi dapat disebabkan oleh kehamilan terlalu banyak dan terlalu dekat. Faktor pendukung terjadinya ibu hamil berisiko tinggi yaitu status ekonomi keluarga. Tujuan Penelitian: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah faktor ekonomi, khususnya di Jawa Tengah, mempengaruhi paritas ibu. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini menggunakan informasi dari SDKI 2017 dan merupakan studi observasional. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan adalah cross sectional. Sebanyak 4.446 data menjadi sampel penelitian, yang diambil dari populasi penelitian dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu total sampling. Hasil Penelitian: hasil analisis univariat menunjukkan usia ibu rata-rata 40 tahun dan pendidikan ibu rata-rata tidak lulus SMP. Temuan analisis bivariat menunjukkan bahwa di Jawa Tengah, status ekonomi secara signifikan mempengaruhi jumlah anak dan jarak kelahiran (p-value = 0,000 dan 0,000). Kesimpulan: status ekonomi memiliki pengaruh pada jarak dan jumlah kelahiran ibu di Jawa Tengah. Hal ini terjadi karena rendahnya pendidikan ibu (tidak lulus SMP), yang menyebabkan ibu mengetahui reproduksi sehat dan terencana.

Abstract

Background: Complete basic immunization coverage for babies is still a national health problem. According to Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) data, it was found that complete basic immunization coverage in Indonesia in 2018 was still below the national target, including in the city of Tomohon, North Sulawesi Province. Objective: to find out the factors related to achieving complete basic immunization for babies in the working area of ​​the Lansot Health Center in Tomohon City.Method: This research uses design cross sectional 42 respondents, mothers of toddlers aged 1-2 years as research samples, were taken using the technique purposive sampling representing 7 sub-districts in the Lansot Health Center Working Area, Tomohon City. Data was collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using testsChi square. Results : p value The relationship between maternal knowledge and the achievement of complete basic immunization for babies is 0.017 (< 0.05). Meanwhile, the mother's employment factor: is 0.008 (<0.05), the family income factor: is 0.067, and the distance factor for immunization services: is 0.059. This means that there is a relationship between maternal knowledge and occupation in achieving complete basic immunization for babies in the Lansot Community Health Center Working Area, Tomohon City, while family income and distance to immunization services are not related. It is recommended that the Lansot Community Health Center increase education about complete basic immunization for babies in families so that mothers' knowledge can increase and they can also take the time to bring their babies even if the mother works.

Abstract

Background: There were 2 postpartum maternal deaths in Mahakam Ulu district caused by bleeding. Bleeding does not occur if uterine involution is going well. One of the factors that influences the uterine involution process is postpartum exercise. Objective: This research determines the effect of postpartum exercise on uterine involution in postpartum mothers at the Gate Sehat Mahulu RSP in 2023. Method: This type of research is Quasi Experimental with a pretest – posttest design with one group design. The research population was postpartum mothers with a sample size of 18 people. The data analysis used was the Wilcoxon test. Results: Based on the Wilcoxon test, the p value is 0.001 < α(0.05), indicating that there is an influence of postpartum exercise on uterine involution in postpartum mothers. Conclusion: There is an influence of postpartum exercise on uterine involution in postpartum mothers at the Gate Sehat Mahulu RSP in 2023

Abstract

Background: Preeclampsia is a pregnancy-specific syndrome characterized by the onset of hypertension that occurs after 20 weeks of gestation, often accompanied by proteinuria and/or various organ failures including thrombocytopenia, hepatocellular necrosis, renal insufficiency, brain disorders, or pulmonary edema. One of the prevention efforts that can be done through health education activities. Health education is a collection of experiences that have a good influence on the habits, attitudes, and knowledge about the health of a person, community, and country. Health education can be done with several media to provide knowledge to pregnant women. Objective: to analyze more deeply the effectiveness of health education through media to increase the knowledge of pregnant women towards preeclampsia prevention efforts that are in accordance with previous studies by reviewing several studies. Methods: This review uses several national and international sources that have been published from databases (PubMed and Google Scholar) taken within the last 10 years from 2019-2023. The articles obtained in the search amounted to 10 journals with 6 national journals and 4 international journals. Results: the literature review shows that the provision of health education through the media is very influential in increasing the knowledge of pregnant women towards preeclampsia prevention efforts. These results are expected to provide interventions in the scope of midwifery and increase knowledge, especially for midwives and pregnant women to be able to make early prevention efforts in dealing with preeclampsia.

Abstract

Background: The prevalence of anemia in teenagers is 32%, meaning that 3-4 out of 10 teenagers suffer from anemia. This is influenced by suboptimal nutritional intake habits, inappropriate food choices and lack of physical activity.. Objective: This research is to identify LILA, HB Levels and Nutritional Status of Level 1 Students of the D3 Midwifery Study Program, Manado Health Polytechnic. Method: This research is quantitative research using a cross sectional design. The research population was Diploma III Midwifery Study Program students with a total research sample of 60 people. Sampling was carried out using a purposive sampling technique with inclusion criteria, namely that young women had menstruated and were willing to become research subjects by signing informed consent. The data was analyzed using the Chi-Square statistical test. Results: there are more respondents with Normal LILA than those with KEK, HB levels are mostly normal. And the nutritional status of students based on BMI measurements is mostly normal, but there are still students with nutritional disorders. Statistical tests show that there is a relationship between KEK and the nutritional status of young women, there is no relationship between HB levels and nutritional status in teenagers. Recommendations for young women to consume food with balanced nutrition to meet nutritional requirements so that they can avoid CED and consume blood supplement tablets to avoid anemia, according to the Government program. Young Women take 1 Fe tablet once a week for 1 year.

Abstract

Background: Complaints during menstruation include menstrual pain disorders caused by excessive myometrial muscle contractions which reduce blood flow, resulting in a lack of oxygen in the myometrium cells which results in pain during menstruation. Objective: this research is to examine and review several literature related to warm compresses for menstrual pain in teenage girls. Method: This type of research is qualitative with a literature study approach review. Resources used in the search database electronics are Google Scholar, PubMed, and Indonesia One Search with keywords tailored to the required title. Articles used to support research are before 2024. Results: Literature analysis explains that warm compresses are a safe intervention and non-pharmacological alternative therapy that can be used to reduce menstrual pain in young women.
