Abstract

Candida albicans is a single cell that is round to oval, and multiply by shoots. The presence of Candida as a normal flora in the female genital tract and the increase in pH in pregnant women.The purpose of this study was to identify Candida albicans in the urine of pregnant women who visited RSUD Labuang Baji Makassar. Type of research is laboratory observation using 7 samples.The results of this study are presented in the form of tables and accompanied by narrative so that the results of identification of Candida albicans in the urine of pregnant women who visited the hospitals Labuang Baji Makassar.The result of the research showed that there were 2 samples which showed positive Candida albicans with 28.6% percentage and 5 samples showed negative not found Candida albicans with percentage of 71,4%.It is recommended for pregnant women to maintain sanitation of environmental hygiene, because the main factor causing vaginal Cadidiosis is hygiene problem.

Abstract

The background of this study is the habit of people who like to consume carbonated beverages in excess without paying attention to the negative impact on health. One of the elements contained in carbonated beverages is sodium, which when consumed in excess can cause various diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine the sodium content in carbonated beverages in Makassar. The type of this research is laboratory observation with quantitative analysis technique. Samples examined in the form of ten brands of carbonated beverages in Makassar are examined by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (SSA) method. This research was conducted on 25 to 27 June 2016 at Health Laboratory Installation Laboratory of Center of Health Laboratory of Makassar. The results showed that the ten brands of drinks have sodium content in accordance with the reference value of BPOM is 480 mg / saji. The average value of sodium content obtained 24.63 mg / 100 ml or 79.77 mg / saji with the highest content of 42.21 mg / 100 ml or 139.29 mg / s serving on samples of T brands and the lowest content of 12.97 mg / 100 ml or 32,43 mg / saji on sample of GS brand. Sodium in carbonated beverages derives from several ingredients into the composition of the manufacture of this beverage, such as NaCl contained in water, sodium benzoate, trisodium citrate, and others.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how much the ability of honey used as a sample can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus. This research was conducted by laboratory experiment by testing Honey Concentration Effect in Staphylococcus aureus Growth by using concentration: 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25%. This research was conducted at GG Clinic of Makassar City. The population in this study was honey and the samples in this study were honey with dilution of 5% v / v, 10% v / v, 15% v / v, 20% v / v, and 25% v / v. The independent variable in this study is the concentration of honey while the dependent variable in this research is the growth barrier area of ​​Staphylococcus aureus. From the results of this study showed that honey with dilution can not inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus

Abstract

Chlorine is the result of human engineering that provides many benefits both good and bad life. The use of chlorine in the deodorant causes irritation to the skin and causes burns and piercing sensations, inflammation and vesicle formation. The purpose of this study was to identify chlorine substances in branded deodorants traded in Mall Wisata UIT Makassar. The samples of deodorant studied were 5 samples. Based on the results of the research, there were positive results containing chlorine from 5 samples studied, because the sample solution color change after added reagent solution Cl2-14 drops and Cl2-2 2 drops. It is suggested to the public to be more careful in choosing deodorant and for the next researcher to examine the level of branded deodorant.

Abstract

The background of this study is someone who frequently consume amino acid supplements on a regular basis with the aim to magnetize the muscles symmetrically and reduce body fat where the muscle can be large because the muscle fibers are trained so that size increases and muscle enlargement requires a lot of protein and carbohydrates to Weight training. The purpose of this study was to look at the levels of SGPT (Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase) in amino acid supplement users. The type of this research is laboratory observation with quantitative analysis technique. The samples examined were serum from amino acid supplement users at Banta'-bantaeng gym. The study was conducted on 9-10 July 2016 at the laboratory of Lung Health Center of Makassar Society. From the results of the study, the content of SGPT in Amino Acid Supplements users does not exceed the normal values ​​and can be expressed the levels of SGPT in normal amino acid supplement users, and to the supplement users to stay careful and careful in choosing the supplements to be consumed.

Abstract

This research is motivated by checking the number of platelets that must be done as soon as possible and not more than 2 hours. The purpose of this study is to see whether there is a significant difference to the Counting of Platelet Count by Using Brecher Chonkrite Method with EDTA Blood Sampling for 1, 2 and 3 Hours at Diploma Three of Health Analyst University of Eastern Indonesia. This research is a quasi experiment with sampling technique by accidental sampling. From the research done on 20 samples, we get the data of platelet count before and after 2 hours that Fcount (-37,22) <Ftabel (8,57) meaning there is no significant difference to the result of the count count of the platelet count of brecher chonkrite method with variation Suspension time of 1 hour, 2 hours and 3 hours. It is suggested that on hematology examination specially on counting blood platelet counts using EDTA samples can be suspended with a delay of 1, 2 and 3 hours. But it would be nice that the sample to be examined is not suspended, because it can cause a decrease in platelet count even though the decrease did not experience a significant difference.

Abstract

This research is based on the existence of two blood dilution methods commonly used in the laboratory that is blood dilution using thoma pipette and test tube. The purpose of this research is to know the difference of calculation result of thrombocyte count with blood dilution using thoma pipette and test tube. This research is a laboratory observation research where the sample is examined 20 times. From the research that has been done on blood samples of EDTA, obtained the total number of platelets with blood dilution using thoma pipette is 6,284,000 with mean 314,200, while the total number of platelets using reaction tube is 6,456,000 with mean 322,800. Based on the results of research conducted 20 times on samples of EDTA blood obtained t count value (1.443) smaller than t table (2.024) or (t <t table), so it can be concluded that there is no significant difference in results Platelets with blood dilution using thoma pipettes and test tubes. Based on the result of research, it is suggested that blood dilution using thoma pipette and reaction tube can be used to calculate platelet count.

Abstract

Drugs are materials or alloys, including biological products used to influence or investigate physiological or pathological systems for diagnosis, prevention, healing, recovery, health promotion and contraception for humans. In the treatment of a disease is not always used drugs, often massaged, scraped with coins, surgery, cut, and so on, but most use drugs. The purpose of this study is to determine the main factors that affect the selection of generic drugs or branded drugs on Health Analyst Students of the University of East Indonesia. The type of this research is analytical survey research using cross sectional study approach that is the measurement conducted only once. Subjects studied were Health Analyst Students with a large sample of 162 people. The sampling method used is simple random sampling. The results showed that there was influence between the security and the price of the drug with the p value of 0.034 and 0,000 respectively on the type of selection of generic drugs or branded drugs on the students, while the knowledge, efficacy and quality of drug p value of 0.054 respectively; 0.201; 0.985 indicates no effect. Abstract

Research has been done. Jamu carrying is one of the traditional medicine that is highly observed by the community because the price is cheap and easy to obtain. To find out whether or not Escheichia coli bacteria in herbal carrying in the herbalist sellers carry around Abdul Kadir street. This research was conducted by laboratory observation method which presented in the form of deskritif. Performed by purposive sampling. From the observed results, samples B and C Jamu carrying contain Escherichia coli and sample A did not contain Escherichia coli.Conclusion of three samples studied two of which contain Escherichia coli bacteria. Disasrankan to the next researcher to check the contamination of the herbal carrying quantitatively by calculating the total plate number.

Abstract

Burger meat is currently in great demand by the community as one of the food sources of protein. But this burger meat can be contaminated by bacteria, one of which is Escherichia coli. The presence of Escherichia coli in water or food is also considered to have a high correlation with the discovery of disease seeds (pathogens) in food. A study was conducted to identify the bacteria Escherichia coli in burger meat sold in fast food restaurants in Makassar. This research was conducted with several bacteria identification test and also biokima test. Sampling technique is random sampling, with 2 samples from different places. From the results of the tests that have been done, in 2 samples of burger meat, all showed positive results of the presence of bacteria, where the results of biochemical tests showed characteristics of Escherichia coli, so it can be concluded that the two samples of burger meat sold in fast food restaurants in Makassar The presence of Escherichia coli bacteria.
