Abstract

Water is the most important element in life after air, but water is also the main cause of many diseases. This study uses a descriptive quantitative method with the Secondary Data Analysis approach. We got this secondary data from the Environmental Health Inspection of the North Sumatra Provincial Health Office results. The research results from these data are data Drinking Water Quality Monitoring data in 2021-2022 with 1,317 facilities owned by North Sumatra Province in 33 Regencies/Cities. To data for North Sumatra Province in 2021, 74.39% of the 1,316 facilities will carry out Drinking Water Quality Monitoring. Moreover, it has reached the target indicator of 65%. Meanwhile, Gunung Sitoli City needs communal drinking water facilities. Data for the Province of North Sumatra for 2022, the achievement of the indicator for supervised drinking water facilities is 68.03%, meaning that it still has yet to reach the target of 70%. In conclusion, monitoring of drinking water quality in Sumatra province has been carried out but has yet to meet the desired standards. There are still many areas where supervision of the facilities has yet to be carried out. Most often occurs because the area still needs sanitary staff to supervise. Many human resources still deal with this problem but must understand how the supervision procedures should be. Suggestions for the government in the future are to conduct the government carries out Drinking Water Quality Monitoring carried out once regularly according to a schedule per month or every six months to check the quality of drinking water, including inspection of physical, biological, and chemical parameters. Keywords: Drinking Water, Inspection, Monitoring, Water quality

Abstract

One type of disease that can become a threat to global disease is an infectious disease. The airport is one of the public places that has the risk of becoming a portal of entry for infectious diseases. Factors influencing the entry of plague cases into Indonesia are weak supervision at the country's entry points and epidemiological surveillance activities that have not been maximized. Surveillance activities are carried out during the departure and arrival of aircraft from the infected area to the entrance to the Medan Class I port health office work area. Research Objectives: to assess and evaluate an activity using an observational approach to obtain in-depth information by observing carefully and directly at the Class I Port Health Office in Medan, the working area of Kualanamu International Airport. Method: this research is a type of evaluative research that evaluates and assesses an activity system using qualitative methods to obtain information from data sources or informants regarding activities that have been carried out, in order to be able to explain the actual situation in the field. Results: The problems encountered were workers' health, data reporting and data dissemination. Epidemiological surveillance of workers' health is still lacking so that additional workers' health is needed, then reporting weekly disease data so that current disease trends can be identified, as well as dissemination to stakeholders who are competent in their fields Keyword:  Airport, Evaluation,Surveillance.

Abstract

Typhoid fever is a global health problem, especially in developing countries, one of which is Indonesia. The incidence of resistance to the use of antibiotics in the treatment of typhoid fever can occur due to inappropriate use of antibiotics. This study aims to determine the impact of the application of clinical pathways on the quality and quantity of antibiotic use in typhoid therapy at FMC Bogor Hospital. This research is a descriptive analytic study conducted retrospectively which was analyzed using the Gyssens and ATC/DDD methods. The research data was taken from patient medical records for the period January-December 2018 and January-December 2020 which met the inclusion criteria. The results showed that from 115 medical records of typhoid fever patients, ceftriaxone was used as the most widely used antibiotic for typhoid therapy. The quality of antibiotic use as much as 40% was declared rational before the use of clinical pathways and as much as 57.3% after the use of clinical pathways (category 0), while the other 60% were irrational (categories I-VI) and after CP as much as 42.7% were included in category 0, the rest fall into the irrational category (Categories I-VI) which includes the use of antibiotics that are not appropriate for the administration interval, the use of antibiotics that are too long, the use of antibiotics that are too short, there are other antibiotics that are more effective, and there are other antibiotics that are less toxic /safer. The quantity of antibiotic use was stated to exceed WHO standards, namely the use of ceftriaxone by 81 DDD/100 patient days before the clinical pathway and 92.4 DDD/100 patient days after the clinical pathway. Based on the results of statistical tests, it was obtained 1) There were differences in the quality of antibiotic use between before and after the implementation of the clinical pathway in inpatients with typhoid fever at FMC Bogor Hospital; 2) There are differences in the quantity of antibiotic use between before and after the implementation of the clinical pathway in inpatients with typhoid fever at FMC Bogor Hospital. The results of this study are expected to be a consideration for the hospital as material for evaluation and improvement in order to increase the rationality of using antibiotics.

Abstract

Support of others is a key factor for mothers who choose to breastfeed their infants, including those who balance work outside the home and breastfeeding. However, little research has been done to understand how maternal support during the postpartum period impacts mothers' ability to later balance work and breastfeeding, in particular full-time work and exclusive breastfeeding. The results of this qualitative study indicate that the timing of support plays a key role in mothers' ability to successfully overcome barriers during the early postpartum period, thus building maternal self-efficacy in addressing problems encountered when they return to work. Fathers’ support can influence mothers’ breastfeeding decisions and behavior. Potentially supportive behaviors have been reported in previous studies, but no studies have directly examined which, if any, of those actions are actually more likely to result in desired breastfeeding outcomes. The two studies reported in this paper address this gap by examining relationships between fathers’ reported breastfeeding support and mothers’ perceptions of received support and breastfeeding intentions, satisfaction, and duration. The Partner Breastfeeding Influence Scale (PBIS) was used in an online survey with 64 women and 41 men (34 couples) and a telephone survey with 80 mothers and 65 fathers (63 couples). Fathers’ and mothers’ reports of how often fathers engage in the types of support measured by the PBIS were used to predict breastfeeding intentions, satisfaction, and duration. In Study 1, responsiveness predicted breastfeeding success and satisfaction for men and satisfaction for women. However, mothers’ intended breastfeeding duration was shorter when fathers both wanted them to breastfeed for a long time and were more appreciative and savvy about breastfeeding. Study 2 showed that the best breastfeeding support is given when a considerate, well-organized teamwork approach is used that is sensitive to the requirements of the mother. Keyword:  Breastfeeding, Family,  Role, Support, Successfully

Abstract

Breastfeeding is very important for babies between 0-6 months. Islamic teachings recommend that a mother must breastfeed her children with the aim that the child will be healthy for the survival and development of the child in the future. The purpose of this study is to find out the factors that cause challenges and obstacles to exclusive breastfeeding in Muslim families in an Islamic and health perspective.
