Abstract

The majority of chronic kidney failure patients (40-60%) require hemodialysis (HD) twice a week and often face problems with inadequate venous access. Hemodialysis patients with CKD often use an alternative to central venous access in the form of a well-tunneled double lumen (CDL) catheter or non-tunneled. However, the use of CDL causes many risks of infection This study aims to analyzed risk factors for CDL infection in patients with chronic kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis at dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital period January to December 2021.Descriptive study with retrospective study design was undertaken in the hemodialysis unit at dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang from January to December 2022. There were 100 samples who met the inclusion criteria. The relationship between independent and dependent variables was analyzed using the Chi Square test or Fisher's Exact. The most important risk factors were analyzed using the Logistic Regression test. All data were analyzed by SPPS version 22.0. In this study, there was no significant relationship between gender, age, ureum, creatinine, leucocyte and length of use with the incidence of CDL infection (p > 0,05), however there is a significant relationship between nutritional status with the incidence of CDL infection (OR = 31.418 (CI5% 10.028 – 98.438); p = 0.000); there was a significant relationship between catheter location with the incidence of CDL infection (p = 0.000); and there was a significant relationship between the type of catheter with the incidence of CDL infection (OR = 32.276 (CI5% 4.096 – 254.319); p = 0.000).In this study, it was found that the factors influencing CDL infection were nutritional status and type of catheter. Keyword: Catheter, CDL, Chronic Kidney Failure, Haemodialysis, Infection

Abstract

This study aims to map a digital movement of the Aedes aegypti mosquito in high-risk areas for dengue fever outbreaks, taking into account the public’s knowledge of dengue fever, attitude towards their environment, action towards the environment, environment conditions of the community, weather and climate factors, and mosquito density assessed through the House Index(HI). This study is a quantitative observational analytic research with a cross-sectional design. The result of the linear regression test on the cultural variable of knowledge, attitudes, and family support showed an value of α >0,05, indicating the knowledge, attitude, and family support are not important internal factors in aeradicating dengue fever. Mainwhile, the action and community leader support variable showed value α <0,05, which are important internal and external factors in reducing dengue fever levels. Then, HI value for these sub-districts is 6-7, meaning thet the mosquito density is high. The Aedes aegypti mosquito buffer zone has a flying distance 200 meters according to the CDC, so ares within that reach can be affected. This is clarified by using a digital map of the risk area of the Aedes aegypti mosquito causing dengue fever. In conclution, the digital map that includes cultural data, aera characteristics starting from weather, climate, population density, altitude, temperatue, humadity, and characteristics of mosquitoes inhabiting an area, whether they are clustered os spread, can cause the movement of dengue fever mosquitoes or Aedes aegypti to become more aggressive in their activities. So, the internal and external factors in the habitat of the Aedes aegypti mosquito can cause its movement to become more dunamic in spreading the dengue virus. Keywords: Aedes aegypti Mosquito, Culture, Dengue Fever, GIS (Geographic Information System)

Abstract

CC16 or Clara cell secretory protein-16 is a protein produced from the secretion of respiratory epithelial club cells, especially in the lungs. CC16 in several studies has anti-inflammatory effects and plays an important role in potential biomarkers and pathogenesis of chronic lung damage. One of the main respiratory diseases that attacks the lungs is COVID-19 (Coronavirus disease 2019). COVID-19 survivors had significantly decreased serum CC16 levels. The purpose of this review is to draw conclusions based on findings based on research results on the potential of CC16 as a biomarker of lung damage in COVID-19 survivors. This research used a literature review of research published from 2019-2023 in electronic media, such as ProQuest, Science Direct, CINAHL, and Pubmed. The number of Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) research articles obtained was seven articles that met the criteria. The research subjects of the study involved COVID-19 survivors. The keywords used Clara cell secretory protein-16 (CC16), a biomarker of lung damage, and COVID-19 survivor. They revealed that serum CC16 levels were found to be a potential damage or biomarker of lung disease in COVID-19 survivors. This review concluded that CC16's structure and the possible formation of mechanisms molecular and cellular can inhibit inflammation and in clinical applications are thought to be potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets of respiratory disease or chronic lung damage.  Future research is required to investigate this hemoprotein in the circulation of COVID-19 survivors. Keywords:  Biomarker, CC16, COVID-19 survivors, Clara cell protein-16
