Abstract

Background: Learning Cycle Learning Model (LC-5E) is a flexible learning model and can improve the development of Concepts, namely how knowledge is constructed in the minds of students and students' skills in finding knowledge meaningfully. Method: This research is a descriptive research type. Population in this research is all student of class XI IPA SMA Negeri 10 Ambon which consist of 51 student and become sample of research in class XI IPA2 which amounted to 26 students. Data on biological learning results obtained through initial and final tests and observations to observe cognitive abilities were obtained through LKS results. Data analysis used qualitative descriptive analysis. Results: The results data obtained with the average score of achievement of the initial test 40 and are in the qualification failed, cognitive aspect 90 was in complete qualification. Based on the acquisition of the value of the evaluation results obtained that the learning by using the model of Learning Cycle LC-5e on Biology subjects can improve student learning outcomes of grade XI IPA2 SMA Negeri 10 Ambon. Conclusion: The improvement of learning by using Learning Cycle Learning Model (LC-5E), seen from the number of students who scored above KKM 75. Before doing the teaching and learning activities, the presentation of the number of students who scored KKM was 19%. After doing the teaching and learning activity that is the second meeting, the presentation of the number of students who get the value of KKM increased to reach the maximum number of 100%.

Abstract

Background: Benalu is one of the plant species that lives attached to other plants. The parasite is hemiparasit or half parasitic because it has a green leaf substance (chlorophyll) used for the assimilation process and only sucks water and organic matter from its host plant. Flavonoids are phenol compounds commonly found in vascular plants including parasites. Flavonoids are useful for protecting cell structures, increasing the effectiveness of vitamin C, anti-inflammation, preventing bone loss and as an antibiotic. Method: Total flavonoid content in clove parasite tea using UV-Vis Spectrophotometer method. Results: Total flavonoid in tea clove parasite was 0.2819%. Flavonoids found in tea parasite cloves are low with the presence of heating and temperature factors. Conclusion: Based on the quantitative test, leaf parasite is the highest flavonoid level of 13.702% and after being made tea, flavonoid levels changed to 0.281%.

Abstract

Background: Moringa leaves are vegetables rich in nutrients, but rarely used by the community as a vegetable, because the aroma is sharp and bitter taste. Making Moringa leaf syrup can reduce the aroma sharp and bitter taste. Addition of sugar can affect the color, taste, aroma and viscosity of Moringa leaf syrup. Method: This study to measure organoleptic quality of Moringa leaf syrup using scoring method. Result: The result showed that the best color indicator was A0 treatment (70%), while the best taste, aroma and viscosity indicator was A3 (85%). Conclusion: There is influence of addition of sugar to organoleptic quality (color, flavor, aroma, viscosity) from Moringa leaf syrup. For color indicator with best criterion is treatment A0 (70%), while indicator of flavor, aroma and viscosity with best criterion is treatment of A3 (85%).

Abstract

Background: Laor is a variety of types of marine worms (Polychaeta) that appear periodically in large numbers at sea level at any given time and consumed by the Ambon island community. Environmental factors that affect Laor's presence are light, salinity, and temperature. Laor lives on a rocky substrate such as those found in the waters of the village of Latuhalat, the village of Allang, and the village of Hutumuri. Method: The method used to analyze the protein content of Laor worm is Kjedhal method and the data is analyzed with nonparametric statistic, and if different then further test is done by using LSD (Least Significance Difference) test. Results: At the time of Laor sampling in the village of Latuhalat, Allang village, and Hutumuri village, wavy surface conditions, water in low tide, the weather is sunny, and the three villages have sandy coral substrate. While the environmental chemical physics factor in Latuhalat village shows salinity is 33o / â—‹â—‹, temperature is 30oC, and pH is 5.23. Allang Village has a salinity of 30o / â—‹â—‹, a temperature of 29oC, and a pH of 7.55. The village of Hutumuri has a salinity of 32o / â—‹â—‹, a temperature of 28oC, and a pH of 5.50. The results of protein content analysis showed that the average Laor protein level from Latuhalat village was 14.293%, Allang village 15.0497%, and Hutumuri village 10.952%. While the average protein level in Laor worms showed Laor worm protein levels from each village were significantly different. Conclusion: The average of Laor worm protein from Ambon Island waters is significantly different from that of Latuhalat 14.293%, alang 15.0497% village, and Hutumuri village 10.952%. The average Laor worm protein level tested with parametric statistic showed Laor worm protein levels from each village were significantly different.

Abstract

Background: Survey of researchers in SMP N 38 Semarang, it turns out there are still many teachers who use conventional learning methods and combinations of several methods have not involved students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Learning activities are still dominated by teachers. This resulted in students tend to be passive and the classroom atmosphere became teacher centered. To overcome this problem learning needs to be varied so that the learning process activates students more. Method: The study was conducted through the development method (research and development) which consisted of three stages, namely introduction, development, and evaluation. Results: Based on data analysis, cognitive learning outcomes reached 71.4% completeness with the results of the Gain Test of 0.71 (high gain category). Psychomotor learning outcomes achieved 74.60% achievement, achievement of affective learning outcomes was 73.39% while inquiry skills gained 71.52%. Conclusion: Based on the achievement of learning outcomes, it can be concluded that the devices developed are considered effective. Positive responses of students to teaching materials were 86.40%, while the positive responses of students to LKS reached 87.46%. This means that learning devices developed can be applied in learning.

Abstract

Background: "Siasia" is a seaworm species in the phylum that includes Sipuncula Sipunculidea class. This animal has been consumed for generations by coastal communities Nusalaut Island, central mollucas but not yet universally known. Until now there has been obtained gisi complete composition. This study aimed to identify the composition of fatty acids contained in vain fresh seaworms. Methods: Seaworms vain taken from coastal waters of Negeri Titawaai and Nalahia Nusalaut Island, Central Moluccas in March 2014. The parameters analyzed include methods is sokhlet fat content and fatty acid by GC method. Results: The results showed fresh siasia fat content 1.12% of coastal waters Titawaai while 1.91% of coastal waters Nalahia. Fatty acids seaworms were identified from coastal waters Titawai is kaparat acid (C10: 0), lauric acid (C12: 0), myristic acid (C14: 0), palmitoleic acid (C16: 1), stearic acid (C18: 0), linolenic acid (C18: 3) acid and eicosapentaenoic (C20: 5) while the fatty acids of seaworm vain of coastal waters Nalahia include is lauric acid (C12: 0), myristic acid (C14: 0), palmitoleic acid ( C16: 1), stearic acid (C18: 0) and eicosapentaenoic acid (C20: 3). Conclusion: The fat content of fresh siasia sea worms is 1.12% from the waters of Titawaai beach, while 1.91% of the waters of the coast of Nalahia.

Abstract

Background: Ecologically, marine waters are divided into several zones, one of which is intertidal waters, where various types have adapted well to habitat conditions in various zones and types of ecosystems. The existence of bivalves plays an important role in the lives of fish and other biota that are bound to one food chain. Method: This research is a descriptive research that is to express descriptive information about bivalves in the waters of Metiella Cape. This study uses data collection techniques using the line transect method where each observation transect is drawn by a rope perpendicular to the coastline of 5 transects with a distance between each transect of 20 meters. As long as the transect is made of sample plots or quadrants with an area of ​​1 m X 1 m with a distance between each of the 5 meter quadrants, observation of the type of bivalvia is carried out in each quadrant. Results: The composition of Bivalvia found in Metiella Cape waters is 282 individuals classified in 2 sub-orders, 5 super families, 5 families, 7 genera, 8 species, namely: Pinna muricatta, Trachycardium rugosum, Fragum unedo, Mactra violacea, Tellina spengleri, Tellina timorensis, Gafrarium tumidum, Meretrix linnaeus. Conclusion: In the waters of Metiella Cape, 8 types of Bivalvia were found, namely: Fragum unedo, Trachycardium rugosum, Mactra violacea, Tellina spengleri, Tellina timorensis, Pinna muricata, Gafrarium tumidum and Meretrix linnaeus. The highest density value is found in transect II with a density value of 5.8 ind / m2 found in the type of Fredoum unedo and the lowest density value found on transect III with a density value of 0.2ind / m2 found in Mactra violacea.

Abstract

Background: Gandaria plants (Bouea macrophylla Griff) are one of the annual Maluku fruits which need to be cultivated because they are beneficial both economically and ecologically. This study aims to determine the effect of sodium benzoate concentration and storage time on Gandaria fruit juice (Bouea macrophylla Griff). Method: The type of research used in this study was an experimental type laboratory with experiments conducted in a closed room. This study uses ripe gandaria fruit in orange. This study used a completely randomized design method with 2 factors, namely, the concentration of sodium benzoate 200 ppm, 250 ppm, 300 ppm and storage time of 5 days, 10 days and 15 days. The parameters measured were vitamin C levels, total solid soluble and total acid levels. Results: The study showed that the concentration of sodium benzoate and storage time had an effect on vitamin C, total acid and total soluble solid. Whereas the interaction between the concentration of sodium benzoate and the length of storage gave a significant effect on total acid. Conclusion: The concentration of sodium benzoate and storage time have an effect on vitamin C, total acid and total soluble solid and the interaction between sodium benzoate concentration and storage time has a significant effect on total acid.

Abstract

Background: Enau is one of the natural resources in the tropics, its distribution is widespread, very necessary and easy to obtain for daily use by local people as a sustainable natural resource. Palm fruit in terms of chemical composition has a low nutritional value, but "kolang-kaling" fiber is very good for health, to reduce fruit damage, then palm fruit is processed into nata which has a high economic value. Method: Making nata de arenga pinnata Merr is aided by microorganisms, namely the bacterium Aceetobacter xylinum. The type of research used is the type of experimental research that is to see the difference in the organoleptic test scores of palm fruit (Arenga pinnata Merr). This research was conducted on December 5 to December 20, 2016. Results: The results showed that organoleptic tests had white, tasteless, chewy texture and a non-sour aroma. Conclusion: There is an influence of temperature with fermentation time on organoleptic test values ​​on the manufacture of palm fruit nata, namely the color and texture of palm fruit nata. Whereas in taste and aroma there is no influence of temperature and duration of fermentation on organoleptic test values ​​on the making of palm fruit nata.

Abstract

Background: Moringa leaves are rich in nutrients and are a source of antioxidants, but are underutilized by the public as a food ingredient because they smell ‘unpleasant '. In an effort to increase the benefits to extend the shelf life of the product and also attract the interest of the community to consume Moringa leaves, Moringa leaves can be processed into flour, then made ice cream with the addition of peanut juice. Method: Implementation of this research was conducted at the Pattimura University Basic Biology Laboratory. This study uses a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Data from the research results were analyzed using inferential statistics One Way Anova (ANOVA). Results: There was an effect of adding variations of peanut juice (Arachis hypogea) to fat content in Moringa oleifera leaf ice cream ie control of 4,457%, addition of 50 ml peanut juice as much as 5,207%, addition of 75 ml peanut juice as much as 5,956% and the addition of 100 ml peanut juice, fat content of 5.993%. Conclusion: There is an effect of adding variations in peanut juice (Arachis hypogea) to fat content in Moringa oleifera leaf ice cream.
