This aim’s study is to analyse the textual function such as theme types of the biblical text of Luke Chapter 17 of the English Standard Version in the site ESV.org. The data of this research are English clauses of English Standard Version (ESV) that comprises 56 clauses from 5 subtopics of Luke Chapter 17. The data source for this research is a biblical version text of English Standard Version (ESV) of Edition 2016 in the online bible site ESV.org. The biblical chapter of Luke 17 comprises 5 subtitles, that is (1) Temptations to Sin, (2) Increase Our Faith, (3) Unworthy Servants, (4) Jesus Cleanses Ten Lepers, and (5) The Coming of the Kingdom. The theory used in this study is of Halliday's Systemic Functional Linguistics. The technical model approach of the data analysis of this research is of Eggins (2004: 314; 318-320) regarding (1) four types of theme (Eggins, 2004: 300-316); (2) theme type analysis in declarative sentence; (3) theme type analysis in elliptical declaratives; (4) theme type analysis in WH-interrogatives; (5) theme type analysis in imperatives; (6) theme in paratactic clause complexes; (7) theme in hypotactic clause complexes; and (8) 3 types of adjuncts (Eggins, 2004: 160-170). Based on the results of research data analysis, the results of this study are: 1) four types of theme of paratactic clause complexes of Luke 17 in the English Standard Version (ESV) Bible revised Edition 2016, that is (1) the topical themes with 33 items (62%), (2) the interpersonal theme with 4 items (7%), (3) the textual theme with 13 items (24%) and (4) the multiple themes with 3 items (7%); 2) the topical themes (62%) is the dominant type of theme of paratactic clause complexes on biblical text of Luke Chapter 17 of the English Standard Version (ESV) Bible in the ESV.og. This study deals with the effort of finding the effect of the Multiple Intelligences Strategy on the students’ reading comprehension Mastery. This study was conducted by using experimental quantitative research. The objective of this study is to find out whether Multiple Intelligences Strategy affects students’ reading comprehension mastery or not. There were 60 students used as the sample of this research who came from eleventh-grade students’of Accounting (AK) major in SMA Swasta HKBP Sidorame. The sample of this research was divided into two groups namely experimental group XI IPA consists 30 students and control group XI IPS consists of 30 students. The experimental group was taught by using Multiple Intelligences Strategy and the control group was taught by using Conventional Method namely Direct Instruction Strategy. The instrument used for collecting the data that was tested in the form of multiple choices with a total number of 25 questions. The test was divided into pre-test and post-test. The data was analyzed by using a t-test formula to see whether the Multiple Intelligences Strategy significantly affects students’ reading comprehension or not. The result of the analysis shows that the t-observed (3.33) is higher than the t-table (1.671) with a level of significance (0.05) and the degree of freedom (df= 58). The result of the analysis shows that the hypothesis of the study is accepted. It can be concluded that Multiple Intelligences Strategy affects students’ reading comprehension. In this study, the writer suggests that teachers should be able to use Multiple Intelligences strategies as an alternative in the teaching process for improving and creating enjoyable learning experiences, especially reading comprehension. Facebook is one of famous social network around people in Indonesia. Here, they can connect to a lot of person around the world. This paper focused in discussing the implicature meaning on speaker utterance and the aim of producing those utterance. Implicature from Yule were used to convey this problem. This paper used qualitative as the method to elaborate the analysis and discussion of the problem. The result of analysis show that speaker imply some point in their communication, such as unknown, agreement or disagreement, and yes/no. Furthermore, this paper conclude there are three aim of people in using implicature meaning while they are speaking; for saving act, making a joke, and mocking.

The development of the times makes it easy for humans to carry out their activities. Thedevelopment of the times affects various fields of technology and entertainment, one of thedevelopments in the field of technology and entertainment is the large number of online gamesthat can be found both on websites and on Android bases. Online games are games that areplayed online or using the internet network, online games can be easily found in internet cafesand mobile phones, so everyone can easily access them, both children and adults can play them.Online games have two impacts, namely good and bad. The good impact is to entertain its users.The bad impact is that many users forget the time, so they forget to do their work. This is provenby the results of this study, statistical test results with SPSS on variable X1 (online game),obtained a calculated value = 17.040 and a significance of 0< 5% so that Ho was rejected. Thismeans that the variable of influence of online games has an influence.Keywords :Online Games and Learning Achievement

This research is useful for increasing students' interest in reading through the local cultural reading text "Mbaba Belo Selambar". This research focuses on the meaning of mbaba belo selambar from Tanah Karo to make a reading text for students so they can be more interested in reading. This research method uses qualitative methods and there are 4 (four) informant subjects in it, consisting of tribal chiefs in Tanah Karo, the bride, the bride's family and the community. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study show what is the meaning of mbaba belo Selambar in Kutambelin Village, Tiga Panah District, Tanah Karo Regency, designing reading texts through Mbaba Belo Selambar for students in Kutambelin Village, Tiga Panah District, Tanah Karo Regency. The results of this study also lead to students' interest in reading, the influence of local culture on students and researchers will design reading texts in English based on "Mbaba Belo Selambar" in Kutambelin Village, Tiga Panah District, Tanah Karo Regency. This research is aimed to analyse grammatical errors in the written essays that consists of simple present tense and simple past tense. The sample member in this research is the eighth-grade students who attend Panca Budi school Medan where simple random sampling method is adopted to generate the participants. Qualitative and descriptive research methods are used as the research design. Documentation method is used as the data collection method because the data are the descriptive essays written by 40 eighth-grade students. The research results revealed that all 4 types of errors were found in the students’ essays such as omission, addition, misinformation, and mis ordering. Omission type of errors were known to be dominating with 92 times of occurrence, followed by addition errors with 70 times of occurrence, misinformation errors with 54 times of occurrence, and lastly, mis ordering errors with only 8 times of occurrence. Therefore, eighth-grade students of Panca Budi school Medan commit a significant large number of errors.
