Abstract

The purpose of this Community Service (PkM) program is to learn about the process of making child-friendly school-based reflective module products that can improve numeracy literacy skills and self-confidence in elementary school students in Dolok Masihul District in grades IV, V, and VI. This activity is carried out by the Serdang Bedagai II team and is carried out every Monday to Wednesday. The PkM activity was held from February 2 – 26, 2022 at SDN 102058 Dolok Masihul. The target of this PkM program is students in grades IV, V and VI of SDN 102058 Dolok Masihul. The form of activities in the implementation of this service includes free tutoring activities for English, Mathematics, Indonesian and PkN subjects which are carried out at SDN 102058 Dolok Masihul. The impact of the implementation of this PkM activity is 1) Produce reflective modules based on child-friendly schools that are ideal for strengthening numeracy literacy abilities and self-confidence of Dolok Masihul District grade IV, V, and VI primary school pupils, 2) Knowing the impact of child-friendly school-based reflective modules on numeracy literacy abilities and self-confidence in Dolok Masihul District grade IV, V, and VI primary school pupils. Abstract

The problem in this study is how effective the use of real objects from fruits is on students' ability to learn vocabulary. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the use of real objects was quite effective in students' ability to learn vocabulary. The population of this study was 192 students in grade 2 SD Brigjend Katamso2014/2015. The sample in this study was 42 students which consisted of 23 students, and 19 students. In this study, the method used in collecting data is by using qualitative and quantitative. In the qualitative method, the researcher uses observation during the learning process in the classroom. While in the quantitative method, the researcher uses questions in the form of a multiple-choice test. In this study, the media used in data collection was in the form of paper. The results showed that using real objects was quite effective in learning vocabulary. This research is based on the results of the students' abilities who achieved an average score of 89.4. 37 students get 80-100, and 5 students score 66-73. These results can be concluded that students can be categorized as capable. The use of real objects in teaching vocabulary makes students more enthusiastic and enjoys the teaching and learning process. Students are happy because they can taste fruits and can actively answer questions easily. So the teacher must be able to create a pleasant situation in the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the influence of students in determining collaborative reading strategies and integrated reading questions and answers from class VIII SMP Swasta Nusantara Lubuk Pakam. This research was conducted using Two-Way ANOVA. The research subjects were students of class VIII of Lubuk Pakam Nusantara Private Junior High School which consisted of 30 students. The instrument used to collect data is multiple choice. The population is 30 students. The results of this study, obtained using ANOVA analysis, the comparison of Fcount and Ftable at a significant level is the learning strategy used by Nusantara Private Junior High School Lubuk Pakam Fcount p = 0.320> 0.05 or Fcount = 1.154 < Ftable = 3.10, not significant.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menyajikan laporan penelitian tentang penggunaan penerapan Teknik Herringbone dan Teknik Numbered Head Together untuk keterampilan membaca siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Sumbul. Mereka diajarkan dengan menggunakan Teknik Herringbone dan Teknik Numbered Head Together dalam membaca teks recount, sedangkan kelompok ketiga (Kelompok Kontrol) diajarkan tanpa menggunakan Teknik Herringbone dan Teknik Numbered Head Together. Teknik analisis data adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Dalam menganalisis data rata-rata nilai pre-test siswa pada kelompok eksperimen satu (Teknik Herringbone) adalah 59,16 rata-rata nilai siswa untuk post-test pada kelompok eksperimen dua adalah 91,83. Rerata nilai pre-test siswa pada kelompok eksperimen dua (Teknik Numbered Head Together) adalah 45 rerata nilai siswa untuk post-test pada kelompok eksperimen dua adalah 69,16. Rerata pre-test pada kelompok kontrol adalah 46,66 dan rata-rata untuk post-test pada kelompok kontrol dua adalah 56,16. Kesimpulannya adalah bahwa penggunaan HT adalah yang paling efektif dalam mengajar teks recount daripada NHTT disarankan agar guru menerapkan teknik ini sebagai salah satu teknik untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa dalam membaca teks recount.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan metode index card matching dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menyimak siswa kelas I SMPN 1 Labuhan Deli. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif eksperimen. Populasinya adalah 275 siswa, namun peneliti akan memilih dua kelas sebagai sampel. Kelas VII-1 yang memiliki 28 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII-9 yang memiliki 29 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Data dikumpulkan dari tes mendengarkan siswa dengan memberikan jawaban pertanyaan yang terdiri dari 7 item untuk kedua kelas (kelas eksperimen dan kontrol). Tes dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari dua jenis, yaitu pre-test dan post-test. Hasilnya, hipotesis H_a diterima karena diketahui bahwa t_terlihat lebih besar dari t_tabel, yaitu (8,02 > 4,23; df = 26) pada kelas eksperimen dan (8,02 > 4,21; df = 27) pada kelas kontrol dan dengan taraf signifikansi = 0,05. Artinya penerapan metode pencocokan kartu indeks; digital storytelling berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menyimak siswa.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to develop an interactive approach to teach descriptive text in reading to the teacher training department. The author employed both quantitative and qualitative research approaches in this study. The data was collected through observations, tests, paper sheets, and teacher conversations during the teaching and learning process. This study's participants will be lecturers from the Fourth Semester Student English Department of Teachers Training. This research takes place in the Fourth Semester Student English Department of Teachers Training. This research makes use of both quantitative and qualitative data. The quantitative data gathered by computing the reading test scores. Observation, questionnaire sheets, and interviews will be used to collect qualitative data. The quantitative data from the data KKM of English subject in the school was 70 as a result of this research, the mean of assessment descriptive text is 76, and the pupils received 6 points more than the KKM grade. The qualitative data collected and analyzed through the observation sheet, interviews, and questionnaires revealed that students are engaged, active, and excited about the learning process Interactive model. The interactive concept was skillfully applied by the teacher with the students.

Abstract

The lack of new reading material is one of the factors reducing students' interestin reading. This makes this research focus on adding reading material withdescriptive text by raising an object that is rarely exposed. Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang pengaruh kemampuan menulis siswa dengan menggunakan teknik muddiest point dalam teks recount di kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Girsang Sipanganbolon. Desain penelitian ini adalah pre-experimental. Kelas XI SMAN 1 Girsang Sipanganbolon dipilih sebagai sampel penelitian ini dengan jumlah 32 siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian one group pretest-posttest design yaitu kegiatan penelitian yang memberikan pretest sebelum diberikan perlakuan, setelah diberikan perlakuan kemudian diberikan postest. Tes ini dibuktikan dalam bentuk tes tertulis. Data pada tes dihitung dengan menggunakan rumus t-test. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa skor post-test lebih tinggi dari pre-test. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan menulis siswa setelah perlakuan. Terjadi peningkatan nilai jumlah siswa. Nilai rata-rata pre-test adalah 62,47 dan nilai rata-rata post-test adalah 69,4. Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa t-test adalah 5,5 dan t-tabel adalah 1,696. Dari data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa t-test lebih tinggi dari t-tabel 5,5>1,696, maka data menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima dan hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak.

Abstract

This study deals with the analysis of types of Politeness Principle are used by main character in Moana Movie and what the dominant types of politeness principle are used by main character in Moana movie. The objective of this study was to analyze types of politeness principle maxim wich are used in Moana Movie and To find out the dominant types of politeness principle maxim in Moana Movie. This research used a qualitative method by selecting and collecting data from Moana movie. After selecting and collecting the data, the researchers identify and analyze the utterances in conversations among characters and used the concept of Geoffrey Leech related to pragmatics study. The result shows that: (1) Politeness Principle categorized as tact maxim 6 data, generosity maxim 3 data, approbation maxim 8 data, modesty maxim 5 data, agreement maxim 6 data, and symphaty maxim 5 data. (2) the precentage of types of Politeness Principle are tact maxim 18 % , generosity maxim 9 %, approbation maxim 24 %, modesty maxim 15 %, agreement maxim 18 %, and symphaty maxim 15 %.

Abstract

Setiap guru harus lebih profesional dalam hal menilai dan mengevaluasi proses dan hasil pembelajaran sesuai dengan tuntutan kurikulum 2013 terbaru terkhusus dalam meningkatkan literasi dan numerasi pada para siswa berbasis Bimbel. Pengetahuan matematika dan Bahasa Inggris sangat dibutuhkan sebagai dasar dalam melaksanakan tugas menilai dan mengevaluasi proses pembelajaran. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk mencerdaskan para siswa dalam mata pelajaran Matematika dan Bahasa Inggris yang dapat digunakan dalam kegiatan sehari-hari di SDN No. 102058 Dolok Masihul yang terkait dalam melaksanakan Kurikulun 2013. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode sosialisasi yang meliputi: Bimbingan Belajar Gratis, ceramah, diskusi, tanya jawab, dan berlatih menilai dan mengevaluasi. Hasil kegiatannya adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan matematika dan Bahasa Inggris murid dan dalam proses pelaksanaan tersebut peran guru sangat penting karena peranan guru dalam hal ini berfungsi untuk meningkatan kompetensi guru dalam menjalankan tugas utamanya. Kata Kunci : Literasi. Numerasi, Bimbel
