Abstract

Environmental issues and climate change due to greenhouse gas emissions from burning fossil fuels have become global challenges that necessitate the search for sustainable solutions. The use of non-renewable energy such as petroleum, natural gas, and coal as the main practice worldwide has resulted in significant negative impacts on the environment such as pollution, environmental degradation, and habitat destruction. Therefore, the transition to New Renewable Energy (NRE) that utilizes renewable resources such as solar, wind, water, and biomass is an important solution that is more environmentally friendly and sustainable. Indonesia, as a country with significant greenhouse gas emissions, has a responsibility to contribute to climate change mitigation efforts in accordance with the 2015 Paris Agreement. During Jokowi's presidency, the Indonesian government showed a strong commitment to achieve emission reduction targets by developing renewable energy. This research analyzes and evaluates the policy and implementation of EBT in Indonesia through a qualitative approach and policy analysis. By examining the government's specific actions in implementing the Paris Agreement and the Energy Law, this research aims to understand the efforts, challenges, and recommendations to support a sustainable energy transition in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract:Risk management has remained one the basic pivots of national security. For a country like Nigeria battling with myriads of national security and public safety threats such as; terrorism, insurgency, urban crime, critical infrastructure sabotage, natural hazards, pandemics etc., the need to strategically integrate the efforts of both the intelligence and risks analysts cannot be overemphasised. This work therefore strongly advocates a functionally decentralised collaboration between all the relevant stake holders in national security management. The work therefore advocates for a fusion of both intelligence and risk management in the business of managing both national security and public safety in ways that will institutionalise a sustainable risk management culture in an ever dynamic world and Nigeria in particular.

Abstract

This research delves into the semiotic analysis of Felix Edon's song Anak Diong, examining its meaning through heuristic and hermeneutic readings. It underscores the centrality of communication in human interaction and the diverse mediums, with music serving as a universal language to express sentiments and to convey messages. Specifically focusing on Manggaraian culture, the text elucidates how music, including the addition of Manggaraigo’et (proverbs), reflects deep-rooted values and philosophies. The methodology involves qualitative analysis of the song lyrics, drawing from both primary data, obtained from interviews and literature studies, and secondary data from relevant sources. Through heuristic reading, the verses are dissected linguistically, revealing layers of meaning and emotional resonances. A hermeneutic reading then delves deeper into the contextual and symbolic significance, offering interpretations based upon literary conventions and cultural insights. The song Anak Diong emerges as a poignant narrative of an abandoned child grappling with identity and longing for parental love. It transcends individual experiences to underscore broader societal issues, urging responsible parenthood and resilience in adversity. The Manggarai language and cultural references imbue the lyrics with profound meaning, resonating with audiences beyond linguistic and cultural boundaries. Ultimately, the text underscores the transformative power of music to convey profound messages and evoke empathy, making Anak Diong a poignant reflection of human experiences and values.

Abstract

Abused use of narcotics and dangerous drugs (narcotics) is a condition that has long been experienced by many countries in the world.  Abused drug use can cause danger because it is basically a transnational crime. This is because there is a cycle in drug abuse, including production and distribution activities. Transnational crime is a crime that involves many countries where this crime crosses national boundaries which is feared to threaten regional security. Then the ASEAN Official on Drugs was present to make joint efforts to manage and prevent drug-related problems in the ASEAN region as well as carry out monitoring implementation plans to evaluate all ASEAN programs on steps to manage and prevent drug problems. Therefore, the author wants to provide an overview of how the ASOD international regime handles drug trafficking in the region. In this paper the author uses a qualitative approach method by collecting several journals, the articles of which will be analyzed and included in this paper. Based on the results obtained, the author concludes that the regime is not effective in dealing with drug trafficking activities in the Golden Triangle area.
