Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk (1) Mengkaji ketidaksetaraan gender tokoh perempuan yang dinikahkan. (2) Mendeskripsikan ketidaksetaraan gender Gadis Pantai. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan analitis Karl Mark untuk menyoroti perbedaan kelas sosial dalam masyarakat. Metode penelitian adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Objek yang diteliti adalah ketidaksetaraan gender gender dalam novel Gadis Pantai karya Pramoedya Ananta Toer, melalui kajian gender dan feminisme. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa perempuan sulit untuk meraih kesetaraan gender di masyarakat yang masih mengagungkan kelas sosial

The focus of the problem in this study is the values of local wisdom within two oral traditions of Warag-Warah and Ringgok-Ringgok of Komering Tribe, South Sumatra. This study aimed to identify and to describe elements of local wisdom within those oral traditions. In addition, this study was established as a real effort to explore, to inventorize, and to document the oral traditions of Komering society. A descriptive method was applied in this study. The data were analyzed by applying qualitative approach on ethnographic elements to demonstrate and explain the value of local wisdom within those oral traditions. The theory applied in this study were oral literature and local wisdom. The conclusion from the analysis proved that there was a concept of social relations among individuals, among individuals and society, among social groups, and among individuals and their God. The value of local wisdom that had been identified were: 1) belief in God, 2) deliberation, 3) responsibility and 4) helping each other. The actualization of the value of local wisdom within the oral traditions of Warag-Warah and Ringgok-Ringgok was in form of behaving in ways that help each other, solving problems by means of deliberation and responsibility. Menulis kreatif selain menjadi mata kuliah wajib bagi mahasiswa TBI IAIN Surakarta juga menjadi salah satu kegiatan untuk mengungkapkan gagasan yang kreatif. Dalam proses penulisan kreatif tersebut diperlukan perenungan yang mendalam, agar tulisan yang dihasilkan benar-benar berkualitas. Penggunaan metode yang sesuai dalam menulis kreatif sangat diperlukan untuk menghasilkan tulisan-tulisan yang berkualitas. Salah satu metode dalam menulis kreatif adalah metode Berpikir Kreatif Cara Spiritualisme Kritis yang digagas oleh Ayu Utami. Metode ini dapat dijadikan salah satu alternatif dalam pembelajaran menulis kreatif. Penelitian? ini ingin mendeskripsikan hasil penerapan metode Berpikir Kreatif Cara Spiritualisme Kritis pada karangan cerpen mahasiswa TBI IAIN Surakarta tahun 2018, yang mengikuti mata kuliah menulis kreatif. Penelitian? ini termasuk dalam penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sampel? data yang diambil dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 65, sesuai dengan jumlah mahasiswa TBI. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu tes tertulis. Peneliti? atau subjek mengamati dan memberikan penilaian terhadap masing-masing cerpen (objek) berdasarkan sembilan kategori penilaian. Hasil penilaian menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata akhir sebesar 3.41, sehingga penggunaan metode yang digagas oleh Ayu Utami berpengaruh baik terhadap cerpen karangan mahasiswa.

This research discusses imagery, diction and figure of speech in a short story entitled ?Jalan Gelap Langit Terang? written by Abdul Wachid. This short story is one of the author?s works in a short story anthology, Bacalah Cinta, published by BukuLaela in 2005. This research reveals some figure of speeches such as diction, imagery and elaboration employed by the author of the short story. This research applied both stylistic approach and descriptive qualitative method. Data collection was done by close reading observation and note taking. The result shows that the author takes the advantage of connotative, English and Indonesian diction in some sentences. The imagery employed by the author covers personification, hyperbole, metaphor, repetition, rhetoric, elypsis, and antithesis. Moreover, the author tends to show repetition and symblolism in his style.

This study discusses moral values in Habiburrahman El Shirazy?s novel: Bidadari Bermata Bening. The aim of this research is to describe the principle of good attitude, the principle of justice, the principle of respecting oneself in the Bidadari Bermata Bening using a pragmatic approach, and its relation to literary teaching materials. Data collection methods used are observation, reading techniques, and literature review. The results of this study are as follows. (1) Moral values based on the principle of good attitude in the novel are the values of being responsible, happy to help, and loyal in everyday life. (2) Moral value based on the principle of fairness in this novel is awareness to give the rights of others. (3) Moral valuess based on the principle of respecting oneself are the value of protecting themselves and maintaining their honor. (4) This novel has fulfilled the criteria of teaching material so that it can be used by teachers as an alternative in literary teaching materials in class XII senior high school. The purpose of this study is to find out reality and morality in Oscar Wilde?s short story entitled Nelayan dan Jiwanya (?NdJ?) written by Oscar Wilde. This study applied Gadamer?s hermeneutics approach. The hermeuneutic procedure of Gadamer?s is dialogic involving historicity and prejudice. Hermeneutics is an interpretative concept towards symbols, traditions, actions, texts, and other forms of concrete materials. The method established in this study is a qualitative descriptive one. It lead the researcher to describing the background of the historical text and the author?s prejudice. The result of this study shows that the description of reality and morality in the Victorian Era, for instance women style or fashion and life, religion issues and atheism, poverty and slavery. This research is based on the development of feminism values in the community. In a patriarchal environment, women have a low position compared to men. Women are subordinated in various fields of life, such as in the fields of education, social affairs and economics. This study aims to describe the values of feminism contained in the novel ?Merry Riana: Mimpi Sejuta Dollar? by Alberthiene Endah. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study with a feminist literary criticism approach. The research method used is content analysis with data collection techniques read and record. The data source in this study is the novel ?Merry Riana: Mimpi Sejuta Dollar? by Alberthiene Endah. Based on the results of the research, in the novel ?Merry Riana: Mimpi Sejuta Dollar? by Alberthiene Endah there are values of feminism which include: (a) the value of feminism in education, (b) the value of feminism in the social field, and (c) the value of feminism in the economic. Javanese people in the past used piwulang text as a source of behavior. Javanese identity is inherent in conduct and behavior. They believe that the Javanese teachings possess valuable values and character. The purpose of this study is to present the Serat Wulang Putra (SWP) as a source of character education for the modern generation. The Javanese text is one of the sources of character education based on Indonesian culture. This type of research is qualitative research focussing on character education designedt and applied to the modern generation. This research is a descriptive qualitative one. The theory applied in this research is content analysis theory. Serat Wulang Putra (SWP) text is analyzed in order to obtain some values that are useful for modern generation character educations, namely mutual respect, obedience to teachers, obedience to parents, toughness, honesty, responsibility, steadfastness, wisdom, patience, love and care, and carefulness. This study aims to describe the image of women in Herry Santoso's novel: Cerita Tentang Rani in the perspective of feminist literary criticism. The method applied in the research is a qualitative one. The purpose of the qualitative method leads the writer being able to get to know the in-depth history of the research environment by applying descriptive research types. Feminist criticism theory of Rosemarie Putnam Tong and gender theory of Judith P. Butler were applied in this research. The results of this study prove that the image of the main character, Maharani, is a strong and tough woman. The images of the woman cover 1) the image of women in her relation with Allah Swt (God); 2) the image of women in her relation with herself; and 3) the image of women in her relationship with others. ABSTRAKMetafora seks dalam Serat Centhini termasuk bahasa figuratif. Bahasa sebenarnya sebuah tanda yang mencerminkan pola pikir, pandangan hidup atau pandangan dunia masyarakatnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menemukan ajaran kesempurnaan hidup di balik metafora seks dalam Serat Centhini. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori mitologi Roland Barthes tentang signifikasi makna. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah Serat Centhini berupa tulisan Latin terdiri dari 12 jilid diterbitkan oleh Karkono Kamajaya melalui Yayasan Centhini tahun 1986 dan narasumber. Datanya berupa data kebahasaan yang berwujud larik yang ada berikut metaforiknya, terutama yang mengandung metafora seksual dan transliterasi hasil wawancara. Hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa ajaran seks dalam SC yang diwujudkan dengan gaya bahasa metafora sebenarnya mencerminkan pandangan hidup masyarakat Jawa. Manusia hendaknya selalu sadar akan bibit kawite 'asal mulanya' dan harus berupaya memaknai makna hidup ini untuk menuju kesempurnaan hidup atau manunggaling kawula Gusti. Konsep ini dalam SC sering diungkapkan dengan bahasa yang arkais, indah, dan santun.Kata kunci: metafora seksual, Serat Centhini, ajaran hidup ABSTRACT Sex metaphor in Serat Centhini (SC) is included in figurative language. Language is actually a sign that reflects the mindset, outlook on life or world view of the people. The purpose of this study is to find the teachings of the perfection of life behind the sex metaphor in SC. This type of research is qualitative research and the method used is descriptive qualitative. The theory used in this research is Roland Barthes's mythology about the significance of meaning. The data source in this research is SC in the Latin writing consists of 12 volumes published by Karkono Kamajaya through Centhini Foundation in 1986 and information from some informants. The data is linguistic data in the form of an array and its metaphorics, especially that is containing the metaphors of sexual tools and the results of interviews. Sexual intercourse taught in SC with metaphorical language style reminds that humans should always be aware of bibit kawite ?the origin of marriage' and must try to interpret the meaning of life in order to achieve the perfection of life ?manunggaling kawula Gusti.? This concept in SC is often expressed in an archaic, beautiful, and polite language.Keywords: sexual metaphors, Serat Centhini, teachings of life
