Abstract

The development of information technology plays a major role in supporting the decision-making process, one of which is through the development of a Decision Support System (DSS). DSS is needed in the world of education, especially in Vocational High Schools, which prioritize the development of vocational skills to prepare students for the world of work. One of the important programs in Vocational High School is Field Work Practice, which provides students with direct work experience in industry. However, the placement process of Field Work Practice students at Wipama Vocational High School is still done manually without the support of a structured system, so there is often a mismatch between student competencies and industry needs. To overcome these problems, this research develops a DSS by combining the Rank Order Centroid (ROC) and Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) methods. ROC serves to determine the weights of five selection criteria, namely interview scores, vocational practices, academic scores, attitudes, and discipline. While the SAW method serves to calculate the value of student preferences based on these weights. This research was conducted on 10 students from the Light Vehicle Engineering (TKR) major. The results show that the system makes the selection process more efficient and selective than the manual method, and is able to recommend Field Work Practice placement in accordance with student competencies. It is hoped that this system can be an effective solution in supporting student placements.

Abstract

E-Peken Surabaya is a web–mobile platform initiated by the Surabaya City Government to empower local economic actors, including MSMEs, food stalls (SWK), and local stores. Since its implementation in 2023, users have reported usability issues, highlighting the need for an evaluative study on service quality. This research adopts a descriptive-quantitative method using purposive sampling, with a total of 385 respondents selected based on active usage. Data collection employed a modified WebQual 4.0 questionnaire integrated with additional variables such as Reliability, Trust, Citizen Support, and Efficiency to capture comprehensive user perceptions. Data were analyzed using SPSS, with Pearson’s r for validity and Cronbach’s Alpha for reliability testing. Using Importance Performance Analysis (IPA), eight indicators were identified in Quadrant I (High Importance Low Performance), which require immediate strategic intervention. These include interface responsiveness (UI/UX), completeness and clarity of product information, accessibility of communication channels, consistency in system maintenance, and assurances in data privacy and security. These areas demonstrated significant negative gaps between perceived importance and performance, suggesting that user satisfaction is being compromised in core service aspects. The integration of WebQual 4.0 and IPA proves effective in isolating service components most in need of reform. As a strategic response, the study recommends incremental improvement planning, periodic performance audits, and scalable solutions to optimize user experience and enhance platform reliability.

Abstract

The wood processing industry in Indonesia, especially in the Southwest Papua region, faces ongoing challenges in accurately counting wooden logs, a task traditionally performed manually. Manual methods are time-intensive and prone to error, leading to inefficiencies in operations and weaknesses in resource management. This study addresses these challenges by applying a deep learning-based object detection approach, specifically the You Only Look Once version 8 (YOLOv8) algorithm, to automate the detection and counting of wooden beams in real time. YOLOv8 was chosen for its ability to perform high-speed and accurate detection even under varying environmental conditions, such as different lighting levels and camera angles. The model was trained on a custom dataset consisting of 265 annotated images of wooden beams, with a split of 70% for training, 20% for validation, and 10% for testing. Performance evaluation using a confusion matrix revealed a detection accuracy of 94%. These findings suggest that YOLOv8 is highly effective in supporting automation within wood processing workflows. By reducing dependency on manual labor and minimizing counting errors, the system contributes to more accurate inventory tracking and enhanced productivity. This research demonstrates the potential of integrating AI-driven models into mobile and industrial applications for improved efficiency in forestry-related sectors.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital innovation in Indonesia's e-commerce industry has encouraged the widespread adoption of live streaming features such as Shopee Live, which enable real-time interaction between sellers and buyers. Despite the growing popularity of this feature, limited research has investigated the behavioral factors that drive its sustained use, particularly by integrating the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) with the construct of trust. This study aims to evaluate users’ behavioral intentions and actual usage of Shopee Live by applying the UTAUT model, extended with the trust variable to better capture the dynamics of live streaming-based commerce. A quantitative approach was employed through an online survey distributed to Shopee users with prior experience using the live feature. Using purposive sampling, a total of 215 valid responses were collected, with a response rate of 86%. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results show that Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, Price Value, Habit, and Trust significantly affect behavioral intention, while Performance Expectancy, Facilitating Conditions, and Hedonic Motivation do not. Furthermore, Habit, Trust, and Behavioral Intention significantly influence actual usage behavior. This study contributes to the e-commerce literature by extending the UTAUT framework with trust in the specific context of live streaming. The findings emphasize the stronger role of trust and social factors over utilitarian and entertainment considerations. E-commerce platforms should focus on strengthening user trust, promoting ease of use, and encouraging habitual usage to increase engagement with live commerce features.
