Abstract

This study aims to determine the reality data whether there is a fun learning effect on learning outcomes in social studies subjects. This research was conducted in the second semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. The method used is an experimental method using a pre test and post test design. The Joyful Learning method is a fun interesting learning as a result of lessons that can direct attention to the learning being undertaken. This is made in such a way that it is in an atmosphere full of fun and not boring for students. The problem in this study is the result of student learning through Joyful Learning. Learning outcomes based on the results of the final test (post test) of students in the material for Preparation for Indonesian Independence, which can be obtained that the learning outcomes of students through Joyful Learning using the independence card media in social science subjects at State Elementary School 060873 in the city of Medan, Sumatra North.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of providing organizational rewards in improving teacher performance at the Tamansiswa Pematangsiantar College. Rewards that will be examined include material rewards and non-material rewards. Meanwhile, teacher performance includes aspects of planning, implementation, and evaluation. Rewards are consistently applied overall with a proportional nominal value. By giving prizes to teachers who excel, healthy competition will be created between fellow teachers. The results of the study show that the rewards given by the school have no effect on teacher performance. The method used in this study uses a mixed method approach (quantitative mix - qualitative embeded type), namely the qualitative method as the primary method guiding quantitative data as a secondary method carried out in one research phase. The informants in the study were the leadership of the Pematangsiantar Branch of Tamansiswa and several teachers who were randomly selected from all levels of elementary, junior high, high school, and vocational school.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that has been going on since the end of 2019 brings its own paradigm to the learning system that takes place in schools and universities. The purpose of this study was to determine the learning independence students of Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is a descriptive study that will provide an overview of student learning independence during online lectures in the odd semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. The population in this study were all students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara. Existing samples were selected randomly with a total sample of 60 students. Qualitatively, student learning independence is still in the low category, both in terms of managing study time (26.67%), the ability to complete routine tasks (18.33%), thinking skills (16.67%), the ability to take initiative (28 ,33%), as well as his confidence in learning (26.67%). Therefore, online learning that is implemented needs to be improved to increase student learning independence.

Abstract

This study was to determine the factors that affect the professional competence of teachers at the Tamansiswa Pematangsiantar College. There is a simultaneous influence of work experience, education level, status, and the self-development of teachers on teacher competence. This study uses a quantitative approach to explore the factors that affect the professional competence of teachers at the Tamansiswa Pematangsiantar College. The dependent variable (dependent) is the professional competence of teachers. The total population is 129 teachers. The sample size is taken to be as many as 109 teachers. The statistical analysis used is multiple regression analysis and the residual test for the moderating variable.

Abstract

This article aims to discuss how the New Order which was dominated by the army dimension used the Golkar Secretariat as a political machine in defending the interests of the government and the military. Initially, the Golkar Secretariat was only filled with around 64 organizations under it. However, along the way, the number of organizations under the Golkar Secretariat continued to swell. This then required the Golkar Secretariat to reorganize its entire structure, both at the national and local levels. This article uses a historical research method with four writing steps, namely: source search, source criticism, formulation of facts, and presentation of new ideas, a political approach. After various consolidations at the national and regional levels, the Golkar Secretariat which was previously only an organization has now turned into a political party with the name Golkar (Golongan Karya) which aims to become a government tool in the 1971 General Election. The main focus that the author will examine in this article is related to Golkar's political actions, especially those in Medan City in the 1971 elections. Another focus is, the author wants to explore and review issues related to Golkar's presence in Medan City. This is inseparable from Golkar's victory in Medan City in the 1971 General Election, even though at that time Golkar was considered a newcomer party.

Abstract

Isu pembangunan pertanian di Kabupaten Simalungun merupakan topik yang menarik. Program masa Orde Baru melalui Repelita diharapkan mampu meningkatkan pertanian yang maju, efisien dan tangguh. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui berbagai program pembangunan pertanian masa Orde Baru serta pengaruhnya terhadap pembangunan pertanian di Simalungun. Adanya politik pembangunan pertanian pada masa Orde Baru dengan cara pengembangan irigasi, benih unggul, pupuk kimia, pestisida dan lembaga pendukung. Lembaga pertanian di Simalungun yang tercantum sesuai Repelita tumbuh dan berkembang dengan pesat ke seluruh wilayah. Rencana pembangunan pertanian di Simalungun berkembang dengan pesat, tetapi tidak berhasil menaikkan taraf kehidupan petani. Pada akhir pembangunan pertanian, banyak terjadi konversi lahan pertanian dari padi ketanaman non pertanian. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan teori politik pembangunan dengan metode penelitian sejarah yang meliputi heuristik, verifikasi, interpretasi dan historiografi.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role and involvement of school committees in improving the quality of education services. This agency acts as an advisory agency, supporting agency, controlling agency, mediator. The quality of education at SMA Tamansiswa Pematangsiantar can be said to be good, but it must continue to be improved. The optimization committee in this school has carried out its four roles. There is good coordination between the school committee and the school on a regular basis and its implementation has been organized with a clear structure. This research is a qualitative field using case study research. Sources of data were taken from the Principal, Deputy Principal, Teachers, Students, and Parents. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documents.

Abstract

The Subject Teacher Conference (MGMP) is a forum for meeting subject teachers in schools. The organization was formed as a means of gathering and accommodating various ideas from teachers. This organization is also a means of accommodating various problems faced by teachers in their respective schools. The importance of establishing MGMP in overcoming problems faced by teachers in education units. Through the MGMP, it is expected that teachers can maintain the quality of their performance in carrying out their duties as teachers in accordance with the needs of the community, especially in the world of work. The role of MGMP in the process of improving teacher performance is required to make various breakthroughs that will build quality education. The purpose of this study was to explore several theories about MGMP, and their role in improving the performance of SKI MA teachers in Langsa City, containing the intention of making guidelines in the teaching process so as to be able to produce teachers who have good performance.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the leadership of universities in increasing the participation of HR performance. In making decisions, it is necessary to involve human resources in the formulation of school development. School readiness in the field of human resources, facilities, equipment and external conditions owned by universities determines the target indicators of success. In developing the quality of universities by implementing policy strategies that include effective involvement and communication of all school components. The school's vision and mission are built based on an agreement reached by input from all components, including stakeholders. This research is qualitative research. The research site is at the Taman Siswa College, Pematang Siantar Branch. Research resource people are university administrators, school principals, vice principals, and teachers. Collecting data using observations, interviews and documentation. The validity of the data is checked using triangulation with the source. Data analysis techniques by means of data editing, data presentation and drawing conclusions and verification.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the physical management, social environment and the role of the principal in managing the school climate to support teacher performance at SMA Tamansiswa. A conducive climate marked by the creation of a physical school environment including an environment inside and outside the classroom as a place to carry out learning activities at school has been managed effectively, providing comfort, fun, joy, and health for teachers at work so that the teaching and learning process can take place. well. The social environment that has been built in the school is to develop good attitudes and behavior. The teachers show a sympathetic attitude and behavior, provide support and motivation to students, and set a good example. The problems that exist in SMA Tamansiswa Pematangsiantar are how to manage the physical environment, how to manage the social environment, and what the role of the principal is in managing the school climate to support teacher performance. Qualitative research methods with interviews and data collection data collectors in SMA Tamansiswa. The results of the study found that the school climate gave good results in the physical and social environment in improving teacher performance at SMA Tamansiswa Pematangsiantar.
