Abstract

Today's people need a way to shop that is easy and can save time and additional costs that can meet their daily needs. With the support and rapid development of the world of technology 4.0, the Alfagift shopping application owned by PT. Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk for Alfamart retail stores is one of the answers to this problem by utilizing Android or IOS applications. From the existence of the application, it will lead to consumptive behavior in its use. This study aims to determine whether online shopping influences consumptive behavior in using the Alfagift application. This research method uses a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to 100 consumers as measured by a scale of 1-5, Smart PLS (partial least squares) is used in the analysis of this study to test external and internal models. The results of this study provide the result that online shopping has a significant effect on consumptive behavior. So that the Alfagift application can answer consumer questions and problems to simplify and increase daily shopping. People's consumptive behavior towards using online shopping applications, especially Alfagift, cannot be avoided without awareness in using these applications. Buying through online stores takes place without time and need. When buying online, one cannot estimate how intensive the purchase will be, in how many months and how many products will be purchased.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the representation of women in television advertisements for Attack Easy detergent promotions and analyze gender inequality based on subordination, workload, and gender and sex differences. The study employed qualitative research and Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis to explore the relationship between signifiers and signs in a sign with denotations and connotations. The findings revealed a complex portrayal of gender, including both gender equality and gender imbalance. While women are depicted as capable of performing heavy work typically done by men, they are still relegated to the role of housewives and remain subordinate in society. Additionally, gender differences are often conflated with sex differences, contributing to ongoing misunderstandings about the nature of gender inequality. Overall, this research underscores the need for more nuanced representations of gender in media and highlights the ongoing challenges facing efforts to achieve gender equality in society.

Abstract

This study explores the significance of interpersonal communication in the relationship between single working mothers and their children in a residential setting. Employing qualitative descriptive methods, the study utilizes primary and secondary sources of data through interviews and observations. Data analysis is conducted through conclusion writing, data presentation, and data minimization. The findings suggest that effective communication between single mothers who work and their children has a substantial impact on their relationship. Parent-child relationships are key factors influencing child behavior. A balanced approach to parenting ensures that healthy persistence does not result in a lack of compassion in the child, and vice versa. Children's behavior is shaped by their surroundings, with parents being the closest elements. Thus, it is essential for single mothers who also play the role of a father to set good examples through prioritizing their children's interests, promoting healthy interpersonal communication, supervising their children, and creating an environment in which children feel secure enough to open up to their parents. Overall, this study highlights the importance of effective communication in building strong parent-child relationships in single-mother households.

Abstract

Stakeholders in the education world are striving to use technology as a tool to advance education, especially in the learning of Arabic language. By combining various media such as audio, visual, and text, learning can be improved and deepened compared to using only one type of media. Arabic is the second foreign language taught in Indonesia, so it is important to utilize technology in learning this language. Therefore, this research aims to describe the problems and solutions of Arabic language learning in the development of learning media. This research uses a qualitative design method and data is obtained from articles and reading sources related to the discussion topic. It can be concluded that linguistic problems include phonetics, morphology, and structure, while non-linguistic problems include learning motivation, learning facilities, teaching methods, learning time, and learning environment. Meanwhile, language learning problems also vary depending on the age of the students and different learning environments. Solutions in media development must be adjusted to linguistic and non-linguistic problems.

Abstract

This research discusses the case of lack of discipline among students at STAI-YDI Lubuk Sikaping, particularly in terms of attendance and payment of tuition fees, which have negative impacts on students' motivation and achievement. This lack of discipline is also caused by disrupted operational activities on the campus. The purpose of this research is to analyze the persuasive communication process of the leaders in motivating students to achieve and discipline them at STAI-YDI Lubuk Sikaping. This research uses a case study approach, which is an approach in qualitative research. This research uses observation and in-depth interviews with leaders and students as informants to collect data. The primary data obtained will be analyzed to find effective solutions in improving discipline and motivation among students on the campus. The persuasive processes carried out by the leaders must be done regularly and periodically to achieve effectiveness and maximum results. In this case, improving students' discipline and motivation is crucial to maintain the expected academic quality and achievement

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the mediating role of job satisfaction in the relationship between work-life balance and the professionalism of ASNs. These two factors are critical to study because an imbalance between work and life may result in unprofessional behavior, and job dissatisfaction may also lead to unprofessionalism at work. The study utilized quantitative research methods, employing Structural Equation Model (SEM) data analysis techniques using AMOS version 22 software. Stratified random sampling was used to select 300 ASNs as respondents, and data were collected using professionalism, work-life balance, and job satisfaction scales. The results indicated that job satisfaction significantly mediated the relationship between work-life balance and professionalism. This study highlights the importance of job satisfaction as a mediator in maintaining the professionalism of ASNs and suggests the need for policies to improve work-life balance in order to enhance professionalism in the workplace. Relevant keywords include job satisfaction, work-life balance, professionalism, ASNs, and Structural Equation Model.

Abstract

The opening of tobacco plantations in East Coast Sumatra in 1870 became a major factor in the creation of ethnic, cultural, and religious diversity in there. All the Malays there were Muslim, then the Europeans came with their Christianity, which was followed by most of the Batak people, the Indians brought Hinduism and Sikhism, and the Chinese brought Buddhism. East Coast Sumatra is a pluralistic region, but there has never been a conflict between ethnicities or religions. Very interesting. However, the reality of the religious life of the people at that time had never been revealed in detail. Furthermore, during the 1930 census it was recorded that there were 4.293 Europeans in Medan and 2.001 of them were women, but their presence in the religious sphere has not been exposed. Therefore, this study aims to narrate the image of colonial women in religion in East Coast Sumatra. The images of colonial women in this study are all forms of mental, spiritual, and daily behaviour expressed by women in religion, including the outward appearance that appears in women and their religious activities in East Coast Sumatra in the period 1870-1942. This study uses the historical method, and the primary data are the Dutch Colonial Government Report (verslag),Volkstelling 1930, maps, newspapers, bulletins and magazines, photographs depicting the religious life of the people of East Sumatra in the period 1870-1942.
