Abstract

Tuberculosis is the biggest infectious disease killer in the world and has long been faced by various countries, including Indonesia. Many TB prevention control programs have been implemented, but public compliance with preventing TB transmission is still low. The research aims to determine the effectiveness of health coaching through TB cards in preventing TB transmission. Quasi-experimental quantitative research design pre-post-test with control group. Purposive sampling technique. The number of respondents in the control and treatment groups was 15 each. Data analysis to measure the significance of the average difference between the 2 groups used the non-parametric Wilcoxon test and the Mann Whitney test. The results of statistical tests show that knowledge p value = 0.000, attitude p value = 0.000 and action p value = 0.000 (p < 0.005). Overall, the research shows that health education through TB cards is effective in increasing TB prevention behavior in the community. Structured and easily accessible information via the TB Card helps the public understand TB transmission, symptoms and preventive measures. Health guidance through TB cards also contributes to community empowerment.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases are still a health problem of global concern as they are responsible for 74% of deaths globally. One of these non-communicable diseases is stroke. Hemorrhagic stroke can result in increased intracranial pressure so that it can reduce perfusion to brain tissue. One of the nursing interventions for patients with Increased Intra Cranial Pressure is head up 300. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of head up 300 position on oxygen saturation of Hemorrhagic Stroke patients at RSUD dr. Soekardjo Tasikmalaya City. The research method used is a comparative descriptive method with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were 48 people. The sampling method used is concecutive sampling which is as many as 9 respondents. Data analysis in this study used the dependent T test because the results of the data normality test showed that the data were normally distributed. The results of the analysis show that the p value is 0.000 which means that there is an effect of head up position 300 on oxygen saturation of Hemorrhagic Stroke patients at RSUD dr. Soekardjo Tasikmalaya City. Suggestions based on the results of this study are that head up 300 nursing interventions are effective in increasing oxygen saturation in Hemorrhagic Stroke patients.

Abstract

Diabetic foot exercise is an exercise designed for people with diabetes mellitus to improve blood circulation and prevent foot ulcers. This exercise activates more insulin receptors and increases blood flow, so the muscles use more glucose and lower blood sugar levels. The study was conducted to find out the effect of diabetic foot exercises on lowering blood sugar in people with diabetes mellitus in the Gisting Health Center working area. The study used a quasi-experimental design using a nonequivalent control group design and involved 16 samples selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis began with the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, followed by the dependent sample t-test to evaluate significant differences in blood sugar levels. The results obtained based on statistical analysis showed a ρ-value of 0.000 and below the significance of α=0.05. The results obtained show the effect of diabetic foot exercises on significantly reducing blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus. Based on these results, the study recommends that people with diabetes mellitus routinely do diabetic foot exercises because this exercise is proven effective in lowering blood sugar levels.

Abstract

The prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia has increased every year, West Java is the province with the second highest prevalence of hypertension problems up to 39.6%. One of the risk factors found in hypertension is excess salt in the body caused by an unhealthy lifestyle. One of the non-pharmacological therapies that can be done is giving young coconut water. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving young coconut water on reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients in the Urug Health Center work area, Tasikmalaya City. The research method was quantitative with a quasi-experimental method and a one-group pre-test and post-test research design, with all hypertensive patients in the village as many as 618 hypertensive patients and a purposive sampling approach obtained a sample size of 18 people. The provision of young coconut water was carried out for 3 consecutive days with 1 time / day as much as 250 cc every morning. The data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis. The results of the study obtained an average blood pressure value before the intervention was given systolic 162.44 mmHg and diastolic 94.89 mmHg, while after the intervention the average systolic blood pressure was 141.89 mmHg and diastolic 85.11 mmHg. The results of the study showed that there was an effect of giving young coconut water on reducing high blood pressure in hypertensive patients with a p-value of 0.000. The conclusion was that there was an effect of giving young coconut water on reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients where potassium helps the body eliminate excess salt through urine. Suggestions are expected that the results of this study can be implemented by further researchers as an alternative therapy for various categories of hypertension.
