Abstract

Background: Feeling anxious due to lack of attention from the surroundings can be solved by providing a good caring performance from the health workers. The nursing experts place caring as the core principle of a nurse in performing his work. Caring behavior refers to giving attention to patients, respecting others, and showing empathy so that a nurse should maintain the relationship with the patients by having this the patients can commit and be responsible with them.Purpose: Knowing nursing caring behavior on anxiety level of hospitalized patients.Methods: This study was a quantitative study. The design was analytical with cross sectional approach. The population of the study consisted of 262 adult patients in average registered at Ryacudu General Hospital, Kotabumi Lampung. The elder and pediatric inpatients were excluded. The samples were 79 respondents. The sampling technique was accidental sampling.Results: Based on the statistical analysis, the p value was 0.487 or the p value > 0.05, there wasn’t nursing caring behavior on anxiety level of hospitalized patients.Conclusion: The health practitioners should improve their nursing quality by following nurse training about therapeutic communication. It is expected that health workers can increase caring so that patient anxiety can be reduced and can improve the quality of health services by providing training to all nursing staff on good and correct therapeutic communication.

Abstract

Background: Stunting or short was failed condition to grow of the baby (0-11 months old) and toodler (12-59 months old) impacted of the cronic malnutrition especially in the first 1.000 days of life its effecting the children to be too short. LBW is a factor that most dominant risk against stunting on child.Purpose : This research was to know the Correlation between history of low body weight of birth with the genesis stunting of the toodler aged 6-59 months in Mataram Ilir Village Seputih Surabaya Central Lampung 2019.Methods: This type of research is analysis observation with cross sectional design with purposive sampling as the sampling technique and Chi Square test as the bivariate analysis.Results: The results of the analysis showed that the frequency distribution of children with a history of LBW was 85 (35%), and the proportion of respondents with a history of normal weight birth was 152 (64.1%). While the frequency of the incidence of infants with normal height was 141 (59.5%), and the frequency of genesis stunting was 96 (40.5%). The results showed that the p-value was 0.005 and OR  was 2.282 (95% CI: 1.29 - 3.8).Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between history of LBW and genesis stunting.

Abstract

Background: The surgery in Indonesia ranks 11th out of 50 treatments for disease patterns in hospitals in Indonesia, which is an estimated 32% of them were laparotomy. The number of abdominal surgical cases in Lampung Province in 2017 was (28.95%) and increased in 2018 by (32.45%).Purpose: Know the effect of health training in knowledge and surgical wound management.Methods: This type of study was quantitative, with the Pre-Experiment design and the design one group pre test - post test. The populations were all of postoperative patients and samples of 34 people with a total sampling technique. Data collection uses questionnaire sheets and the statistical test used dependent t-test.Results: The average knowledge about postoperative wound care before being given health training of 14.18 and a standard deviation of 1.749. The average knowledge about postoperative wound care after being given health training of 17.06 and a standard deviation of 3.142, with p-value = (0,000 <0,05).Conclusion: There was the effect of health training in knowledge and surgical wound management. Health workers are expected to be able to apply the provision of health training to postoperative patients to improve patient knowledge in subsequent care and be used as a reference for making policies regarding the provision of health training to postoperative patients.

Abstract

Background: Nurse as a health worker had a role as educators. The role of nurse educators could be seen from 10 inpatients resulted there were 4 inpatients (40%) stated that nurses did their roles accurately and 6 patients (60%) stated that there were nurses didn’t their roles properly. This condition could cause an increasing amount of patients who uncontrolled  at Dr. A. Dadi Tjokrodipo Hospital  Bandar Lampung.Purpose: To know there was a correlation of nursing education on collaborative discharge planning and motivating patients to control for further care and managementMethods: This research was quantitative method. The design of this study was an analytical survey with a cross-sectional. The samples used in this study were 136 people. Collecting data sampling used a consecutive sampling. The statistical test used a chi-square test.Results: The roles of nurse educator which had not good categories were 73 respondents (53.7%) and the roles of nurse educator which had good category were 63 respondents (46.3%). Low control motivations were 69 respondents (50.7%) and high control motivations were 67 respondents (49.3%). The results of data analysis using the chi-square test showed p-value = 0.001.Conclusion: There was a correlation of the roles of the nurse educator in discharge planning with motivation of inpatients for control. It was expected that the results of this study could be used as material for consideration and input for the hospital to be able to know the importance of the role of nurse educators in discharge planning.

Abstract

Background: Worm infection was an environment-based disease caused by nematode class worms’ intestine and transmitted through the soil. This condition could effect to their ability in school-age children to pay attentiont during the lessons.Purpose: To determine the determinants of roundworms in elementary school students in Silahisabungan Subdistrict (Dairi) , North Sumatera, Indonesia.Methods: The case-control design with a total sample of 150 students taken from 5 elementary schools starting in grade 5 and 6. This research instrument used a questionnaire.Results: That there was no effect between hand washing habits at OR 1.90 (95% Cl: 0.697 - 5.180), there was no effect on nail hygiene by OR 1.19 (95% Cl: 0.505-2828), there was no the influence of footwear use amounting to OR 1.68 (95% Cl: 0.672-2225), there was an influence of the source of clean water of OR = 17.17 (95% Cl: 1,800-1 163,78) and there is an effect of providing latrines at OR = 5.55 (95% Cl : 1,128-27,398).Suggestion: To students to be pay more attention in their personal hygiene, propose to teachers to be able to regularly check the student hygiene such as nail hygiene and make a source of information media in the school environment. Finally, this study asked the health centers to conduct child health screening and conduct counseling about personal hygiene.

Abstract

Background: Dysmenorrhea is an event that occurs during menstruation that occurs and causes teenage girls  are absent from school and daily activities. Based on the results of the survey on November at  Bandar Lampung high school, of the 10 teenage girls who had menstruation as many as 7 (70%)  often complian of severe pain  during menstruation.Purpose: Knowning the effect of cinnamon on pain among teenage girls with primary dysmenorrhea in Lampung IndonesiaMethods: The quantitative research, the design of this study is Pre-experimental with the on-group pretest-posttest approach. The population was teenage girls in grade X and XI at Bandar Lampung  high school and samples were 30 teenagers. Sampling of this research was using purposive sampling technique which was carried out from April, 2019  to Juli, 2019. The analysis used univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using the T test.Results: The mean of dysmenorrhea before consumption was 6.67 and after consumption was 2.13 . The effect of cinnamon on pain among teenage girls with primary dysmenorrhea with p-value 0.00 <0.05.Conclusion: The significant effect of cinnamon on pain among teenage girls with primary dysmenorrheain at Bandar Lampung 13th high school in 2019. Finding in this study could be applied as alternative therapy for teenager and further research need more deep exlporation.

Abstract

Background: An earthquake has  an impact on mental health problems. Lombok earthquake victims undergo an anxiety, neurotic, psychotic symptoms, and Post Traumatic Syndrome Disease. Anxiety have an impact on the mind, body and it cause of physical illness. One of the nursing interventions that can be given to deal with anxiety includes spiritual counseling, which is given so that disaster victims accept their conditions, it is not making disaster a burden and reducing anxiety.Purpose: To determine the effect of Spiritual counseling on anxiety level  in (Lombok) Indonesian earthquake victims.Methods: Quantitative study with a pre-experimental approach using one group pre-post-test design on 25 earthquake victims in Lombok. The instrument was used the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale  questionnaire and the standard operational procedures for spiritual counseling. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis and t dependent test.Results: The anxiety score before spiritual counseling was 19.60 ± 3.26, while the anxiety score after spiritual counseling was 10.04 ± 4.13. Statistical tests showed a significant difference between anxiety levels before and after spiritual counseling for earthquake victims in Lombok (p <0.05).Conclusion: Earthquake victims in order to improve their spiritual quality by joining religious activities routinely to calm the mind and reduce anxiety or trauma, it is caused by earthquakes.

Abstract

Background: Traumatic brain injury  was most source morbidity and mortality at patient by real trauma. Traumatic brain injury  case who dead before to the hospital was caused by shock, hypoxemia and hypercapnia. So needed basic of knowledge and ability to take care of patient of breath disease.Purpose: To explore the factors that influence respiratory distress on traumatic brain injury  at Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo hospital in Purwokerto, IndonesiaMethods: The kind of this research was correlation with using cross sectional approach. The population of this research was all patients with traumatic brain injury  in the emergency ward Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo hospital Purwokerto on November-Desember 2017. The sample take as 19 person. The analyzed used was Coefficient Contingency Test.Results: The result of this research shows that patient with traumatic brain injury had respiratory distress (57.9%) higher following by phlegm’s accumulation (52,6%) also had the decrease of consciousness (47,4%). There was real influence as statistic between phlegm’s accumulation and respiratory distress on traumatic brain injury (p=0.040). There was as statistically significant between the decrease of consciousness and respiratory distress on traumatic brain injury (p=0,009).Conclusion: It can be concluded that there was a statistically significant influence between decreased awareness of respiratory distress on traumatic brain injury (p=0.0009)

Abstract

Background : Emergency conditions are conditions that occur suddenly and are very life-threatening, so help must be given quickly, precisely and correctly. One of the life-threatening conditions is cardiac arrest, which is a condition where the heart cannot function anymore, and requires collaboration between health personnel in providing help and this always ends in death. The incidence of cardiac arrest at the Ulin Regional General Hospital during May to June 2017 was 88 cases and most of the deaths occurred in patients. Cardiac arrest can still be saved by the correct nursing care process so that return of spontaneous circulation can occur.Purpose : Identify and explore the experience of nurses doing nursing care for cardiac arrest.Methods: This type of research is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The number of participants in this study were 9 nurses in the emergency room and intensive care unit. The process of retrieving data using interview guides, and data analysis using Colaizzy.Results: This study obtained a major theme, "Collaborative Teamwork" when providing nursing care for cardiac arrest. This theme was formed from two sub-themes namely "division of job teams", "collaboration" and KIE to the patient's family.The participant describing the existence of maintained teamwork can help smooth the process of nursing cardiac arrest so that patients can return to the condition of return of spontaneous circulation.
