Abstract

This research is a Classroom Action Research which aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes of students of class VIII B of PGRI 1 Tamalate Makassar. The subjects of this study consisted of 35 students. Data collection techniques used are observation sheets and tests at the end of each cycle in accordance with the material being taught. From the results of the analysis in the first cycle obtained mathematical learning outcomes of students with an average score of 55.43 and a standard deviation of 18.95 of the ideal score achieved is 100. In the second cycle, improvements and additional actions from the previous cycle were held so that an increase student mathematics learning outcomes with an average score of 73.71 with a standard deviation of 14.71 of the ideal score achieved is 100. Based on the results of the analysis it can be concluded that the mathematics learning outcomes of students of class VIII B SMP PGRI 1 Tamalate Makassar experienced an increase after it was implemented teaching and learning process by applying cooperative learning type Student Team Achievement Division (STAD).

Abstract

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research that aims to increase interest and achievement of learning mathematics using Advance Organizer model. This research was conducted in two cycles with 4 meetings in each cycle. Subjects in the study consisted of 28 students, 17 male students and 11 female students of grade IX SMP Negeri 2 Merauke. Data collection techniques used are test techniques for achievement tests and non-test techniques for interest questionnaires and observation sheets. The result of the research is the interest of learning mathematics of students in cycle I was 64,29% which is in good category and very good and in cycle II student learning interest increased to 78,58% which is in good category and very good. Student learning achievement in pre cycle with the value above 61 was 35,71% complete. In the first cycle student achievement increased by 53.57% of students value above 61 and on the second cycle student achievement increased to78.57% of students who reached Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). Based on the result, it can be concluded that Advance Organizer model can increase interest and achievement of mathematics learning of grade IX students of SMP Negeri 2 Merauke.

Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine student responses after being given an introduction to mathematical literacy using card media. Literacy cards contain literacy contexts in everyday life that are associated with commonly encountered problems. The research method used is descriptive qualitative using instruments in the form of questionnaire student responses. The questionnaire was prepared and tested for validity by expert validators. There were three dimensions developed in this questionnaire including the appearance of card media, the usefulness of literacy cards, and the suitability of using literacy cards. Each dimension was then developed into an indicator and elaborated on several questionnaire points. The subjects of this study were eighth grade students, totaling 18 students. The results were analyzed using microsoft excel to determine the level of student response. A description of the results was carried out to provide a clear picture of each indicator. Based on the results, it obtained on the display indicators and content of literacy cards as much as 68% agree, ease of use of literacy cards as much as 70% and the usefulness of literacy cards by 71% which shows that the interpretation of literacy recognition through card games gives a good response by respondents.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika materi bentuk aljabar kelas VII SMP Negeri 15 Ambon. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan terdiri dari Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), Bahan Ajar (BA), dan Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan model 4-D yang terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu Pendefinisian (define), Perancangan (design), Pengembangan (develop), dan Penyebaran (disseminate). Proses pengembangan dilakukan hanya pada sampai tahap ketiga. Perangkat yang dikembangkan divalidasi oleh dua orang dosen ahli pendidikan matematika Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Pattimura dan satu guru mata pelajaran Matematika, kemudian dilakukan uji keterbacaan untuk siswa dan guru. Data validasi dikumpulkan melalui lembar validasi yang telah direvisi sesuai saran validator. Dari hasil validasi diperoleh Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran berada pada kategori sangat baik, Bahan Ajar berada pada kategori baik, Lembar Kerja Siswa berada pada kategori sangat baik, rata-rata penilaian umum validator 3.2, rata-rata respon guru 100%, rata-rata respon siswa 99%. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa perangkat yang dikembangkan valid. Abstract: The aim of this research is to develop a mathematics-learning device for algebraic form material for class VII SMP Negeri 15 Ambon. Learning tools developed consist of Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), Teaching Material (BA), and Student Worksheet (LKS). This research was a 4-D model development research consisting of four stages, namely Defining, Designing, Developing, and Disseminating. The development process was carried out only up to the third stage. The device developed was validated by two expert lecturers in the Mathematics and Teaching Education Faculty at Pattimura University and one mathematics subject teacher, then a readability test was conducted for students and teachers. Validation data was collected through a revised validation sheet according to the validator's suggestion. From the validation results, it is found that the Learning Implementation Plan is in the very good category, the Teaching Materials are in the good category, the Student Worksheets are in the very good category, the average of validator general assessment value is at 3.2, the average teacher response is 100%, the average student response is 99%. The research results obtained that the device developed is valid.

Abstract

Abstrak: Miskonsepsi atau pemahaman yang tidak akurat tentang suatu konsep masih sering dilakukan siswa termasuk pada transformasi geometri. Karena itu, tujuan dari penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk miskonsepsi dan penyebab berdasarkan taksonomi SOLO dalam menyelesaikan soal transformasi geometri. Peneliti menggunkan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI MIPA yang terdiri dari 4 subjek yang melakukan miskonsepsi berdasarkan taksonomi SOLO. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data terdiri atas reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi. Untuk melihat keabsahan data peneliti menggunakan triangulasi teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa siswa SMA melakukan lima bentuk miskonsepsi berdasarkan taksonomi SOLO dalam menyelesaikan soal transformasi geometri: (1) bentuk miskonsepsi yang dilakukan siswa pada level prastruktural adalah miskonsepsi terjemahan, miskonsepsi sistematik, dan miskonsepsi strategi; (2) bentuk miskonsepsi yang dilakukan siswa pada level unistruktural adalah miskonsepsi strategi dan miskonsepsi sistematik; (3) bentuk miskonsepsi yang dilakukan siswa pada level multistruktural adalah miskonsepsi tanda dan miskonsepsi berhitung; (4) bentuk miskonsepsi yang dilakukan oleh siswa pada level relational adalah miskonsepsi sistematik, miskonsepsi berhitung, dan miskonsepsi tanda. Penyebab miskonsepsi yang dilakukan siswa yaitu pemahaman siswa yang rendah, siswa terburu-buru dalam menyelesaikan soal, siswa lupa rumus yang digunakan, siswa keliru dalam memasukan nilai ke dalam rumus, dan siswa tidak teliti dalam menghitung. Abstract: Misconceptions or inaccurate understanding of a concept are often carried out by students, including the material of geometric transformation. Thus, this study aims to describe the forms of misconceptions and causes of misconceptions by upper secondary school students based on SOLO taxonomy in solving geometry transformation problems. Researchers used a qualitative approach. This study was carried out in class XI of YPK Merauke High School. Four students who made misconceptions became participants chosen based on SOLO taxonomy. Data were collected using tests and interviews. The validity of the data used triangulation techniques, while data analysis techniques consist of reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results showed that upper secondary school students performed five forms of misconception based on SOLO taxonomy in solving geometry transformation problems. (1) The forms of misconceptions conducted by students at the structural level are translation misconceptions, systematic misconceptions, and strategy misconceptions. (2) The form of misconception done by students at unistructural level is strategy misconception and systematic misconception. (3) The form of misconception done by students at the multistructural level is the computation misconception and sign misconception. (4) The forms of misconceptions carried out by students at the relational level are systematic misconceptions, computation misconceptions, and sign misconceptions. The causes of students' misconceptions are low student understanding, students hurry in solving problems, students forget the formulas used, students make errors when enter values ​​into formulas and students are not careful in calculating.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Gapura tahun pelajaran 2019/2020 dalam memecahkan masalah statistika ditinjau dari gaya belajar. Indikator-indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis menggunakan indikator menurut Facione, yaitu menginterpretasi, menganalisis, mengevaluasi, dan meyimpulkan. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian eksploratif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari 3 siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Gapura. Masing-masing subjek bergaya belajar visual, auditori, dan kinestetik yang berkemampuan matematika setara serta komunikatif. Sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tes tertulis dan wawancara. Data dicek kekonsistenannya menggunakan triangulasi waktu. Analisis data dalam penelitian terdiri dari reduksi data, penyajian data, verifikasi dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa subjek bergaya belajar visual dan auditori hanya memenuhi indikator interpretasi. Sedangkan subjek bergaya belajar kinestetik memenuhi semua indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis. Abstract: This study aims to describe the critical thinking ability of class VIII SMPN 1 Gapura academic year 2019/2020 in solving statistical problems reviewed from the learning styles. Indicators of critical thinking ability based on the indicator according of Facione, the indicators i.e. interpreting, analyzing, evaluating, and concluding. This is an explorative research with a qualitative approach. The subject of this study consists of 3 students of grade VIII SMPN 1 Gapura. Each of the students has a visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning style and math-capable and communicative. Whereas, the data collection techniques of critical thinking ability in this study used written tests and interviews. The data is checked for its consistency using time triangulation. The data analyses in the research consisted of data reduction, data presentation, verification and conclusion. The results of this study showed that the subjects were visual and auditory-learning only to meet the interpretation indicators. While the subject of a kinesthetic learning style meets all indicators of critical thinking ability.

Abstract

Lopo merupakan salah satu rumah tradisional masyarakat dawan untuk menerima tamu, tempat berdiskusi dan tempat menenun. Konstruksi lopo tanpa dinding dan atap yang tidak sampai ke tanah. Dari penelitian ini elemen-elemen konstruksi lopo dieksplorasi untuk mengetahui konsep himpunan dan perbandingan yang terdapat di dalamnya. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif untuk mendeskripsikan konsep-konsep himpunan dan perbandingan dari model-model lingkaran yang terdapat pada atap bagian luar, model-model lingkaran yang terdapat pada atap bagian dalam dan model segiempat yang terdapat pada atap lopo. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan mereduksi data atau penyederhanaan data hasil observasi dan wawancara dan menghasilkan gambar penampang lopo beserta ukuran-ukurannya, kemudian peneliti mengkaji data yang ada untuk menemukan konsep-konsep matematika yang terdapat dalam konstruksi atap lopo dan akhirnya melakukan penarikan. Dari penelitian ini ditemukan beberapa konsep geometri yang dapat dijadikan media dalam mempelajari himpunan dan perbandingan serta konsep-konsep ini dapat digunakan sebagai media untuk memperkenalkan hubungan matematika dalam budaya.
