Abstract

The aim of this experimental study is to know the effect of cottonseed extracts toward the reproduction of mice (Mus musculus L., Swiss Webster). This experiment used completely randomized design with 4 treatment and 6 replied. Treatment given was cottonseed extract with several dose, namely control (0 gram/mice), 0,03 gram/mice, 0,05 gram/mice and 0,07 gram/mice. This research was conducted on Desember 2013-January 2014 in animal house Zoology Laboratory Majors Biology FMIPA UNP. The parameters are vaginal smear, corpus luteum number, implantation, life fetus, died fetus, abnormal fetus, resorpsion fetus and average of weight fetus. Data is analyzed by ANOVA and DNMRT significant p (0,05). The result shows that cottonseed extract indicated that there are extension proestrous, metestrous, and diestrous. It can conclude that cottonseed extract influenced mice cycle reproduction. The cottonseed extracts indicated there are decreasing corpus luteum number, implantation number, life fetus number and average of fetus weight were compared by control. This research concludes that cottonseed extract (Gossypium hirsutum L.) influenced the performance reproduction of mice (Mus musculus L., Swiss Webster). Key words: gossypol, fetus, cycle and performance reproduction

Abstract

The research on estimation ploidy and genetic relationships between sample collections from Solok Balitbu Tropic has been studied from Mei 2012 until November 2013. This study was done on experimental garden in Solok Balitbu Tropic and Genetic and Sitology Laboratory, Faculty of Math and Natural Science Andalas University. The aims of this study were to reveal the rate of ploidy on some bananas accession by using Stover and Simmonds (1987) scoring system and to relieve the rate of ploidy on some bananas accession based on quantity of chromosomes. The result revealed that the rate ploidy from 20 bananas accession the presence of 8 accessions of banana AA / AAA genome, AAB genome 8 accessions of banana and 4 banana accessions AB genome. Genetic relationship from dendrogram analysis showed that there were four groups bananas accession. Groups I, III, and IV were closely related toM. Abstract

Peptide has a high bioactivity and specificity, possess low interaction to other drugs and has a low toxicity values . However, peptide -based drugs have drawbacks, which are rapidly degraded in the digestive system due to the activity of the protease enzyme that peptide drugs are not suitable to be developed as an oral medication. The purpose of this study to determine whether the value of  peptidoid is higher than the peptide and to analize the influences between interaction and  DG of Peptidoid KGPE is the higher  than its peptide, -16.13874 kkal/mol. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know more about the influence of cigarette?s smoke to the quantity,  mouse?s spermatozoa during one cycle of spermatogenesis. This research used the method of  Post Test Only Control Group Design. The sample is about 24 male mice which criteria 2-3 month old, male, 25-35 gr weight. The result of the research to quantity of spermatozoa by Anova test showed the significant connection (?> 0.05) between control group with behavior, average the spermatozoa motility decrease if compare with control. Preferable if we want to know more about the influence of cigarette to the quality of sperm, we will need a test to the other quality suvh pH, velocity, viscosity and DNA of spermatoza.Key words : quality of spermatozoa, cigarettes, male mouse

Abstract

This research is aimed at investigating the influence of cow?s rumen fluid volume toward varied feces in producing biogas. This research has been done since October to December 2013 at Biotechnology laboratory, Faculty and Mathematic Science. The method of this research was completely randomized design (CRD) with factorial in three times. The first factor as the treatment was the type of feces, such as cow, horse, goat, and buffalo?s feces. The second factor was the treatment by adding the volume of cow?s rumen liquid as many as 160 and 320 ml. The control was the treatment without adding the volume of cow?s rumen liquid. The variables that were measured in this research were the volume of biogas and the duration of biogas flame that could be produced. The result of this research shows that the type of feces affected the biogas production. In these treatments, the highest volume of biogas that was produced to the lowest were horse?s feces yield of 226.56 cm3, cow?s feces yield of 71.40 cm3, buffalo?s feces yield of 28.28 cm3, and goat?s feces yield of 2.13 cm3. The addition of rumen liquid can increase the biogas production on cow, goat, and buffalo?s feces, but it did not significantly give the effect on horse?s feces. The positive interaction between addition of rumen liquid and feces shows on cow, goat, and buffalo?s feces. The rumen liquid, however, was not interacted with horse?s feces for producing biogas.Key words: biogas, rumen fluid, methanogen

Abstract

This research investigated traditional medicine used by primitive tribes in order to cure their diseases. This study was conducted in December 2010 at small town, Taban, VII Koto district. The method used in this research was descriptive survey. The result of this research showed that there were 39 kinds of medical plants derived from 33 families. The plants scientifically could cure 27 kinds of diseases.Key words: traditional medicine, primitive tribes

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of atsiri oils on the growth of mycelium and formation of aservulus Colletotrichum gloeosporioides causes anthracnose disease of papaya fruits in vitro. This study is an experimental study, using a completely randomized design (CRD) 3 x 4 factorial with replicates. The treatments tested were types of essential oils (Citronella, Cinnamon and Clove) and volume (0,3 mL, 9 mL and 18 mL). Data were analyzed with ANOVA and further test used is BNJ at the level of 5 % for the diameter of the colony and DNMRT at the level of 5 % for the amount of aservulus Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. The results showed the essential oil can inhibit the growth of mycelium and formation of aservulus Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. Clove oil in 3 mL volumes can significantly inhibit the growth of mycelium with a diameter of 10.07 cm 13.77 cm whereas control. Mycelium growth were treated with clove oil is slower than the citronella oil (12.67 cm) and cinnamon oil (13.7 cm). Clove oil in 9 mL volume can significantly inhibit the formation of mold aservulus the number 71 aservulus while control aservulus 527.67. Aservulus formation of fungus treated with clove oil is slower than the citronella oil (116 aservulus) and cinnamon oil (263 aservulus).Key words : essential oils, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, antraknosa

Abstract

The purpose of this study were to analyze the morphology, tensile strength, power degradation and the degree of crystallinity of plastic nata de soya. This plastic using oleic acid plasticizer  with various volume 30 , 40 and 50 mL and 30 mL glycerol 3 %. Plastic morphology test using Scanning Electron Microscope ( SEM ). Tensile strength test using a test tensometer and crystallinity using X - ray diffraction instrument ( XRD ). Power degradation is determined by hoards of plastic in the soil for 10 days. The longer plastic soaked for 6 days then getting flat plastic surface morphology, the lower of  value of tensile strength is 7.87 MPa, the lower of power degradation is 23. 72 % and the higher the degree of crystallinity is 39.96 %. Key words: oleic acid, plasticizer , biodegradable  plastic, nata de soya

Abstract

Embryology is part of a study of developmental biology. In embryology widely used terms that will clarify a process, and the state or the name of a body part, such as teratology, is part of a study of embryology and cause birth defects. Fetuses and embryos as another name for the developing fetus. Individual development process involves five kinds of processes, namely the growth, differentiation, cellular interactions, movement and metabolism. The fifth process will always be found in every stage of human development (day after day and week after week). Embryology process closely related to the presence and action of genes in the body. Abstract

A study on the changing of membrane compositions and internal solution towards the response potassium ion sensor was carried out. Potassium ion sensor based on photocured cross linking poly(n-butyl acrylate) membranes with varying composition of valinomycin (val), sodium tetrakis [3.5-bis(trifluoro-methyl) phenyl] borat (NaTFPB), types ion of internal solution were investigated. Effects of varying composition of val, NaTFPB, types and concentration of internal solution were observed on potassium ion sensor. The effect of higher val composition was lower LOD, wider linear range, lower sensitivity but increase selectivity. Higher NaTFPB compositions lead to lower LOD, higher sensitivity and selectivity. The effect of changing internal electrolyte lead to lower LOD, wider linear response range and higher selectivity according to internal electrolyte consisting Na+, Ca2+ and K+, and sensitivity increase following internal electrolyte with Ca2+, K+ and Na+.Key words: ion sensor, ion selective membrane, ionofor, lipofilik salt
