Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of transformational and transactional leadership on organizational commitment, with employee engagement as a mediating variable at PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk, Bima, West Nusa Tenggara. A quantitative approach was employed using the Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 99 employees and analyzed using SmartPLS software. The results indicate that transformational leadership has a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment and employee engagement, while transactional leadership has a positive and significant effect on employee engagement but does not significantly affect organizational commitment. Furthermore, employee engagement has a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment but does not significantly mediate the relationship between transformational and transactional leadership and organizational commitment. These findings suggest that organizational commitment is more strongly influenced by the direct effects of leadership, particularly transformational leadership, rather than through the mediating role of employee engagement. This study contributes to the organizational behavior literature and provides practical implications for organizations in determining effective leadership styles to enhance employee commitment.

Abstract

This study discusses the phenomenon of Sukandebi Village's income dependence on government transfer funds, which has increased significantly following the implementation of Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages. The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of fiscal dependence of the village during the 2023–2025 period and to identify the factors causing the drastic decline in Village Original Income (PADes). The research employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive case study design, using secondary data derived from the Budget Realization Reports (APBDes and LRA) of Sukandebi Village. Data analysis was conducted through descriptive statistics and the calculation of the fiscal dependence ratio. The results show that the village's fiscal dependence increased from 92.91% in 2023 to 98.65% in 2025, accompanied by a decline in PADes from IDR 71 million (2023) to IDR 13 million (2025). These findings indicate the dominance of transfer funds, which has triggered a flypaper effect, as well as weak asset management and the absence of a Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes). The implications of this study emphasize the need for income diversification strategies, optimization of local potential, and capacity building for village officials to achieve sustainable fiscal independence.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the structural relationship between Total Quality Management (TQM) and corporate sustainability performance, with green innovation capabilities as a mediating variable, in the manufacturing industry of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Surabaya. This study emphasizes the importance of TQM implementation and green innovation capabilities in driving organizational sustainability practices. The research method uses Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). TQM is measured across four dimensions: product control management, process control management, vendor quality management, and customer relationship improvement. Corporate sustainability performance is measured through three dimensions, namely environmental, economic, and social sustainability, while green innovation capabilities are measured through green product innovation and green process innovation. The results show that TQM practices directly influence corporate sustainability performance across all dimensions and act as an antecedent of green innovation capabilities. Furthermore, green innovation capabilities are shown to mediate the relationship between TQM practices and corporate sustainability performance at both the construct and dimension levels. These findings indicate that TQM can be a holistic approach in improving the sustainability of small and medium industrial companies and building an innovative culture that encourages the creation of a circular social economy.

Abstract

Productive zakat is an important instrument in empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), especially for those entitled to receive aid (mustahik) who face limitations in capital, business facilities, and managerial capacity. However, at the local level, the implementation of the productive zakat program still faces various institutional and operational challenges. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of productive zakat implementation in empowering MSMEs entitled to receive aid through a case study of BAZNAS Palangka Raya City. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with BAZNAS managers and beneficiary mustahik, supported by field observations and document analysis. The results show that the implementation of productive zakat in Palangka Raya City is mostly realized through the provision of productive assets, such as business carts, Z-Mart facilities, and MSME tents, which contribute to increasing productive activities and initial income of mustahik. However, program implementation still faces obstacles such as limited human resources, uneven mentoring, and weak post-assistance monitoring, which impacts the sustainability of MSME development. These findings indicate that the implementation of productive zakat still tends to be asset-based and has not been fully integrated with sustainable mentoring and capacity-building mechanisms. Therefore, strengthening institutional capacity and implementing a more comprehensive empowerment approach are crucial to increasing the effectiveness and sustainability of productive zakat programs at the local level

Abstract

As public awareness of healthy consumption patterns in Indonesia increases, consumer preferences for health-based products are increasing, which in turn influencesPurchase intention through evaluation of product perceived value, based on this phenomenon, this study aims to analyze the influence of Healthy Lifestyle on Purchase Intention of Fruve Juicery healthy drink products with Perceived Value as a mediating variable. This study uses a quantitative approach with a causal associative design through a survey method. Data were collected from 100 respondents who were selected purposively in Mataram City, aged at least 16 years and have knowledge about Fruve Juicery products. The research instrument used a questionnaire measured with a Likert scale. Data analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) through SmartPLS 4.0 software to test the validity, reliability, and research hypotheses. The results showed that a healthy lifestyle has a positive and significant effect on purchase intention, both directly and through perceived value as a mediating variable. In addition, perceived value has been shown to play an important role in increasing consumer purchase intention for MSME healthy drink products. These findings indicate that consumer perceived value is a key mechanism in linking a healthy lifestyle to purchasing decisions. Therefore, healthy beverage MSMEs need to improve consumer value perception by improving product quality and optimizing digital marketing strategies to strengthen consumer purchasing intentions.

Abstract

Objective: This study examines how product innovation and branding strategy influence the competitiveness of local food MSMEs in Kupang City, with e-commerce adoption positioned as a mediating variable. Design/Methods/Approach: A quantitative approach was employed using SEM-PLS based on survey data from 258 local food MSMEs in Kupang City collected through purposive sampling. Findings: Product innovation and branding strategy have positive and significant direct effects on MSME competitiveness. Branding strategy has a strong and significant effect on e-commerce adoption, while product innovation does not. E-commerce adoption does not significantly affect competitiveness and does not mediate the relationships between innovation/branding and competitiveness. Originality/Value: This study integrates product innovation, branding strategy, and e-commerce adoption in a single empirical model for local food MSMEs, providing evidence from an underexplored regional context (Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara). Practical/Policy implication: MSME development programs should prioritize innovation and branding assistance, while digital interventions should focus on improving digital readiness (skills, logistics, and infrastructure) so e-commerce can contribute effectively.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of soft skills, hard skills, and self-efficacy on entrepreneurial interest with entrepreneurship education as a mediating variable in Management students of the 2022 FEB UNRAM class, amidst the low level of entrepreneurship in Indonesia (BPS, 2024). The aim is to test the causal relationship through an explanatory quantitative approach with SEM-PLS. The population was 58 students, using saturated sampling. The Likert scale questionnaire instrument was validated through loading factor >0.70, Cronbach's Alpha >0.70, and analyzed via SmartPLS with bootstrapping. The results show that hard skills and self-efficacy have a significant direct positive effect on entrepreneurial interest (coefficients 0.453 and 0.3, p<0.05), while soft skills do not (p=0.079); all three influence entrepreneurship education, which mediates the indirect relationship (p<0.01). In conclusion, entrepreneurship education strengthens skills and self-confidence to increase entrepreneurial interest, suggesting integration of practical curriculum.
