Abstract

The learning process in university level is quite different from the former education levels so that the students need to be adapted to. The students, in fact, were still unaccustomed to the learning style, unserious and frequently absent from the class, did not do assignment as they were required, and did not submit the tasks on the time they were due. This research was intended to describe the students’ learning style and learning skill and its implication in Guidance and Counseling service. This research could be classified into descriptive study. The population of the research was 1021 students in the Faculty of Education of UNP. By using purposive random sampling technique and Taro Yamane formula, 287 students were taken as the sample. The instrument of the research was the scale of Likert model. The data obtained were analyzed by using percentage technique. The correlation between learning style and learning outcomes was tested by using Chi Square, and correlation between learning skill and learning outcomes was tested by using Spearman Rank Correlation.  The results of the research revealed that: (1) the learning style dominantly applied by the students of the Faculty of Education of UNP was visual learning style which was used by 49.13% students, (2) the learning skill of the students of the Faculty of Education of UNP was in average category (68.18%), (3) there was a significant correlation between learning style and learning outcomes, and (4) there was a significant correlation between learning skill and learning outcomes. The implication of these research findings toward Guidance and Counseling Service was it was necessary to cooperate with other related parties to optimize the students’ learning style, learning skill and  learning outcomes.

Abstract

Proses pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi berbeda dengan jenjang pendidikan sebelumnya sehingga mahasiswa baru perlu melakukan penyesuaian. Kenyataannya ditemukan mahasiswa yang tidak serius dalam proses perkuliahan, seperti datang terlambat, dan tidak membuat tugas sesuai petunjuk. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa BK FIP UNP angkatan 2011 yang terdaftar semester Januari-Juni 2013, berjumlah 196 orang. Jumlah sampel 132 orang dengan teknik Proportional Random Sampling. Instrumen digunakan adalah angket, diolah dengan teknik analisis persentase. Kata Kunci: proses pembelajaran, mahasiswa.

Abstract

Pernikahan menjadi salah satu impian yang ingin diwujudkan oleh individu dalam kehidupannya. Pernikahan dapat berlangsung jika telah terpenuhinya ketentuan atau persyaratan dalam mengajukan permohonan pernikahan. Salah satu persyaratan tersebut adalah sudah tercukupinya batasan umur, yaitu minimal berusia 19 tahun. Namun di masyarakat, masih adanya pernikahan anak di bawah umur. Banyak faktor yang menjadi alasan berlangsungnya pernikahan itu. Salah satunya adalah tuntutan dari orangtua untuk segera menikah dikarenakan lingkungan sekitarnya juga melakukan hal demikian. Sehingga jika tidak melakukan hal seperti itu, maka akan menjadi perbincangan di lingkungannya tersebut. Artikel ini membahas tentang pelayanan konseling yang dapat digunakan dalam mencegah pernikahan usia dini dengan menggunakan metode studi kepustakaan.

Abstract

This article discusses the challenges of students in continuing their education to higher education, especially students from vocational or vocational high schools. Vocational (vocational) high school students can continue their education to higher education in addition to having great opportunities to enter the world of work. Students who wish to continue their education to tertiary institutions do not show the required preparation. Likewise, students who will choose to work after completing Vocational High School are less mature in entering the world of work. This study aims to analyze the preparation of students in continuing their education to higher education. This type of research is descriptive research. The research subjects were students of vocational high schools, amounting to 89 people. The questionnaire in this research uses the theory developed by Prayitno. The results showed that at least the number of students who made preparations before they entered college. Thus, it is hoped that the counselor can help improve students' understanding of themselves and their environment, in preparation for entering college.

Abstract

As a part of physiological needs, human physical appearance is considered an essential part of people's lives. That integral part determines the formation of body image in the community. Body image is a mental picture of the body state. The development of student body image is not well-formed, so that it affects their life. In the lecture process, students tend to be inactive and have low self-esteem, which impact student life. Some factors that affect the body image are gender, cultural background, and the admission way. This study aims to describe the body image in terms of gender, cultural background, student's admission way, and the group's interaction. This study used a descriptive comparative method with 600 samples—the data collection using Yuca Puji Body-Image Inventory (YPBI) and ANOVA as an analyzing tool. The result shows significant differences in body image in terms of gender, cultural background, and admission. The results of this research can prove that student can develop body image in a positive direction. This result of the study will be used as a basic concept to determine a body image module.

Abstract

Life is something that every individual should be grateful for. In life we will face various problems and problems. With problems and problems in the end will make us understand the Meaning Of Life. One of the problems faced for individuals is late marriage. The existence of negative assumptions in women who are late in marriage is something that is feared by these women. This fear ultimately has an effect on the formation of Meaning of Life in the woman. Not a few women who are late in marriage form a low and negative Meaning of Life in themselves. The importance of a positive and good Meaning of Life in oneself will certainly make oneself more productive and enthusiastic in one's daily life. Counseling is one solution in the formation of a good and positive Meaning of Life in women who are late in marriage. The approach that can be used by counselors is with a reality counseling approach. In the reality counseling approach, invite clients to be able to accept positively and responsibly the life they live. Counseling is one solution in the formation of a good and positive Meaning of Life in women who are late in marriage. The approach that can be used by counselors is with a reality counseling approach. In the reality counseling approach, invite clients to be able to accept positively and responsibly the life they live. This study uses case studies to illustrate how the Meaning of Life faced by the client and how reality counseling can direct the Meaning of Life of the client to be more positive than before. And it can be concluded that reality counseling can change the Meaning of Life of a woman who is late to marry to be more positive and she respects herself more.

Abstract

A family is a social unit that exists in every culture. Ideally, every family has well enough psychological resilience to achieve prosperity. However, to achieve good psychological resilience, sometimes problems can arise in the family, which is also experienced by Muslim university staff in Indonesia. Three important factors are predicted to correlate with family psychological resilience: family support, economic resilience, and commitment. This study aims to reveal the factors that correlate with the family psychological resilience of Muslim university staff in Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative approach with correlational methods. This research involved 324 Muslim university staff in Indonesia as respondents. The research instruments used were the Family Support Scale, the Family Economic Resilience Scale, the Family Commitment Scale, and the Family Psychological Resilience Scale. Furthermore, the research data analysis used partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) analysis. The results of this study indicate that family support, family economic resilience, and family commitment have a positive correlation and a significant connection with family psychological resilience. These three factors need to be considered in improving the family psychological resilience of Muslim university staff in Indonesia.

Abstract

Self-confidence is the ability of individuals to face new problems or challenges by optimizing their development, so the lack of self-confidence experienced by individuals cannot be considered a common issue. Confidence issues can impact an individual's success in achieving future goals. This article presents the results of the author's literature review on studies of self-confidence that can be enhanced through the application of Qur'anic counseling. The author examines approximately six studies on self-confidence and Qur'anic counseling. Counseling from the perspective of the Qur'an is highly relevant to serve as a pillar of life and a fundamental basis for Muslims in seeking answers to various evolving issues. The conclusion of this article reveals that individuals who understand the meaning of the Qur'an will have self-confidence because they make the Qur'an a philosophy of life.

Abstract

Stunting menjadi masalah serius yang dapat berdampak jangka panjang pada kualitas hidup anak dan masa depannya. Untuk mengatasi stunting, perlu dilakukan penanganan holistik, pemenuhan gizi, pelayanan kesehatan, dan pemanfaatan pangan lokal seperti mengkonsumsi madu galo-galo. Madu galo-galo terbukti mengandung zat yang bermanfaat bagi kesehatan manusia, termasuk mineral, polifenol, vitamin, asam amino, karotenoid, enzim, asam organik, dan senyawa volatil. Madu galo-galo mengandung banyak nutrisi yang baik untuk tubuh dan dapat membantu mengurangi resiko stunting ketika dikonsumsi secara bersamaan dengan pola makan yang seimbang dan asupan gizi yang cukup. Karena mengandung sumber tambahan nutrisi, madu galo-galo dapat dikonsumsi untuk membantu anak yang mengalami stunting di Nagari Taram Kecamatan Harau. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman ibu mengenai stunting dan upaya pencegahannya di Nagari Taram Kecamatan Harau. Metode kegiatan yang digunakan berupa penyuluhan, ceramah dan tanya jawab mengenai pencegahan stunting kepada peserta posyandu. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 7 Februari 2024. Upaya ini dilakukan dengan harapan dapat memberikan kontribusi positif berupa penurunan angka stunting di Nagari Taram Kecamatan Harau, dan perbaikan kualitas sumber daya manusia di masa mendatang.

Abstract

In the evolving landscape of Society 5.0, the imperative for students to think critically has become paramount. The acquisition of high order thinking skills (HOTS) plays a pivotal role in nurturing students to become independent, creative thinkers. These skills, encompassing analysis, evaluation, and the generation of innovative ideas, are essential for adapting to the dynamic demands of the modern era. However, the transition to HOTS-based learning poses challenges for students accustomed to conventional teaching methods. This study, conducted among 265 selected students from SMP Negeri 30 Padang using a stratified random sampling technique, employed a questionnaire for data collection. Descriptive statistical analysis revealed that 77% of students exhibited HOTS in performing tasks, 77% in answering exams, and 76% in actively engaging with the learning process. Moreover, gender disparities were observed in HOTS-based learning, with 74% of male students demonstrating proficiency compared to 79% of female students. The findings underscore the necessity for educational institutions to address the readiness of students for HOTS-based learning methodologies. Recognizing the gender-based variations in HOTS proficiency, schools are urged to implement targeted strategies to enhance students' critical thinking skills, ensuring optimal outcomes in the learning process. This research contributes valuable insights into the ongoing efforts required to cultivate HOTS-based learning environments in secondary education.
