Abstract

Ecological literacy is an important part of forming an environmentally conscious generation. One way to foster ecological literacy is to include ecological components in student books in schools. This research analyzes the texts in Indonesian textbooks from the perspective of Critical Discourse Analysis. The Critical Discourse Analysis used in this research is Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis. There are three dimensions of critical discourse analysis study, namely text analysis, text production analysis, and social practice analysis. Data collection was carried out using the read and labelling technique. The results showed that text analysis has represented ecology and ecological awareness, while text production analysis and social practice analysis are still limited to ecological elements, not yet referring to the current situation in the field.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze critical ecolinguistics in the Pandawara Group trash cleaning video from the perspective of Teun A. Van Dijk. This research was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods with content analysis methods. The data source used is the speech of Pandawara Group members in videos on the Pandawara Group Instagram. The data collection techniques used are listening techniques and note-taking techniques. Then, the data analysis technique used consists of five stages, namely watching videos on the Pandawara Group Instagram, listening to videos, identifying (determining data), classifying data (grouping), describing (depiction of data accompanied by appropriate references). The results of this research are three data in text dimensions including, (1) Macro Structure (Thematic), (2) Superstructure (Schematic) and (3) Micro Structure (Semantic). The three data are: (1) “Believe it or not, there are still many people in the community who throw rubbish carelessly, especially into rivers”, (2) “Hey people, don’t throw rubbish carelessly, hey! Trashbarriers are broken” and (3) “Many people use this river as a place to throw away their own waste or household rubbish.”

Abstract

This study discusses the importance of ecological literacy in increasing students' awareness of the environment through learning Indonesian. This study aims to combine ecological literacy in Indonesian language materials in junior high schools and senior high schools in the 2013 Curriculum and the Independent Curriculum, and to assess the effectiveness of the learning methods used by teachers. The study used a qualitative approach through analysis of curriculum content, learning materials, and interviews with Indonesian language teachers. The analysis also includes a study of literary works that raise environmental themes. The results show that the 2013 Curriculum emphasizes more on introducing the environment through narrative and informative texts, while the Independent Curriculum focuses more on direct student involvement through observation and real action activities. Both are effective in increasing students' environmental awareness, although with different approaches. In conclusion, the 2013 Curriculum focuses on theoretical understanding, while the Independent Curriculum encourages real action for environmental conservation.

Abstract

This research examines literary ecocriticism in the novel Menanam is Melawan by Widodo through the perspective of Lawrance Buell's theory. This research aims to identify and analyze four aspects of literary ecocriticism from Lawrance Buell's perspective in the novel Menanam is Against. The method used is descriptive narrative with a qualitative approach to literary ecocriticism. The data collection technique uses note-reading techniques. Next, data analysis was carried out by organizing, reducing, presenting and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that the four aspects of literary ecocriticism from Lawrance Buell's perspective are fulfilled. Historical non-human elements are reflected in the phenomenon of destruction of Kulon Progo land elements and phenomena of environmental destruction such as the burning of houses and patrol posts in coastal villages. The legitimacy of the interests of non-human elements towards humans is reflected in the fact that plants provide success with the abundant harvests of the Kulon Progo community and sand provides a connection between the community and the environment. Human responsibility for nature is reflected in the Kulon Progo community making various efforts such as physical responsibility, intellectual responsibility, and spiritual responsibility. The dynamics of nature are reflected in the occurrence of negative dynamics, namely the conversion of coastal land into iron sand mining areas and positive dynamics, namely land conversion. The shaky and barren land became fertile agricultural land.

Abstract

Ecopedagogy learning is important to implement in an effort to preserve the environment and shape students' Green behaviour. This study aims to describe the teacher's efforts in internalising Green behaviour in students through learning. This research uses descriptive qualitative research with observation and interview data collection techniques. This research was conducted in elementary schools in Tlanakan sub-district that have integrated learning with environmental awareness. The results of this study are that there are three Green behaviours, namely caring for the earth, caring for the surrounding environment and being wise in waste management. The teacher's strategy in shaping the behaviour of caring for the earth by making slogans, habituation of bringing bottles and providing examples. Caring for the environment by planting local plants, greening and processing organic waste as fertiliser. Wise in waste management by joining the P5 project by making creations from used goods, ecoprint batik and saving waste in plastic bottles. The internalisation of Green behaviour provides many benefits to students' behaviour in protecting the environment. And the strategies carried out by teachers provide direct experience and learning.

Abstract

The goal of early childhood education (PAUD) is to provide the best possible education and stimulation for children from birth to age six. Language development is one area that needs improvement. This study looks into how Wordwall games might help PKK Jalmak Kindergarten's young students' language development. Qualitative descriptive method was used in this study and involved 19 children from group A of TK PKK Jalmak, aged between 4 and 5 years old, consisting of 8 girls and 11 boys. Observation, interview, and documentation were the methods used to collect data. The results showed that the Wordwall game requires various steps, such as planning and preparation, implementation, and evaluation. All of these steps are characterized by improvements in letter recognition, repeating new vocabulary, the ability to understand two simple instructions, and the ability to identify words according to pictures.

Abstract

This research aims to develop ecology-themed explanatory text teaching materials to support the achievement of the Pancasila Student Profile for vocational high schools (SMK). The teaching materials are designed to raise environmental awareness and foster sensitivity towards ecological issues. The development process follows the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), focusing on the first three phases. Data collection techniques include questionnaires for students through purposive sampling and interviews with Indonesian language teachers. The results show that the teaching materials have a significant potential to be used in vocational education, integrating essential ecological knowledge with practical skills. This research underlines the importance of incorporating sustainable education in vocational curricula, ensuring students are equipped to face both the workforce and further education with an awareness of environmental challenges.

Abstract

This research aims to explore environmental problems that are currently increasingly urgent to be resolved. Ecological education is a main means of building environmental awareness, especially among teenagers. The book Jagapati Bumi by Anna Farida offers an innovative approach to communicating environmental knowledge through myths and local wisdom. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach to analyze the representation of nature in the story Jagapati Bumi as a literary environmental study. The results of the analysis show that the myths in this book not only function as entertainment, but also as educational media that instill the values ​​of environmental conservation. Through a narrative that describes the harmonious relationship between humans and nature, this book invites readers to respect and preserve the environment. In this way, Jagapati Bumi plays an important role in forming the character of teenagers who care about environmental sustainability, as well as developing deep ecological awareness. This research confirms that literature based on local wisdom can be an effective tool for educating and encouraging pro-environmental actions among teenagers.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of character, motivation, and learning environment on the creative thinking ability of eighth-grade students in Indonesian Language lessons at SMP Negeri 1 Jabung and SMP Negeri 1 Pakis, Malang Regency. Based on Bronfenbrenner's ecological theory (1979), which emphasizes the role of the learning environment, this research uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design, involving 231 students selected as samples using the Raosoft method. Data were collected through questionnaires and creative thinking tests, which were tested for validity and reliability. The analysis results indicate that students' character significantly influences creative thinking ability (t-statistic = 4.133, coefficient = 0.242), where positive character traits such as discipline and responsibility support creativity. Learning motivation also has a significant effect (t-statistic = 5.973, coefficient = 0.368), with intrinsic motivation playing a dominant role in enhancing creativity. Additionally, a conducive learning environment (t-statistic = 3.502, coefficient = 0.199) also supports the development of students' creativity. These findings emphasize the importance of developing character, motivation, and the learning environment to create conditions that foster student creativity, contributing to better educational policies.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the meaning of Madurese proverbs that contain ecological values. The research method used is qualitative with a hermeneutic approach. The source of data on proverbs was obtained from a documented study of Oemar Sastrodiwirdjo’s collection of proverbs and saloka. Data analysis was conducted using in-depth knowledge in accordance with the hermeneutic circle. This analysis was carried out hermeneutically with an interactive dialectical model. The research findings show that ecological values in Madurese proverbs include four forms of value: relational values in proverbs that relate to nature, spiritual values in proverbs that relate to the attributes of God, aesthetic values in proverbs that relate to the physical qualities of women, and educational ecological values in proverbs about nature as a source of learning to develop character
