Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the financial performance and potential bankruptcy of shipping transportation companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2013-2017. the method to estimate financial performance and bankruptcy prediction is by using  financial ratio & Altman Z-Score method. The results show that the majority of companies indicating there is a signs of improving financial performance when commodity prices begin to recover. In addition to the analysis of the Altman Z-score bankruptcy Based on the Z-score value of the 14 sample companies, in 2013 there were 5 companies in the healthy category (z-score> 2.60), however in 2016 this number decreased to 3 companies . Whereas for companies that are in the grey area category (z-score 1.1-2.60) in 2013 there were 4 companies and then declined to the remaining 3 companies in 2016. Whereas in 2013 company is in the category of financial distress (z-score <1 , 1) there are 5 companies and increased to 8 companies in 2016. In 2017 there was an increase in the companies in the healthy category & grey area each into 4 companies. While companies in the financial distress category are reduced to 6 companies. This means there are improvements in 2017.

Abstract

This study aims to market private universities in Indonesia and help students in facilitating the search for university information even become the number one educational information resource in Indonesia, where the analysis used is Matrix Strategic Position and Action Evaluation (SPACE). The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The study was conducted by observation on the environmental conditions of the gocampus.com industry in general and specifically based on existing facts. Analysis method used in this research is entrepreneurial marketing analysis which include strategy: Guerilla marketing, ambush marketing, and word of mouth marketing strategy The result from SPACE matrix quadrant indicates that GoCampus position is in aggressive quadrant with score on horizontal axis of 3 and score on the vertical axis of 2.2. Strategies that GoCampus can run for expansion (growth) from the perspective of entrepreneurial marketing strategy can be applied with several types: Guerrilla marketing, word of mouth marketing, and Ambush marketing. Gocampus can implement an expansion strategy and improve on the strength of human resources (for example by increasing the expertise of human resources, making efficiency in human resources), and increasing Gocampus technology accessibility (eg accessible on smartphones, plug and play available on google play, and sponsorship of google play applications that have a large market share), so that the company's performance can improve, and Gocampus expands its business to increase market share (eg penetrate the international university market).

Abstract

Since the end of 2014, BCA has started to use Scrum framework in order to switch from waterfall methodology that already considered as traditional IT project methodology. Regarding that condition, this research aims to find out the effectiveness of Scrum framework on IT project management at PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA). This research use a model to describe correlation between five Scrum Critical Success Factors ,that assumed as measurement of Scrum effectiveness, and four factors perceived as success of IT project management. With this model, the research has twelve independent variables and four dependent variables to be analyzed. This research use quantitative method and multiple regression analysis as a method for conducting analysis. The study found that three from five Scrum Critical Success Factors that have significant influence to four factors perceived as success of IT project management. From those three Scrum Critical Success Factors, there are five independent variables that have significant influence, such as management commitment, project management process, project definition process, project type and project schedule. The use of Scrum framework is quite effective on IT project management at PT Bank Central Asia Tbk.

Abstract

The aim of the paper is to study of value created by foreign shareholders in Indonesia banking over the period 2011-2016. We analysed the value creation by foreign shareholders by comparing the key financial performance. We analysed 7 micro key financial ratios (profitability, efficiency, growth, firm size, liquidity, solvency and asset quality). We used parametric panel data dummy regression. The empirical results show that banking owned by foreign shareholders gave value to profit margin and growth of revenue and asset. The research also found that foreign shareholders were better in managing liquidity ratio such as loan to deposit.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect of packaging toward purchase intention with quality of the product as a mediation variable for Micro, Small, and Medium Scale Business “Legit” Product. This research used descriptive quantitative methods. The method of data collection were primary and secondary data. The population of this research is the entire Indonesia population of 2016 (257.912.349 peoples). This study used non-probability sampling technique by taking purposive sampling. This study used simple linear regression and multiple linear regression with instrument test, a classic assumption (normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity), model test (adjusted R2, T test and F test), Causal Steps and Bobel Test to checked the validity of the hypothesis. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the packaging has a significant effect on the purchase intention of the Legit’s product, the packaging has a significant effect towards the quality of the Legit’s product and the packaging has a significant effect towards the purchase intention of the Legit’s product with the quality of the product as a mediated variable.

Abstract

Innovation is one of the strategic prerequisites for companies if they want to have an advantage in competition. But to realize this is not easy, because it must also be supported by the flexibility of human resource management and employee behavior that must also be innovative. Based on this background, the purpose of this study was to analyze the direct influence of Flexible HRM, and Innovative Work Behavior on Firm Innovativeness; and the indirect effect of Flexible HRM on Firm Innovativeness through Innovative Work Behavior. This research approach is quantitative, with a type of causal research. The population is all PT XYZ permanent employees in Jakarta, totaling more than 700 employees, and a sample of 100 employees. The sampling technique is incidental sampling. Techniques for collecting data through face-to-face surveys, using questionnaires on a 1-5 Likert scale. Data analysis methods are descriptive analysis, multiple linear regression, and path analysis. The results showed that Flexible HRM and Innovative Work Behavior had a positive and significant effect on Firm Innovativeness. In addition, Innovative Work Behavior proved to play a role in mediating the influence of Flexible HRM on Firm Innovativeness.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the strategies that have been pursued by PT. XYZ for long term strategy improvement and see opportunities that can be used to develop in the SAAS (software as a service) industry. Analytical method used to support research with three phases, ie Input Level, Match Stage, and Decision Stage. These three stages can help identify, evaluate and select strategies in PT XYZ. In this study compare products from PT. XYZ is Sales1CRM with competitors in the SAAS industry that provides CRM services. Competitors selected by authors include: HashMicro CRM, EspoCRM, and Barantum CRM as one of SAAS-based CRM service providers in Indonesia. Based on the results of the research which has been done by using three phases, that is, in the first phase of PT XYZ able to exploit existing opportunities and minimize its external threat, PT XYZ has more strength than its weakness factor, but PT. XYZ is still under HashMicro because the number of services provided is limited. While in the second stage, the SWOT matrix provides a SO strategy recommendation and in the SPACE matrix provides recommendations for aggressive strategy to continue to expand its market share, and the Internal-External Matrix recommends growth and build strategy. In the third stage, QSPM provides three alternative recommendations, namely, product development strategy in order to continue to grow following technology development and second alternative is market penetration strategy and horizontal integration.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of physical quality, staff behavior, brand identification and lifestyle on the satisfaction of Sushi tei restaurant consumers in Jakarta. This research was conducted by spreading questionnaires to 150 respondents who are all Sushi tei consumers in Jakarta. The result data of the next questionnaire is processed by using regression analysis technique which its processing will be done with the help of SPSS program. The result of analysis shows that physical quality variable, staff behavior, brand identification and lifestyle either partially or simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on the satisfaction of Sushi tei consumer in restaurant Jakarta. Furthermore, the result of analysis shows that physical quality, staff behavior, brand identification and lifestyle simultaneously affect the satisfaction of Sushi tei consumer in South Jakarta with contribution of 73,7%.

Abstract

This paper discussed the influence of foreign bank penetration on a particular scope of banking industry competition in Indonesia. The data used is from financial report and balance sheet from periode of 2002-2011 quarterly. The number of samples are 44 banks listed in Bank Indonesia. This research aims to examine whether the increasing number of foreign bank penetration affects the competition structure of banking industry in Indonesia, and examine whether the entry mode used by the foreign bank affects the competition structure of banking industry in Indonesia. The statistics used to analyze are non-linear least square to estimate non-linear model and ordinary least square to estimate the empiric model. Panzar Rosse statistic is used to estimate the dependent variable on the linear model. Panel data on non-linear model were used to identify foreign bank and estimate the competition level. Time-series data on the empiric model were used to measure banking industry competition that was affected by foreign bank penetration. This paper found that higher foreign penetration make the degree of banking competition tend to be more monopolistic. In addition, the researcher also found that the entry mode of penetration also affected the competition level. Penetration by merger and acquisition paths was proven to be more significant in affecting the competition in Indonesia compared to 'de novo' penetration.
