Abstract

Actinomycetes are microorganisms of a group of gram-positive bacteria that produce uniseluser mycelium.  Colonies of Actinomycetes grow slowly, are attached to the substrate and can produce spores. Actinomycetes are known to be able to control plant pathogens. This study aims to screen and study the inhibitory power of Actinomycetes from the rhizosphere of Arabica coffee rhizosphere against Collecotrichum coffeanum. This study found Actinomycetes in the rhizosphere of Arabika coffee plants from Bener Meriah. There were 80 Actinomycetes isolates. Eight of the 21 isolates selected isolate were against Collecotrichum coffeanum with different inhibitory ratios from each isolate. There were 1PRG/RR/10-3/2-1, 2PRG/WP/10-4/1-1-1, 2PRG/AG/10-4/3-1-1, 1M/SR/10-3/2-1, 2M/SR/10-3/2-1, 1M/JAJ/10-3/2-1, 1B//KR/10-3/2, 2B/KR/10-4/1.

Abstract

The demand for soybeans in Indonesia is increasing, this is also accompanied by the development of the food industry made from soybeans. The low soybean production in Indonesia can be influenced by many factors, one of which is agro-climatology which is difficult to control, moreover, this soybean plant is a plant that is sensitive to climate change. Efforts to increase soybean production require innovation breakthroughs by assembling superior varieties to increase productivity in the rainy season. The purpose of this study was to determine the inheritance of traits from female parents or male parents to the offspring resulting from their crosses. This research was conducted in the Techno Park area of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Majalengka which is located in Babakan Jawa, Kec. Majalengka, Kab. Majalengka which will be held from February to July 2023. The four soybean varieties used, namely Gepak Kuning, Deja 2, Mutiara 3, and Detam 4, were planted in polybags. Parameters observed were agronomic and morphological characters in crosses of soybean varieties and 4 parents. The results of this study indicate that there is low to high genetic variation. The characteristics of crosses between black soybeans and yellow soybeans are controlled by additive gene action resulting in the same genetic traits as the female parent. The maternal effect is found in the color of seeds, coat color, and coat type.

Abstract

Probiotic bacteria are often used as liquid organic fertilizer supplements. Probiotic bacteria can degrade organic compounds. This research aims to determine the benefits of probiotic bacteria isolated from the digestive tract of free-range chickens in making liquid organic fertilizer and analyzing the nutrients contained in liquid organic fertilizer. Making liquid organic fertilizer by treating types of bacteria from the chicken's digestive tract includes: Bacterial Isolate from Cache 2, Bacterial Isolate from Intestine 3, Bacterial Isolate from Provent 2, Bacterial Isolate from Provent 3, and Bacteria from Provent 4. 500 of each are made. ml and repeated three times. Incubate for three weeks and observe the changes that occur. Observation parameters include changes in color, aroma, and bubbles. Meanwhile, the nutrient analysis of liquid organic fertilizer includes total N, available P, available K, organic C, C/N ratio, and pH. The results of the research show that isolates of probiotic bacteria from the digestive tract of free-range chickens can be used as organic material-degrading microbes in the process of making liquid organic fertilizer. Results of analysis of N, P, K, C-organic, and pH nutrient levels in liquid organic fertilizer treated with probiotic bacterial isolates from the digestive tract of free-range chickens, namely, nitrogen levels in treated bacterial isolates from provent 2 were 0.24%, phosphorus in the treatment of prebiotic bacterial isolates from provent 3, namely 3.80 ppm, Potassium in the treatment of prebiotic bacterial isolates from provent 3, namely 9.99 ppm, C-Organic in the treatment of prebiotic bacterial isolates from the intestine was 4.81% and pH in the treatment of bacterial isolates prebiotics from provent 2 was 3.56.

Abstract

Waxy corn (Zea mays L. var. ceratina) is a food commodity that has a high amylopectin content of 72% and 28% amylose. Waxy cron still has weaknesses, namely low productivity reaching 2-2.5 tons/hectare, to overcome this problem research is needed to obtain the genotype of corn plants with high productivity. The purpose of this study was to obtain homogeneous genotype traits by selection of cobs to rows. The method used in this study is qualitative and quantitative descriptive with surveys in the field. The results of this study obtained the T-5 genotype which passed the selection for qualitative parameters, but quantitative parameters were still found to be diverse at the time of anthesis and the number of cobs. It is necessary to continue the selection for T-5, focusing on selection based on anthesis time, number of cobs, the average weight of whole cobs, and average total seed weight of 1 cob to obtain a homogeneous T-5 based on curative and quantitative parameters. Cob to Line Selection research based on qualitative and quantitative parameters has a high chance of immediately obtaining homogeneous genotypes are T-1, T-2, T-3, T-4, T-7, T-8, and T-10, while the opposite is T-6 and T-9
