Abstract

The present study was conducted to investigate the relationship between visual intelligence and shooting accuracy of youth futsal players when receiving a pass. The hypothesis for this research was that there is a correlation of the players' visual intelligence and their ability to shoot accurately after receiving the ball that is statistically significant. The relationship was studied because of the importance of visual perception, spatial awareness, and the quick interpretation of game situations in the evaluation of the technical performance of futsal. The researcher used the descriptive approach with correlational method because it was deemed suitable for the goal of the study to determine the nature and strength of the relationship between the variables studied. The research population included 30 youth players of Al-Minaa Club in Basra Governorate of which 20 players were selected using purposive sampling. The study procedures were application of a visual intelligence measure, a special futsal shooting accuracy test after receiving a pass, implementation of the main experiment and the use of appropriate statistics to analyze the data and determine the relationship between the variables. The results revealed that a statistically significant positive correlation existed between the youth futsal players' visual intelligence and shooting accuracy after receiving a pass. This discovery indicates that players with a higher level of visual intelligence can more easily process relevant visual information, understand the player position and movements, find shooting opportunities and react more efficiently and correctly during an attack. The researcher found that visual intelligence is an important cognitive component that is related to the ability of a youth futsal player to successfully shoot. It might also have implications for football and other sports where speed of visual perception, spatial analysis, anticipation and decision making are crucial. Thus, the study suggested that greater attention should be paid to development of visual intelligence within trainings, since this variable is directly related with shooting accuracy after a pass and can play an important role in developing overall technical level of young players.

Abstract

This scholar emphasises the necessity of employing optimal contemporary models and methodologies tailored to individual learners or trainees to attain, refine, and solidify proficiency in diverse athletic skills, notably the cognitive training strategy, which encompasses planning, reflection, and problem-solving in educational or training contexts; it is a developmental, reflective, and non-evaluative approach that has arisen from a synthesis of psychological, educational, cognitive, and social frameworks, alongside its incorporation with visual training aimed at enhancing the connection between the eyes and the brain through the advancement of visual skills and capabilities. The research issue was recognised as a deficiency in technical performance stemming from inadequate regulation of visual capabilities (visual attention, visual reaction speed, and dynamic visual correctness), due to their direct influence on technical performance in futsal. An experimental methodology was employed, and the research cohort was identified as the athletes of the Faculty of Physical Education team at Misan University for the 2025–2026 academic year, comprising 16 players. The research sample included 12 participants, who were allocated into two categories (experimental and control) using basic randomisation (drawing lots), with six individuals in each category. For the preliminary investigation, four participants were chosen from the identical research cohort. The investigators employed futsal-specific visual ability assessments, and the statistical program SPSS was applied to evaluate the research results. The researchers determined that implementing teaching units aligned with the cognitive training strategy proved effective, enhancing concentration and visual precision in the experimental group relative to the traditional approach. The researchers advised that futsal coaches participate in professional development programs focused on the application of the cognitive training strategy in their instructional practices.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and standardize a test to measure motor response speed using auditory stimuli colors among fourth-year students at College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Kirkuk University. The researcher also analyzed characteristics of test, descriptive survey method was used, as it is suitable for nature of the research in developing and standardizing tests and measuring their scientific properties. This method relies on describing and analyzing phenomenon as it exists in reality without direct intervention, research population consisted of 130 students from College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences during academic year 2024-2025. These students were divided into a construction sample of 30 students for initial experiment and test development, and a standardization sample of 100 students to determine test's scientific properties. Statistical Package for Social Sciences SPSS was used to process data and extract results, including mean, standard deviation, and correlation coefficients, to test validity and reliability of test and analyze its results. research concluded that designed test is highly effective in measuring motor response speed and ability to differentiate between students' levels. This indicates that it possesses appropriate levels of validity, reliability, and suitability for use. The researcher recommends adopting test in evaluating motor response speed in selection and motor assessment processes. Further studies on different samples and age groups are needed to enhance possibility of generalizing and developing it.
