Abstract

PT.XY is a manufacturing company engaged in Paper Products in Indonesia. Product X is one of the products that is produced and is widely used for activities because it is safe and comfortable to use. The number of defects in product X is more than other types of products. Based on data from the quality control department of PT. XY shows that product X gets results that are not in accordance with predetermined standards and quality. The purpose of this study is to identify the types of defects and determine the factors that often occur from the main causes of defects that occur in product X from the Rewinding process using the Statistical Process Control method. There are several tools that are used to identify the main causes of defects in the production process of product X. Among these tools consist of several, namely, check sheets, Pareto diagrams, cause and effect diagrams, histograms, and control charts. The results showed that the most common defect in product X was Uneven Cut. Therefore, there are several factors that cause defects in product X due to method factors, machine factors, environmental factors, and human factors which greatly influence production.

Abstract

In an effort to ensure the quality of conveyor belt products at PT. X, before being sent to consumers, product testing needs to be done. The conveyor belt testing activity has the potential for work accidents to be experienced by the testing operator. To anticipate this, it is necessary to identify hazards and assess risks to Occupational Safety and Health (K3) from all conveyor belt testing activities. The scope of this research is only on conveyor belt testing activities in the testing laboratory section of PT. X. The method used in this Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment is by using the Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) method, namely by determining all types of testing activities, their hazards and risks and determining the severity, probability of occurrence, controls carried out, and level of concern. Test operators are sufficiently concerned about the importance of risk hazard control and all testing activities are equipped with controls in the form of the use of Personal Protective Equipment and engineering controls. There are 16 types of hazardz and 12 risks in coveyor belt testing activities. The IBPR value of all conveyor belt testing activities is no more than zero or there is no significant hazard.

Abstract

The high level failure is a problem that company always to minimized and to improve quality of final products, and also were conducted by PT. EDS Manufacturing Indonesia (PEMI) which is consistent in producting a quality product. PT. EDS Manufacturing Indonesia (PEMI) manufacture Toyota HI-ACE carline product for motorcycle. Therefore the high level failure in this product is unacceptable because it can harm or kill company, then to solve this problem we propose to use Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). Our research using the FMEA method at PT. EDS Manufacturing Indonesia for Toyota HI-ACE carline product shows the existence of various modes of failure in the production and quality assurance areas. The FMEA method give suggestions for improvements to the 2 failure modes to be priority based on the highest RPN value that is wrong dimension and demage insulation. The next step is identify the risks that contribute to failure with using the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). With FMEA we found the highest RPN value that show highest defect such as damage insulation 324 or 14.78% and wrong dimension 280 or 12.77%. Abstract

The poor setting out of coastal settlements had very high vulnerability of the fire hazard. The limited access caused difficulties in evacuating the community (agents) when fire was accured. The communities as agents in a group interaction activities due to the environment had evacuation path and other support systems to find the fastest way out. This research had designed a simulation model of community movement during a fire disaster in the coastal settlement. The case study of this research was defined in the dense coastal settlement area of Pasar ​​Batu Tarakan, North Kalimantan. The community evacuation simulation used the Agent Based Modeling (ABM) utilized NetLogo software. The survey was conducted by considering the condition of main route that can be accessed. The modeling had 3 simulation scenarios were based on the number of agents movement who left the fire site. The double linear regression had been utilized to analyze the variable correlation. The results showed a scenario 3 had the largest people number who passed out the exit way. The selection of the path was based on the distance and route width on the number of people save had very significant correlation (R2 = 98,34%).

Abstract

CV. Yasri Cipta Mandiri is a CV that was established in 2018, previously this industry was a polymer filter trading industry which is currently starting to produce its own polymer filters, this company produces Polymer Filters. on CV. Yasri Cipta Mandiri found that the production process was lacking in terms of the layout of the production machine or the layout that was less efficient in the degree of proximity so that distance had an unfavorable impact on the production process at CV. Yasri Cipta Mandiri and the addition of 1 new stamping machine unit, therefore it is necessary to improve the layout of the production machine facilities. For planning the layout of production machine facilities using the Activity Relationship Chart method. The total material handling distance or the total distance from each machine is 38.8 meters before the research is carried out. After processing the data and placing the work stations according to the degree of proximity using the activity relationshipship chart method, two proposed layouts were produced where these two proposed layouts were able to minimize the distance between work stations, the proposed layout I obtained a total material handling distance of 22.25 meters and obtained a value of 22.25 meters. efficiency is 42.65%, the proposed layout II obtained a total meterial handling distance of 20.46 meters and obtained an efficiency value of 47.26%, so that the proposed layout II is recommended as the selected proposed layout.

Abstract

The chair is one of the tools to support lecture activities at Industrial Engineering UNIS Tangerang. Based on the Nordic Body Map that has been distributed to UNIS Industrial Engineering students, there are several complaints felt by students when using the lecture chair that is currently used. The complaint is in the form of aches or pains in the limbs, including in the neck, back, waist, legs, right hand and buttocks. This indicates that the design of the lecture chair currently used is not in accordance with the anthropometry of the UNIS Industrial Engineering students. This research method uses an anthropometric approach by taking anthropometric data from students and then identifying the lecture chairs used at this time. The next stage is about processing anthropometric data, entering the wishes of students based on the level of interest in designing the design. The results showed that the redesign of the lecture chair with a new minimalist design and has the advantage that the back of the chair and the seat mat have used foam material so that it is more comfortable, there is a shelf for storing goods or books, and there is a hanger to put a bag on the back of the chair The results of the redesign of the lecture chair have been able to reduce user complaints by improving the angle of inclination on the back of the chair and the seat mat.

Abstract

PT. Beton Perkasa Wijaksana has experienced a drastic drop in product sales, resulting in an overload of raw materials in warehouses. The reason is because PT. Beton Perkasa Wijaksana lost cooperation with several foreign companies that had previously become regular customers who purchased products from PT Beton Perkasa Wijaksana. Therefore, it is necessary to control the inventory of raw materials to optimize the inventory in the warehouse. The purpose of this study was to determine the best value of inventory control from the comparison of the two methods, namely the EOQ method and the Min-Max method at PT. Beton Perkasa Wijaksana, so that the inventory of raw materials in the warehouse can be used optimally. The results showed that the value of safety stock, minimum inventory, maximum inventory, and total inventory cost that had smaller values was the EOQ method by minimizing 8% of the Min-Max method. Thus, the better method chosen is Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) by minimizing the direct cost of storing inventory and the inverse cost of ordering supplies

Abstract

PT. INDONESIA TOYOBO FILM SOLUTIONS is an industry that produces plastic sheet / PET film. In this company, there is an accumulation of OM-Chips type of raw material for G2 Film products. The research will apply the Moving Average and Exponential Smoothing Forecasting Methods, and for the planning of the raw materials using the Economic Order Quantity Method. Is this EOQ method capable of costing the raw material inventory so that it can minimize the cost of raw material inventory and the results can also be known later. For forecasting, the results show that the 2-month Moving Average forecasting method has a value of MAD = 19.5 and MAPE = 13.58. For the company's inventory costs in the period August 2020-July 2021 without using the EOQ method, which is Rp. 45,499,623. And after using the EOQ method in the period August 2020-July 2021, the results of the inventory cost of Rp. 36,252,000. There was a decrease in inventory costs in the period August 2020-July 2021 by 11.31%. Meanwhile, the raw material inventory for the upcoming period August 2021-July 2022 uses the EOQ method for the number of economical purchases per order, which is 93.81 Tons, with a purchase frequency of 19 times. And for the safety stock of 41.44 tons with a Re-Order Point value of 246.78. From the results of these calculations, it was obtained that the inventory costs for the August 2021-July 2022 period were Rp. 28,141,500

Abstract

In the present work the sugar plant in Sragen, Central Java, Indonesia has ten evaporators that can be configured to five effect evaporators. The optimization ofenergy demand, finding optimum operating condition of LowPressure Steam (LPS), and choosing the best configuration of multiple effect evaporator (MEE) were performed by pinch analysis. In this paper, LPS at 0.4 kg/cm2.G – 1.1 kg/cm2.G were evaluated. The results show that the optimum operating condition of LPS was at 0.9 kg/cm2.G – 1.1 kg/cm2.G. This optimum operating condition enhances the energy saving by about 30% compared to that of existing plant (0.4 kg/cm2.G). The best performance value that can be achieved were Steam on Cane (SOC) by 43.50% and Steam Economy (SE) by 2.1

The company aims to minimize inventory and maximize the level of demand fulfillment.
