<![CDATA[The purpose of this paper is to determine the motivating librarians to improve theirability in applying information technology in libraries and improve the professionalismand add insight to the writer in particular and librarians in general. The problemsare studied in this paper is how much the role of librarians in applying informationtechnology in libraries, how the attitude of librarians to the presence of informationtechnology, as well as how to apply the ability of information systems librarian at theLibrary, as well as the obstacles encountered in applying information technology inlibraries. The method of writing in this paper uses methods of literature by combiningsome of the opinions of experts in the field of library science, analyzed and thenbe concluded. The conclusion of this paper is the Librarian as future informationprofessionals have a variety of challenges and obstacles in applying informationtechnology in libraries, among others: 1) Increasing new profession, 2). Shiftingthe role of libraries, 3). Digitalization of Information, and 4). Paradigm Changes inlibrary services. So to deal with future librarians must have the pioneer spirit, whichis critical in the development of information technology, and are able to apply it in thelibrary development. Librarians will have a very important role in the development ofinformation systems in the library, because in the future, the librarian will collaboratewith a variety of background knowledge resources in various formats and forms.Librarians will also collaborate in the long term and short passes boundaries of spaceand time.]]>

<![CDATA[Observation or preservation of archives is a process and effort in protecting the physical archive against damage or destructive elements and restoration / resvarasi damaged part of the archive, which is caused by factors from the (intrinsic) archive itself as well as factors from the outside (extrinsic) physical archive itself. The importance of preservation of archives in each institution is for the institution’s long-term interests. Because the archive preservation program will be able to avoid more severe damage, loss of material and information. The purpose of preservation in the archive itself is to maintain its sustainability and extend the age of its use. So that it can survive and be more broadly useful, For this reason there is an effort to divert the provision of archives such as efforts to digitize archives so that they remain stored in electronic form to save space and maintain them, because many archival conditions are not feasible but have very important values. ]]>

<![CDATA[This paper aims to determine the acculturation between religion, culture and virtual society and the implementation of religion, and culture in virtual communities in Indonesia. The research methodology used is a conceptual approach by analyzing existing data through the study of literature relating to the focus under study. The literature used is primary and secondary sources, namely books and several journals that examine the same subject matter. The results of this conclusion are religion, culture, society is an important aspect that takes a leading role in creating a diversity of cultures of a nation. Pluralism that occurs comes from the acculturation process between these two aspects. The success of an acculturation model of culture and religion will be strongly supported by the development of information technology that affects its people to develop in the virtual realm or modernization. It is hoped that by understanding the acculturation process between religion, culture and virtual society, we are able to reduce the alkuturation failure of these aspects in order to create a harmonious society in the current era of modernization.]]>

<![CDATA[Writing in this paper aims to see further which role or expected role of part-time students or workers who calculate the time in collection management or collection development in the Directorate of Library UII Yogyakarta. This needs to be seen because there are still many universities in Indonesia that still lack librarians, while librarians themselves have been more involved in fields that can be termed managers. In this paper will be examined to what extent part-time students are involved in collection management, is it possible to develop it to assist in the collection policy domain. The method used in this study is qualitative by means of interviews and observations. Based on observations and interviews, the involvement of part time students in the collection management process in the UII Library Directorate is limited to assisting technical problems, for involvement in policies all handled by the leadership in this case is the Library Director and Division Head in the UII Library. In this research, the author sees that it can still be developed the participation of the involvement in the policy making process, as an example that part time students are also users so that their opinions or ideas can be raised from them to create a collection development policy that is flexible and user friendly.]]>

<![CDATA[This paper aims to find out how library material selection activities in the development of collections in the university library are high. The library as an information provider unit always develops collections to meet the information needs of its users. As the development of science and information technology has an impact on the development of library collections with more complex information content which is a consideration in the development of library collections, the more challenging challenges of library selection as an effort to build a library collection that is strong and right on target for the user community. The method used in this study is descriptive in the form of literature review by taking secondary data obtained from several literature or literature studies (Research libraries) that are relevant in accordance with the problems discussed by reviewing and analyzing then described descriptively. The results of the discussion of this article are to show that library material selection is included as one of the important factors needed in the development of authority in library material selection at the college library. The provisions regarding the selection are regulated according to the type and structure of the library organization in question and are guided by the collection development policies and work procedures that have been set. With the selection of activities this helps the selector in choosing materials that will be used as library collections and becomes one of the activities that greatly determines the quantity and quality in developing collections in the library. Through this selection, it is expected that the collection of quality and relevant collections can be achieved according to the needs of the users. So if library material selection does not refer to the collection policy guidelines and work procedures that have been set, the quality in the development of collections in the library is not in accordance with user needs. collection. <![CDATA[Students of SMP Negeri 13 Surakarta mostly students from families with lowereconomic level. Most students of SMP Negeri 13 Surakarta not yet have adequate facilities for the needs of their schools at home, for example a computer or netbook, books that support learning in schools, and other school supplies. Existing facilities at the school became one of the alternatives that can help students to improve students’ quality of human resources. Library SMP Negeri 13 Surakarta has the facilities and infrastructure that can help the students to follow the teaching and learning process in schools. Concern antarsiswa and concerns of the student teachers are needed in the environment of SMP Negeri 13 Surakarta because a lot of students that should beredirected in order to achieve future aspired. Library SMP Negeri 13 Surakarta also constantly improve the quality of services that the students and teachers as library members feel comfortable using the library of SMP Negeri 13 Surakarta. Quality culture serves in the library of SMP Negeri 13 Surakarta realized by improving the quality of services to library patrons, for example the use of an application library to replace the use of the manual on the process of borrowing and returning books as well as data members of the library, so as to realize the school a fun and students can enjoy the learning process, feel comfortable in the environment of SMP Negeri 13 Surakarta,especially if students are in the library.]]>

<![CDATA[As a manifestation of the role of libraries in supporting Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi and efforts to create and develop creativity of writing students as a young generation, Jember University ofLibrary (UNEJ) conducted writing competition activities among universities throughout Jember Regency. The purpose of this paper is to provide information discourse (informative discourse) that through writing competition activities, can create and develop student creativity, especially UNEJ students through his paper. The method used is the study of case studies / case illustrated and closer to the descriptive study of the Writing Competition activities in the UNEJ Library, and supported by the lieratur and related data. Identify, analyze and investigate more deeply to study the object of research. Writing competition has created 176 student papers written in 49 scientific papers and 127 papers in short stories. Most participants were 151 or 85.80% came from UNEJ students especially students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education with the number of participants 63 students or 41.72% ]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to reveal the implementation of library material procurement in IAIN Batusangkar Library, this study uses qualitative methods by collecting data in the form of observation and interview. Based on the findings it can be seen that IAIN Batusangkar Library in the process of procurement of library materials has 3 methods of application; (1) Procurement of library materials through purchases to vendors is done once every year (2) Procurement of library materials through through gifts/ donations from internat and eksernal parties. (3) Procurement of library materials through deposits such as scientific papers, thesis, thesis, proseding and others. Procurement of library materials through donations / gifts from prospective alumni IAIN Batusangkar or students to be graduated should the book will be donated determined by the library or students are given another option to contribute money that will be used for the purchase of library materials, it is useful to overcome the literature not required. Should be in the procurement of library materials through thedeposit all the lecturers / employees must know that they are obliged to deposit the results of his works and give sanctions if not donate to the library. <![CDATA[ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to determine the collection evaluation process carried out in the Senior High School of Muhammadiyah 4 Yogyakarta library with the benefits of research, that is as a matter of consideration in conducting evaluations in the development of collections carried out at the library so that the collections are in accordance with user needs. The research method used is the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on observations, interviews, and documentation with librarian at Senior High School of Muhammadiyah 4 Yogyakarta, we can conclude the following results: Library evaluation in the Senior High School of Muhammadiyah 4 Yogyakarta includes 4 processes that is collecting all collections of data, check the list of standards such as catalogs and bibliographies, gathering opinions from users who normally come to the library, and direct collection checks.]]>
